Abigail's Tea Room

This was the very first time that I went to a Tea Room and I really enjoyed myself! I went with my sister, my grandmother and my aunt. The food was delicious, the staff was so very nice, and the selection of tea they had was amazing! I also enjoyed shopping at the gift shop.

We took out of state guests to Abigails in December and had a wonderful time. Beautiful Christmas decorations and excellent presentation on the food and teas. Service also was excellent. We'll be back!

I have been to Abigail's many times.Each time has been amazing and I always look forward to going back. i try to take new people as my quest each time I go. Last week I invited my Aunt Theresa and Daughters who were visting for the Holidays and I couldn't have choosen a better place to take them for lunch. They were very impressed with the beautiful Holiday Poinsettia and Christmas decorations that are always professionally done each year at Abigail's. The Christmas decorations are worth the trip all by themselves! However, when my guest received the High Tea Presentation that only Abigail's can do so beautifully and so detailed. They just could not stop remarking what a wonderful, fun visit they have had here on this day! Thanks Abigail, You did it again!

The service was good. The environment was lovely. The tea was hot, the food was good, and we will definitly return. It is a beautiful tea room.

My family and I visit Abigail's at least once a year. The tea is excellent and the food is amazing. The staff is extremely helpful and always cheerful. It is a great establishment and I highly recommend any one in the area to visit!

My Mother & I have decided to visit different tearooms in our area. We've gone to approx 15 so far and Abigail's is our favorite! The atmosphere is elegant yet inviting. The food is superb and the staff is friendly. What more could you want. Oh I know! A repeat visit!! We've been there 3 times now and each time as been like the the first visit. 5 stars all the way!

This is by far one of the most beautiful, elegant, and charming tearooms in the area, and surrounding areas. As soon as you drive up to the home, you are transported to another place in time. The atmosphere is just lovely. My daughter and I took two of her friends, and a wonderful time was had by all. The food is delicious, the service is accomadating and friendly. AND they also have a GIFT SHOP filled with unique items, you just want to buy everything there. We are planning another visit in January. What could be better than a steaming hot cup of tea in luxurious splendor. I'm there!

Enjoyed their wonderful Christmas Tea event! The atmosphere was just beautiful and so festive! The tea was made to perfection and the food divine! A very friendly and accommodating staff! We traveled fro the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area and started with shopping at the outlets then ended our day with true delight, comfort and hospitality! So travelers make sure to make Abigail's your #1 stop for an truly enjoyable experience!

My girlfriends and I wanted a lovely, laid-back place to celebrate Christmas. We had a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting. Christmas songs playing just added to the festive spirit. I can't wait to go back again.

We were visiting. Here with my daughter. We had a lovely afternoon together with another daughter and friends. We enjoyed high tea which was colorful, varied and the tea was excellent. What nice place to gather with friends and family. We will come again

I stopped at Abigail's for lunch and a gift certificate for one of my friends.And eventhough I did not have a reservation they were kind enough to make a table ready for me with the same smiles as the friendly staff gives all the quest who enter here! I must say they were very, very busy with a full tearoom of red hat ladies. Thanks Abigails for being so kind to my sister and me even without a reservation. Food and service was excellent as usual!

We are regulars here at Abigail's, and highly recommend it to anyone. We visited this Saturday and enjoyed their new tea list, and the pumpkin dessert. A must visit!

I helped host a bridal shower at the tea room and it was excellent. The food and desserts were incredible, as they always are, and the presentation of food was just beautiful. They have the best brownies! The owner even helped us by decorating the guest tables and serving tables with Fall decorations, which really helped with the theme of the shower. Although I did not try any of the teas during this visit, I am amazed by the long list of teas they offer. We all had an amazing time and I would highly recommend Abigail's for any occassion.

Friends and I hosted a bridal shower at the tearoom and it was amazing. The food was great (& more than enough) & tea wonderful and ambiance was perfect for the theme we wanted. There was a horrible storm the day before & a ton of flooding, road closures & power outages, but all employees arrived and the shower went off without a hitch! The bride, guests and myself had a wonderful time. This is definitely a place I recommend and I am looking forward to visiting again.

Have been to Abigail's for tea with girlfriends several times, with my sister and for their dinners during the holiday season. It is all so well done and food and teas were delicious. The atmosphere is so relaxing. One of my very favorite Tea Rooms.

I attended a baby shower here at Abigail's and it was so well done! The food and teas were delicious. The food was laid out beautifully in the next room from where we were all seated. The atmosphere was perfect for a shower. The staff made sure we always had what we needed and we were given as much time as we wanted for the shower. Highly recommended!

