Variety: I can't leave enough positive comments about this place. My family and friends have been coming here for years and we have a reservation this Saturday that will be the highlight of our week. I've been to Afternoon Tea in 6 different countries and 2 continents. Not even the afternoon tea served at Princess Diana's home - The Orangery at Kensington Palace was as lovely and well served as the AubreyRose. This place is consistently excellent in both quality of products and service. Lorna and Dave ... we can hardly wait to see you again. Cheers! |

Variety: By far this is the best tea I've ever had and I've been visiting tea rooms for more than 10 years. The service is wonderful, menu excellent and ambiance perfect! The only thing I would change is to serve the scone either before or after instead of after the dessert. The scone was a bit too much of a dessert for my taste and a bit sparse on the jam, curd and Devonshire cream. Next time I would go for the Queen's Tea which was a bit more money but the soup that went by our table looked wonderful! Worth every penny and will definitely be back! |

Variety: We just got back from an excellent first time visiting AubreyRose. This was only our second tea house experience. The combination of sweets and savory's worked perfectly. The bread pudding was very good. The fresh scones were very fluffy and tasty. The cream and raspberry preserves were an excellent compliment. The house tea was excellent with milk and sugar. Our favorite thing: The savories consisting of breads and cheeses. Wonderful. Not our favorite thing: I enjoyed the soup, but my wife didn't exactly like the consistency. Still good, I say try it for yourself. |

Variety: Every time I come to this tea room I am never disappointed....ever! The customer service is bar none, the food exquisite and when I walk away I feel as if I had been away on vacation for the weekend when in truth I had just been there for a couple of hours. What a delight! |

Variety: I have been to this tea house about five times now and always compare it to others 'inbetween' my visits. We usually go for someone's birthday in the family and are never disappointed. Although one of the more expensive teas it is worth it!! Details such as fresh flowers, dollie under plates, personal service, excellent food and presentation all make it lovely & very enjoyable experience.(10+) The shop itself is darling, very Victorian and 'girly' with frills. We just love it!! Would love for Lorna to make a receipe book of her fabulous scones? |

Variety: We always look forward to visiting your tea room when we are in San Diego. Everywhere we've been this season we have missed the spirit of Christmas....until we came to the AubreyRose this weekend. Thank you so much for capturing the spirit of Christmas and sharing it with us all. Your hard work and excellent service has been a wonderful gift to us! Thank you again! |

Variety: We had such a relaxing Sunday afternoon enjoying the absolutely delicious goodies. The Christmas carols playing and the beautiful decorations awakened the spirit of the holidays within us. The Cranberry Autumn tea was a super choice! Excellent addition to the tea menu. Our server, Haleyrose, was so sweet and very attentive. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you again in a couple weeks. |

Variety: I went to Aubrey Rose Tea Room (ARTR) for the first time exactly one week ago. I loved it so much I returned with my daughter today. The service is exceptional. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The room itself is such a delight! I sat at the Veranda table the first time and today the Fireside seating was reserved for us. The dessert selection and portions are superior to other tea rooms. My second favorite tea room, TUC, gives you a cookie the size of a quarter. ARTR is such an enchanting place and worth every penny. The scones are warm and delicious; the tea is superb and kept warm at your table. If you enjoy tea, this place is a MUST visit! I drove over 30 miles two weeks in a row to visit this tea room – that should say something! |

Variety: This is a Top Notch establishment! If you haven't experienced having the Afternoon Tea here, you are missing An Awesome Experience of a lifetime! They truly know how to present an elegant affair and we always can't wait to return. The delicious food, the service, the ambiance, the attention to detail, always leaves us feeling sooo very special and contented. This is such a rarity in this day and age, to find a place where they really care about their customers. BRAVO to you Lorna & Dave and staff!! Thank you for your excellent service!! |

Variety: I would like to first preface this by saying that my friend and I visit tea rooms throughout in various counties at least once a year (for the past 10 years) and the AubreyRose is 'hands down' the best thus far. My friend and I host our own Christmas Tea (in a similar fashion as the AubreyRose) every year. I commented to my friend that it is so great to continue to be pleasantly surprised when we discover an even better tea room in our travels. The table and food presentation was beautiful, fresh, delightful and creative. We had the two sandwiches and three what some would refer as appetizer like tea sandwiches. We were having fun trying to disect the incredible flavors. The bread pudding was outstanding, and the other two desserts were very good as well. The scone was fresh, flavorab... (more) |

Variety: Aubrey Rose is a lovely Tea Room. For the most part the food is very good and our service is usually excellent. Our server this time was Heather and she was a breath of fresh air. She saw to our every need and was very cheerful and pleasant. There was a large group of us dining today and as expected the 18% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. Apparently this establishment calculates the gratuity on the total of the bill after the tax has been added. I questioned the owner about this practice and he explained that it was his policy to do so and there were other merchants in town that had the same policy. That raised the price for our group by several dollars. I feel that $22.95 is on the “high side of fair” for tea, even though the presentation is lovely. To artificially inflate the price without posting it on the website or noting it on the bill is disrespectful to the customer. I really liked this place and am disappointed in this policy. |

Variety: On way to Los Alamitos, Ca from Phoenix we decided to go through San Diego & stop for tea at your teahouse I had heard so much about. I made reservations for the 3 of us to have the Queen Victoria tea. It was fabulous from the greeting all the way through to the end. Food & presentation by Heather was excellent. We tried 2 different teas, the asparagus soup & savories & desserts were great, my niece really enjoyed the scone. This time for us made a wonderful stop on our trip to spend time together in a wonderful surroundings & great food. Next time we are in the San Diego rest assure we will be back. |

Variety: My cousin brought me here for my birthday and what a wonderful treat that was! Food was excellent, from the soup to savories to scones to dessert. The owner and waitress were very attentive and charming. They presented me with a beautiful aubrey rose for my birthday as well. The tearoom is lovely and elegant, not overdone or gaudy. They house a great selection of teapots, accessories, and home decorations. This is one of the best high teas I've been to. |

Variety: The AubreyRose is such a sanctuary for me. Everything about it nurtures my feminie soul! What a respite from this hectic, harrying world. My sisters and I went there for MOTHER'S DAY and it was an absolutely lovely and memorable experience; the menu was the best ever and all the attention to details and the service made our afternoon such a joyful memory and we cherish our keepsake! I also went to their CELTIC Afternoon Tea with ELIZABETH KNIGHT! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire presentation! The Irish Soda bread with Hazelnut Cream was sooo delicious..it was all delicious and fresh! It was so exciting to meet Elizabeth Knight! What a treat! It was so fascinating to learn so much more about teatime, I didn't want her to stop(: Thank you Lorna and Dave and Staff for providing such a special place of elegance and graciousness! Variety: I believe I learned about Aubrey Rose Tea Room from an article in a publication. I have tried just about every tea room in San Diego once. Few deserve a second visit, but Aubrey Rose is a tea room I try very hard to find an excuse to visit. I have been many times and they always have something new on the menu. The food is creative and tastes great. The savories are especially good. The warm seasonal scones are also a treat. The presentation is beautiful with fresh flowers at every course. The tea selection is also varied. My very favorite part of having tea at Aubrey Rose is that each teapot has its very own warmer. Nothing worse that lukewarm tea. Always a pleasure. My favorite place for tea. |
