Variety: I was long awaiting my visit to the tea room. I loved the atmosphere and the service was fantastic. However, we were very disappointed with the portions in regards to the ' The Duchess' tea sampler. The description on the menu seemed wonderful. On the contrary, the tea sandwiches were so minscule and the pastries were so minute that I was glad I didn't share it with my friend. In addition, it was quite expensive for what they offered. At other tea rooms, I have had to take home the patries and sandwiches because they were very generous with their portions. Next time, I will visit Crane Brook's tea room in Carver. There, you won't leave hungry. |

Tearoom Response
Dear Sheryl, Thank you for your comments. We are pleased we were able to meet your expectations for the most part, except for quantity of food. We did extensive historical review and found that 'Afternoon Tea' offered a diverse selection of foods that were bite size/ petite four size. The Duchess offers 11 different items plus the Devon Cream. This diversity does increase costs. We are open to ideas from our guests. If we were to decrease the diversity and number of items to 6 or 7 and increase their portions which ones would you recommend ? Thank you again for your time and comments. Best regards, Richard and Linda

Variety: What a lovely tearoom. My daughter and I had tea here on Saturday while on vacation. We enjoyed wonderful pots of tea and delicious tea sandwiches and the some excellent cranberry scones. I love the fact thet you can order the tea sandwiches and scones without all the tiny deserts usually served at tea. Most times I am so full by the time that I get to those at tea, that they go home in a container. We were able to order an extra tea sandwich plate and skip all the sweet deserts. The scones made the perfect bit of sweetness at the end of the meal. I wish that more tearooms would offer this option. A great afternoon at All Things Tea ! |

Variety: I was thrilled to see this tea shop on my recent visit to Plymouth. It was absolutely adorable. We had a cozy little table near the window, and it was beautifully set. The waiter/owner was very helpful in explaining the menu and the teas available. The scones were delicious, as was the tea. It was the first time I had clotted cream with scones, and I loved it! We also enjoyed the lavender tea-infused champagne. The inclusion of the tea-infused wines on the menu made it an enjoyable experience for my boyfriend, who isn't as big of a tea drinker as I am. We appreciated the complimentary strawberry sorbet as well. After our tea and scones, we enjoyed looking through the gift shop area and picking out some loose leaf teas to being home. What a great selection to choose from! This was a wonde... (more) |