We visited Abigails today, and it was great! We called last minute, and they squeezed us in, so glad they did. They were very accommodating considering it was last minute. We will be back. Thank you.

We went to Abigail's on a bus trip fund-raiser for Order of the Eastern Star - and we have unanimously decided to make it an annual event! Not one complaint! The staff at Abigails handeled us quite easily - as if we were only a few people, and we were over 40 people! Wonderful slection of teas, terrific food, very welcoming atmosphere and the decor was impeccable! Its nice to do something different that is so enjoyable!

I have been to Abigail's many times and I am always amazed how each time feels just like the first time my sister and I walked in the door and stepped into the beautiful Victorian Parlor with the red satin drapes and crystal chandelier and those lovely antique mirrors! What an amazing tearoom this is and I am so thankful it's here in Reading. Every time we go, we see a little something we didn't see before, and I don't know how that is possible because we spend sometimes hours there enjoying every nook of this lovely Victorian treasure! The food as always, is delicious and the tea is always served hot and brewed perfectly for my taste. I came today to sign up for the Christmas Candlelight Tea. This will be my 4th year at that wonderful candlelight event. Thanks Abigail!

Visited Abigail's Tea Room for the first time over the weekend, and was certainly impressed! We will be back. Sounds like the review from below was a very grumpy women, I totally disagree with her comments, the tea was very hot, and the selection was fantastic! Just walking into the tea room puts you into a good mood! Thank you again for a very relaxing afternoon, we will be back!

Very disappointing. Tea was not hot, food just average and for the #1 tea room in PA, tea list was lacking.

This is my 2nd time visiting, and we came on a bus tour, and I can not wait to come again! They handled our large group like it was only 2 people, everyone had such a great time. Highly recommend!

I took my ten year-old daughter to Abigail's last Wednesday for our first Victorian Royal High Tea. We were warmly welcomed, and made to feel right at home. Our server Beverly was wonderful and attended to all of our needs. She surprised us with little special touches we did not even expect. Our tea, meal and experience were superb! After our meal, we asked if we could get a photo. Beverly and even the other patrons took our pictures for us and suggested different places to stand. We felt free to explore the upstairs gift room and marvelled at the decor, the gift items and friendly, home-like atmosphere. Abigail's is now our special place, and we plan to make it a new tradition! Thank you all, for such a lovely, memorable day!

We had my daughter's 14th birthday party with several of her friends at Abigail's Tea Room. It was a wonderful experience them. They enjoyed the fancy dining setting and trying the wide variety of teas and delicious finger sandwiches. We will definitely be visiting again!

What a wonderful experence! I have been to several Tea Houses, and this by far will be #1 on my list. Everyone was so pleasant, and the decor couldn't be more beautiful. There was so much food, I could hardly finish - every bite delicous.

My husband took me to the tea room for Valentine's Day and we loved it so much that I immediately booked it for Mother's Day. My Mother loved it! The food is excellent, especially the desserts! The staff is so helpful and attentive and I love the gift shop! Thanks for the great experiences!

Another wonderful luncheon at Abigail's last week. We always enjoy our time spent there as it is so beautiful, relaxing, and clean. I have been there with family and friends many times in the last 3 years and we are never disappointed with our visits. The servers are spectacular at their job yet not overwhelming as other tearooms I read about.

This time we received Abigail's new dessert of 'Napoleons' ..Absolutely to die for!!! flaky puff pastry filled with a wonderfully delicious cream filling and topped with a little glaze and a drizzel of chocolate!! Melts in your mouth! Abigail's will always be my #1 tearoom and my very special place to take quest that I want to impress. Everyone I have ever taken there was completely fasinated with the lovely Victorian decor, great service, and the fabulous food so elegantly presented. Our next trip is already reserved for next month.

My hubby & I went to Abigail's earlier in the year to 'scope' it out for my Red Hat Chapter event.
Although reluctant (never having a tea room experience) he left delighted after a wonderful lunch and enjoyed being the only rooster in the hen house. We didn't have a reservation and it was a busy Saturday, but Abigail & her ladies were so accommodating to seat us and chat. On 5/21/11 my Red Hat Chapter traveled to Abigail's for our chapter anniversary. All the hatters agreed that it was the best tea house they have ever been to! Aiming to please, I am so glad I chose Abigail's for our event, certianly put a feather in my bonnet with my group! They were all so pleased they want to go back again & again, as do I. Thank you Abigail & staff for giving us a truly delightful afternoon!

3rd Annual Mother's Day luncheon for us at Abigial's was just perfect! Brought some friends of mine, and we all throughly enjoyed it. Loved the new desserts, and the sandwiches! Please make them again soon!

