Variety: This has been a wonderful experience for all my family. The tea house has the best ambiance we have ever experienced. The quiche and the sandwiches are delicious and plentiful..more than what we expected. Barbara and her staff have the best hospitality around!! We have already planned to return for the holidays. This is a great place. |

Variety: I have been going to Barbara's Tea House for some time now and I love Barbara's hospitality. I am so thankful that this tearoom exists because it's a perfect place to get away and relax and feel terrific when you're there an when you leave. Barbara makes us all feel so special, even my children and husband enjoy it. We definitely enjoy the Blueberry Cream Tea and everything else that is served. This is a favorite place for us and many others. |

Variety: This was I think my fifth time visiting Barbara's tea home and I am just as pleased as always. I always feel as though I am a guest in her home and not just a paying customer. Her service, food, preparation, and hospitality is superb! It is so sad to see one of the comments further down from another who never even experienced her tea house and left such a terrible review. I HIGHLY reccomend this tea house and in fact it is the only one I will ever go to again. Thank you Barbara for making our time so wonderful! God bles you! |

Variety: It's so nice to know this beautiful Tea House exists. I am so happy to be able to go to have tea in a Authentic Victorian House as opposed to a store front building, although some of them them are very nice. However, this was a nice change for me. The variety of teas are large and the food is quite nice and fresh and the scones are exceptional. The service is very good and friendly, and of course the ambiance made my experience perfect. I was happy to be able to buy some of the apricot cream tea and I even was able to have them mix me a special blend for me. I will return soon!! |

Variety: I was at Barbara's Victorian Tea House on April 30, 2009. I have never seen a tea house such as Barbara's tea house. The experience and excellent service, can be summed up in these few words. 'If love could be wrapped with a ribbon, it would be my gift to Barbara's Tea House' |

Variety: This is by far the worst run business, so much so that I don't think it should even call itself a business. Sure maybe the food is great, the teas are awesome (this is hypothetically speaking... their food could taste like crap)... but good luck even making it through the door. I've tried calling this place for the past 48 hours (during it's supposed hours of operations) trying to make a reservation. Nobody picks up the phone at this place and their lousy voicemail box is full... goes to show how often they even bother using the phone. Sad part is that reservations are required and they need you to fork out your credit card number in advance in order to even make a reservation. So I've tried calling for 2 days then finally I get a human to pick up the damn phone yesterday (about 10 minu... (more) |

Tearoom Response
Dear Jenny,I personally take care of my customers during business hours and do my best to return phone calls after hours or the next business day. If I have somehow missed you I apologize and would love to serve you in the near future. Sincerely, Barbara |

Variety: I absolutely love your tea house! This was my first visit. From the first minute I walked into the door, I felt transported from 2009 into the Victorian era. Simply elegant, yet so home'-y. Thank you for the grand day out. |

Variety: I live in Seattle, Washington and came to visit my family in California for the Easter break. They took me to Barbara's for tea and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. This is one of the best Tea Houses I have ever been to. The food and the variety of teas are wonderful and the ambiance is the best. They really know how to take care of their customers. Now I know why my family talks so highly of this beautiful Tea House. I will visit every time I come to California. |

Variety: My daughters and I took my mom to Barbara's for her birthday. Since this was her first tea experience, I wanted to take her to no other than Barbara's. My mom loved it and she is not easy to please! Thank you, Barbara, for your hospitality and generosity. Can't wait to come back! |

Variety: Everything at Barbara's Tea House is amazing. The service is 2nd to none! The food was devine and very fresh! Everything we ate was delicious. I am definitely coming back to Barbara's soon. She is such a kind, warm and inviting woman. I felt so comfortable and welcomed. The quiche was probably the best I've ever had! The apricot tea was my favorite and brewed perfectly! There were many tea choices and my friend really enjoyed her strawberry/peach tea, and later she had the blueberry tea and said both were delicious. I highly recommend Barbara's... you won't be disappointed! |

