what an amazing place in the most unusual area. it is like walking into another city in the middle of miami.. loved the strawberry kiwi. Now I know why they won the best tea house in miami prize from new times. Came in for the tarot card reading but will be back often for the tea. thanks

I loved everything about it. I am a heavy tea drinker and found this tea to be amzing, I am more of a black tea person but the green tea and choices they offer is amazing. The service is sweet and the person behind the counter very pleasant. I am happy I found this place and will be sure to tell my friends about it.

i was really looking forward coming to this tearoom. when i finally made it, i loved the place immediately. beautifully design, great outdoor place. the sandwiches were good, the atmosphere was great. but the service was very slow, not to mention my friend and i were the only ones there. when we finally got our teas, they were awful. perhaps brewed for too long and too much loose tea for the amount of water. when i told the owner about it, she said she put the amount of tea the package asks for. but as a regular loose leave tea drinker, i felt she didnīt know how to brew tea. something else that upset me was that i got a wooden stick to mix the sugar. i asked the other woman (the owner's help) for a regular spoon, my intention was not to be picky, but tea does change in flavor when introduced wood. she brought me a spoon finally and called me picky. this place in my opinion is great for anything else other than tea.

Hi and thank you for your review. I am Emilia the owner of Amate and would like to welcome you back to our shop. I personally don't remember meeting you and what you mentioned here is not something I would answer to a costumer maybe it was someone else that you met. The important thing is that you are satisfied, we carry ceramic cups and spoons outside of the paper cups and wood sticks we normally serve our tea in, all you have to do is ask, our server would be more than happy to serve you as you would like. Not to excuse my server but have you ever drank coffee at starbucks? well we, like them only provide glass and ceramic upon request.
Regarding the length of bruing, I am surprised because we serve our teas on special bodum tea pots and the ength of the brewing depends on the drinker, maybe you let it sit in the pot for too long? in either case, to get you back, next time you go to our lounge, ask for me by name, EMILIA, have them call me via phone if I am not there and your next tea cup is on me. Thank you and hope to see you back.
