Visiting Bainbridge Island I came across 'August Moon' quite by chance. What a wonderful experience it was! I found this Asian style teahouse a most delightful and quietly elegant place, lovely to spend time over a perfectly brewed and served pot of tea. A wide variety of teas is available: Black teas, Oolong teas, Green teas, White teas, and Herbal tisanes. I enjoyed 'Tai Mu Shan', a lovely mellow green tea.

My experience at 'August Moon' was so perfect that I immediately recommended the teahouse to my family and friends who live in Seattle which is only a ferryride away. Unfortunately I cannot be a regular customer myself since I live in the Northeast.

My favorite place in Winslow, not far off the main drag yet a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of Bainbridge. This is a great for place for tea experts or those who are just finding their love of tea. Staff is well trained, kind and ready to sit you down with the pot of tea that is best for you. Either pick from the extensive descriptions of teas provided or answer a series of questions to lead you to the right choice. No matter the age august Moon a fantastic place to Sit, Sip, Relax and enjoy!

This teahouse is a gem. Casual and quiet, it's good for both long conversation with friends or a bit of solitude while reading the paper.

The tea selection is excellent aand covers a lot of ground geographically. The staff and owner are skilled with helping customers pick a tea they will like.

It's comfortable and quiet without being stuffy. Plus the food is fantastic -- something for everyone. My dad likes the salmon quiche while I go for the curried vegetables and rice or Vietnamese Hanoi pork. My niece really liked the potstickers. The apple torte and cheesecake are wonderful. Food prices are very reasonable, too -- not the typical for the Island. And service is great, fast, and pleasant.

Check out the traditional Japanese table in the back wher... (more)

This is a wonderful place to go for a pot of tea or a light meal. The tea service is terrific and the small plates tasty. Great for either a sit with a book and a cuppa or for joining friends.

Winslow-ites are a lucky bunch to have this restful, calming place on their doorstep, but it is well worth the ferry trip from Seattle (and, I would add, an easy walk from the terminal). Although the teahouse is an ideal place for study or quiet contemplation, I admire their principled refusal to install wi-fi and make the restaurant into yet another sea of plugged-in, tuned-out users. I love my laptop too, but I also value time with friends in pleasant surroundings and I'm tired of cafes that feel like libraries. The August Moon is a real gem!

The tea menu at August Moon has everything a true tea afficionado could desire, but is far from off-putting for the tea novice. The staff are well-trained and happy to take time to talk tea, and they will make sure you end up with a pot that will satisfy. I also love the option of sweet or savory scones, both of which are delicious!

I was a huge fan of Alia Pirzada's previous teahouse located in Seattle (Teahouse Kuan Yin) which was frequently listed in 'Seattle's Best Places'. Those of you who are lucky enough to be able to visit this beautiful place with some regularity are very lucky indeed! Superb tea, wonderful food and an environment that just makes me want to linger. Alia has done it again!

Alia have done it again and way better! This location is splendid, Alia really, really knows her teas and none of them are 'dead' like so many other places in the Seattle area. They are alive vibrant and wonderfully enchanting! There is a garden and a wonderful cross breeze with wafting ocean-like air in the summer. Beautiful. I love the scent of tea drinking tea and learning about new teas and this is the place for me! Food, well, what's not to like about this offering.