Variety: I was joined by my sister and daughter. This Tea House is Victorian and decorated very beautifully. We enjoyed the Lady Lucy's Tea, and the quiche was the best I've tasted. They offer many teas and they are all loose leaf, I personally enjoyed the Lady Grey and Apricot Cream Tea. The atmosphere is very enjoyable and pleasant with very nice music playing in the background. The service is very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. It is so nice to be able to find Tea Houses as pleasant and beautiful as this one. I will return soon. |

Variety: I've been to this Teahouse about 3 times and love it. The food is very filling. We always have to take home the dessert in a 'to go' bag. Barbara is very friendly, as is her daughter. When you order the 'Lady Lucy,' the salad and fruit that start you off is so refreshing. The raspberry vinaigrette salad is very delicious and sweet (just the way I like it). My favorite item on the menu is the ham and cheese quiche. It is truly the reason that this is my favorite Teahouse....granted I've only been to about 4 other Teahouses. The scone and sandwishes are also yummy. The atmosphere is also what puts this place above many others. It's a beautifully decorated Victorian house. Everything is very 'Lady Like.' I don't have a negative thing to say about this place. |

Variety: What a wonderful tea house ,We were made to feel very special for my disabled sons birthday. We were helped in and out with the wheel chair, constant offers of help but still not over bearing. The food was very good we tried three types of tea and they were all wonderful. If I lived in the area I would visit a lot. |

Variety: Everything was absolutely beautiful, the sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Our table was awaiting us, which was great since I took my lil one and it is hard to have to wait for your food to be served with lil ones. The scones were Great! Barbara and her staff are very friendly. I found a new treat for myself.***** |

Variety: I took my Mother and handicapped Brother here, on their visit down from Idaho. Barbara's is not handicap accessible by standards, however, she and her husband helped us up and down the stairs in his wheelchair and we managed the restrooms just fine.Barbara and her husband were most accommodating. I was slightly put off that our salads, fruit and sandwiches were at the table and ready for us when we arrived. However, she had explained when I called in for reservations that they were extremely busy for that Thursday, and really, everything tasted good, not stale or as if it had sat out long. The teas we chose were absolutely delicious, a Strawberry Coconut and Blueberry Cream and the Scones were the best I've ever tasted, not dry like most. The atmosphere was beautiful with ... (more) |

Variety: I had the pleasure of taking my granddaughter to her first tea on her fourth birthday. A special little birthday gift was waiting at her place setting, and Barbara gave her a feathery, glittery princess birthday crown as well. I honestly didn't think my granddaughter would have the patience to sit more than 30 minutes, but our tea time lasted a full, leisurely hour thanks to all the dainty foods (hurrah for chocolate-dipped strawberries!) and her very own small teapot of pink lemonade. The food was tasty and ample--I had to bring leftovers home. In all honesty, I have had better tea sandwiches elsewhere, but for all the other wonderful goodies (fresh fruit, amazing scones, delicious salad), I can hardly complain. The atmosphere at Barbara's Victorian Tea House is just lo... (more) |

Variety: I loved Barbara's Victorian Teahouse and Boutique we took my boss their for her b-day and the atmosphere was excellent, service was excellent, friendly, and very tentative! We had a variety of teas and all were GREAT! The food was light but filling and there was an excellent variety of everything to please all 8 of us at the table. The price was very reasonable and I loved the fact that once we were done eating and having tea we were able to walk around and shop. I was able to pick up a couple of adoring angels and a cute charm bracelet for myself. I definitely recommend this tea house. I know that I will be Back again and again!!! |