My daughter, and a friend and I enjoyed such a delightful time yesterday at our afternoon tea. Truly a relaxing experience! We felt very welcomed and enjoyed our time immensely. It was my second time at Abigails and I was anxious to return. We thoroughly enjoyed our tea, cream of broccoli soup, scones, blueberry bread, fresh fruit & sandwiches. We all said it was probably the best blueberry bread we ever tasted! The desserts were not our favorite yesterday, but honestly we were also quite full by that time as well! We all said we can't wait for our next time to return. Thank you for excellent service & creating such a nice atmosphere! Highly recommended!

Recently enjoyed the Victorian Royal High Tea at Abigails and the whole experience was wonderful. The two ladies were friendly and attentive and welcomed us to tour the house which we really enjoyed. The food was very good and we were surprisingly stuffed by the time we left. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxing and the experience made for a really special day.

I have been to quite a few tea rooms, but this was by far my favorite!My grandmother and i went for my 11th birthday recently and i didn't want to leave! I thought the tea was amazing!I almost drank two pots of it! i was very pleased by not just the food or tea but the service!

My daughter & I visited for the 1st time today & loved every minute of our experience. We both had the Royal High Tea ( she had vegetarian) and were very pleased with the selections. Tea was good & hot !! Enjoyed the gift shop, made a few purchases & we will be back !!!!

My review is actually regarding the teacup gallery, Abigail's online tea party supply store. After searching high and low, for what would be needed for a Mothers day tea at our church, I found it (actually in stock) at the teacup gallery. My order,for the gorgeous Heirloom pattern cups and saucers went out the very next day, packaged with great care, and arrived in pristine condition. I also ordered their lovely silver plated teaspoons with the rose handle-beautiful!
I was treated in such a friendly and courteous manner, and will not hesitate to visit again for any tea party needs I may have. And, if I am ever in the area of Abigail's tea room, I will be visiting there to thank the owners in person!

This was our first visit, and we were impressed! Tea was hot, food was great, the atmosphere was the best part, and the gift shop was beautiful, we spent another half hour just looking at all the stuff. We will be back.

My girl friends and I spent a lovely afternoon this past Saturday at Abigails. We were the last to leave, but they never rushed us out! Food and atmosphere were just perfect for us, will be going back.

Both times I have visited Abigail's I have been able to completely relax in an inviting Victorian atmosphere while enjoying a variety of tearoom offerings. It's great to check out other rooms of the house and the gift shop whilst the tea and meal are being prepared. I already look forward to my next visit! :)

This is a regular stop for my friends and I, we come here to get away, and it is alwasy perfect! We seem to get different teas every time we come, and all have been fabulous. Rita(the owner) and her sister Bev(our server) are always so nice, they take time to tell the history to each of the new friends I bring. Faithful guest.

I always enjoy my trips to Abigail's Tearoom and especially love the way they decorated for Valentines Day! The owner once owned a flower shop, so that is why Abigail's is decorated so lovely and professional perfection. And as usual the food and staff were wonderful. My Sisters and I had a perfect afternoon and enjoyed each others company in what in my opioion is the most beautiful tearoom around. Especially loved the new cherry turnovers, made with fresh baked puff pastry. YUM!!

I took my wife up to Abigails for her birthday, it was perfect. We got to sit in a comfortable, quiet atmosphere and were able to forget about the hectic lives we live for a while. The decor was beautiful, the food was wonderful and the service was with a big smile. I would recommend this experience to anyone wanting to get 'away' even for an hour.

From all the reviews, was expecting perfection. A little too overdone in the Victoriana for me and my friends tast but what was really disappointing was the quality of the food, choice of teas and lack of welcome from staff although there were several groups there so maybe we hit them on an off day.

We were back again for a gathering of ladies from the church, and once again Martha and the staff outdid themselves in making us feel so welcome, as many of us are regulars, food is always excellent, atmosphere absorbs the stress and chaos and leaves you feeling refreshed. You must visit!!

Went with a group of friends/teachers and aids over the weekend, and had the Afternoon Tea. It was fabulous! Will be coming again, and will recommend to my other friends.

I lost count how many times I have been to Abigail's, it is a regular stop for myself and my friends. It is the perfect place to catch up with friends, and enjoy wonderful food and the selection of teas they have. Although most days I have been there they were full, you still get all the attention you need. The staff is very courteous and attentive, and the owner, Rita, gave us the history on the house, which adds that attnetion to detail I love so much! I will continue to visit, and highly suggest you experience Abigail's, you will be hooked!
