I brought my best friend for tea for her birthday. There was an extensive tea menu and we were each brought our own pot of tea in a ceramic server with tea cozy. We had a most relaxing 1 1/2 hours. The tea sandwiches and desserts were yummy. We both had the carrot soup and both give it a 10! The surroundings and china were gorgeous. Very traditional. We enjoyed shopping in the gift shop - great gift ideas for the tea lover.

My husband surprised me with a visit to Abigail's Tea Room and I absolutely loved it. The Victorian decor was beautiful and inviting.I ordered the Victorian High Tea and the food was delicious! Best lobster & crab bisque I ever had! My husband enjoyed the chicken salad on raisin bread and a bowl of loaded potato soup and creme brulee for dessert. I might add he was very satisfied with his meal:) We enjoyed our tea selections in the lovely teacups-so pretty. Our hostess and server were both very welcoming and friendly. The Victorian decor in the many tearooms of this old house is exquisite! The presentation of the tea is beautiful. And the small gift shop was absolutely fabulous, with more than just tea items!!! Please come to Abigail's Tea Room! I first went as a guest at a baby shower and have been back twice with friends as a special outing. The menu includes wraps, sandwiches, quiche and salads, but I always order the Victorian High Tea, or the Afternoon Tea. It's absolutely beautiful in presentation and tastes delicious. We had a wonderful experience at Abigail's. The decor in this beautifully restored Victorian was rich and elegant and set a perfect environment for our Royal Tea luncheon. The selection of teas was very good--not so many you're overwhelmed in the choosing, not so few that you can't find something to try. The finger sandwiches--my favorite part of taking tea--were splendid, as was the entire Royal Tea menu, and everything was served in a lovely manner. I'm thrilled to find a tea room here in Reading--especially one of this caliber--and plan to become a regular!

i was told that Abigail's had closed. Was very happy to find them open and doing very well. We as a group haven't been there for a while, so we found the Tea Room much more then we last found it.
What a pleasure. I am planning on attending very soon. While we were there was a young lady who was just turning 13, her mom had bought her for her special day. What a joy it was to watch her. The waitess took a picture of them and then i also went over asking if i could take some of the both of them. There is a beautiful doll in period dress, in which i took picture of her with the doll. I think she will remember specail day for years to come. As you see i am a people watcher. Enjoy your tea. ;-)

I will not be returning to this tearoom. Our recent experience at this tearoom has changed my opinion drastically. We had pleasant experiences there the past few years, but things have changed. It started when we went to make a reservation. We'd recently had my 1-yr-old nephew there (very well behaved, we wouldn't have taken him otherwise), but when I mentioned we'd need a high chair for this visit, I was told very firmly that they don't have high chairs. Confused, I inquired further, until I was told the one they had was broken and they would not be replacing it. The conversation continued with me feeling reprimanded because 'Do you really think bringing a child is a good idea? They don't have a very long attention span,' and basically telling me, without actually saying the words, that t... (more)

Abigail's is my favorite tearoom of any I have ever gone to! The food is by far better and more plentiful than any other too! The staff and servers always go out of the way to make our visit a memorable experience, each and every time. This time my friend that I was meeting there for lunch misunderstood the time of our reservation that I gave her and she arrived 1 hour early and Abigail's had not yet opened for business. However, the owner saw her in the parking lot and invited her in to have a pot of tea while she waited for me. They even gave her the table that was reserved for us. She was treated wonderfully by the staff even though she was there an hour early. We had a Groupon deal for Victorian Tea which we looked forward to using. The experience was good but lacking in some ways for one of the top-rated tea rooms in Pennsylvania. There were many teas to choose from but nothing special. Food was good; salad was lacking...no cheese or seasonal vegetables as stated. Service was not the best as we had to chase our waitress for water, additional tea and to clear our dirty plates. The table next to us came in after us but were cleared way before us. We were also unimpressed as all the staff were in either sandals or flip flops. It was a pleasant experience but I was expecting to be wow-ed and it wasn't a wow experience, it was just ok. Sorry.

My first trip to Abigails transported me back to my living in England days. I loved Tea Rooms in England. Abigails met the high standards that I remembered. What first impressed me was the building. I then walked in and immediately felt like I was back in England. The walls, the ceilings, the beauty of your choice of colors, the tea cups, saucers, the whole Victorian experience. I spent 3 lovely hours with my Best Friend, enjoying your services. Everyone, please please make an effort to find Abigails. You will not be disappointment. You will find no other that leaves you with the experience of being in England..

My daughter, who was visiting from California, treated me to Abigail's Tea Room for Mother's Day and we had a wonderful time - the food, service and atmosphere were above and beyond our expectations. I plan on taking my best friend to Abigails for her birthday lunch.

My friend and I enjoyed our luncheon tea as I have done several times previously. I always love going to Abigail's for the beautiful Victorian atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service. The gift shop is always filled with lovely new items tempting me to buy.

Abigail's was a real treat and well worth the hour travel time! The tea was served in pretty china, and the food was fresh and very tasty. Our waitress was very attentive and encouraged us to tour the beautiful surroundings. My husband and I will definitely be returning for another lovely afternoon.

I celebrated my friend's birthday with three other friends at Abigail's Tea Room. It was a delightful experience. Everything was delicious. I especially liked the blueberry tea and the variety of the delectable tea sandwiches and the desserts. It was a memorable occasion and my friends loved it. I will go back again with other friends and relatives. It is best to go early because the parking lot is small, but there is free parking in the street.

In April I was invited to a bridal shower and I enjoyed every part of drinking hottea, to enjoying the delicious soup, sampling all the wonderful sandwiches, and the great desserts. I ate everything and didn't have one bit left to take home. I love Abigail's Tea Room and plan to visit this summer.

The Friends of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center have many requests for information and certificates for this Tea Room at their annual Garden Party. For years, the certificates have sold very rapidly. Our patrons to the Garden Party have nothing to say except positive responses. The facility itself is lovely and is truly a worthwhile experience for anyone visiting this establishment. In a hectic world, visiting Abigail's Tea Room is a wonderful, relaxing afternoon.