Variety: This tea house is EVERY bit of a 5 STAR!!!!! After touring over a dozen tea houses in California that were 'supposably' rated high, Barbara's Tea House was the first to really live up to it's 7th place ranking. The tea's are creatively blended by Barbara herself, they were all truly GREAT!!! The food really surpassed our every expectation, from the salad (great dressing) to the egg salad sandwich, but the best was the tuna. It ONLY get's better....the quiche was not your typical quiche, finally a moist quiche that was not over cooked. The desserts: where do I start, the lemon bars & the brownies were fantastic, however the chocolate dipped strawberries with the sprinkles were more than worth the calories :) What makes this tea house rank so high is Barbara's ... Variety: When I go to tearooms, I really want to find not only a place with decent food, but a place with a very nice ambiance where I can feel that I really got away and was able to relax and feel great!! Last week I found the perfect place for my little get-away. I left Barbara's Tearoom feeling not only satisfied, but incredibly relaxed and happy. |

Variety: Barbara and Staff: Happy Birthday to ME! We all came for tea to your friendly chateau, it’s where tea lovers go. The scones were so tasty, all the teas, a delight and desserts to the max, over some we did fight. Since we couldn’t decide which things we like best, We’re all coming back. Your tea house is the best. Thank you, Nancy |

Variety: We drive almost an hour to go to Barbara's Tea House! My whole family loves it! My son (11 yrs.) said Barbara served the best salad he has ever had! The portions Barbara serves are more than any tea house I have ever been too. The touch of the birthday cake candle and even the Valentine momento was very special! I have recommended this tea house to all of my friends. It's definitely worth the drive! |

Variety: I was very impressed with Barbara's Tea House. The food was excellent - hearty portions and the warm, just out of the oven scone was delicious. We had 4 varieties of tea and each were very good. I came with a party of 10 - and everyone had a good time, from the littlest one to the eldest. Barbara was an excellent hostess. I will definitely be back. |

Variety: hank you for such a great tea. I want to make something very clear about this tearoom. My girlfriend and I were sitting at the table next to the person named Edlana and I will disagree with everything she has said about this tearoom. The dressing for the salad is one of the best I have tasted and the scones are the best I have tasted in a very long time. The sandwiches and the quiche are delicious. Barbara had plenty of time to spend with all of us, especially with Edlana and her friend because she was even discussing 'weight watchers' with them. Barbara, offered us all many choices of teas and even gave us all a Valentine's Day Keepsake!! It seems to me that they have another agenda for their review. THIS TEAROOM IS A MUST FOR ALL!!! |

Variety: I love this tearoom. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is exceptional. Barbara, and her staff take care of you until the very end of your stay. There are many varieties of teas, my favorite is the Cinnamon Spice. My friends and I will definitely return. |

Variety: My friend and I love going to tea to celebrate special occasions and we are always looking for a new tea room. This time we were celebrating my birthday. We both were very disappointed. It is a lovely victorian decoration with beautiful table settings. Barbara is a very friendly and sweet hostess, but too busy for excellent service. The first disappointment was all three pots of tea were over steeped, coming to the table black as coffee and bitter. Our salad would have been delicious if it were not swimming in the dressing. Our sandwiches were all on crossiants, and again way too much dressing/spread. We had so hoped to find this tea room suitable, because it is just around the corner from my friend's residence. Barbara shorten the steeping time, use less dressing and I will try again. |

Variety: My three best friends surprised me and took me to high tea for my 50th birthday. They know I love to go to tea and Barbara's Tea House is my favorite. As always Barbara made us feel so special and catered to our every need. Thanks again Barbara. You are the greatest. |

Variety: I have been to this fabulous tea house on several occassions: birthday party(party of 12), afternoon tea(party of 4), and a baby shower(party of 39) and a few other times (small parties). During every visit, the service, food, and hospitality was absolutely wonderful! Barbara and her staff are very friendly. They make you feel as if you were family. When you walk into this Victorian house, you feel like you are in a different era. You can purchase or borrow their hats to add to the event. On every occassion, Barbara and her staff have greeted us with such kindness- a very welcoming atmosphere. The victorian house is absolutely gorgeous! The service is wonderful. Variety: Today in honor of my daughter's birthday my mom, daughter and I chose Barbara's Victorian Teahouse as our venue to celebrate. This Teahouse is adorned with whimsical trinkets, one of kind china tea settings and beautifully decorated christams trees everywhere. I highly recommened 'Queen Barbara's Tea.' The gourmet quiche is exquisite! The homeade desserts are divine and the teas are mellow and frangrant. Okay, now let's get to the big tada of this establishment---BARBARA!!! We felt so welcomed. She's most definetly the heartbeat of the tearoom (we just about wanted to take her home with us). If you're looking for an afternoon where you can feast and do a liitle shopping all under one roof, this is the place. You will not be disappionted. All staff members are pleasant and welcoming. I most definetly plan on revisiting. |

Variety: We love to visit tearooms when we travel and we found Barbara's Tearoom to be one of the most exciting and beautiful. We will recommend to everyone. |

Variety: I took my special friend of 35 yrs. to Barbara's Victorian Tea House and she was overwhelmed by the graciousness of Barbara and the lovely presentation of foods. The tea selection was fantastic and was very hot and refilled often. The sandwich selection is great and the scones delicious. The table and ambiance were beautiful and just what a victorian tea would be. We had a wonderful time and it was the highlight of my friend's visit. Barbara has a special gift of hospitality and made us feel very special and welcomed. We would highly recommend visiting there to experience a special time. |

Variety: Barbara's Victorian Teahouse is by far the lovliest teahouse that I have had the pleasure to visit. I live in San Diego and have been to all of the tea rooms there. In San Diego, the best tearoom, by far, is the Aubrey Rose, however, Barbara's is even better. I love old Victorian Homes and this one was just beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere perfect, the staff gracious and the prices, lower that most others. I can't wait to visit again, probably around Christmas time. Also, the boutique is fab! |

Variety: Barbara's Victorian Tea Hose is superber. Hosting a bridal shower in Southern California is a bit daunting when you reside in San Francisco. But anything is possible with Barbara's help, and especially when it's for your best friend. The event was enchanting; along with her warm & attentive staff, Barbara made it work out like a dream, the event was seamless (considering my flight arrived 2 hrs. later than I had planned, my 'step in hostess' updated me on the details prior to my arrival as everything was already set up and waiting for our party (picture tiers of pastries). Barbara & her staff moved about the shower incognito, for plate changes, to top off tea, presenting fresh right out of the oven delicious scones and quiches. There was always someone tending to our party, never had to wait for anything and knew just what we needed... Barbara's Tea House is excellent. |

Variety: Barbara's Victorian Teahouse is a real treat to vist. It's a lovely house the atomsphere was very victorian. I like the trees they are beautifully decorated for any season.Gifts are affordable. The food was great and so much of it we had to take it with us. The scones were round, soft and tastie. She has a great varitey of teas and to be able to taste different ones was so much fun. Service was warm and friendly. My tea pal and truely felt like queens. We are looking forward to visiting again. |

Variety: I was amazingly surprised when my girl friends planned my birthday party at Barbara's Tea House. Everything was very well presented and the service was great! Barbara made a special tea for one of my girl friends because she was a bit 'under the weather' which helped her very much. I personally loved all the tea selections. We are planning to go back for a bridal shower next month. Everything was so special for us. We loved it!! |

Variety: I held my sister's Bridal Shower at the Tea House and Barbara and the others were very kind, accommodating and they even quietly slipped in and out of the room as to not interfere with the games or be distracting. Barbara was very very easy to work with and is very trustworthy and she gives a lot of trust to her customers as well (which is a fantastic feeling!). She treated you like a good friend and never faltered. You'd think you did something wrong or annoying or troublesome but she never made you feel as if you did anything unpleasant. I HIGHLY recommend her tea house. It's so charming, classy but not at all haughty or stingy. GREAT place! |

Variety: My Mother, sister, and I had a fabulous time at Barbara's. The food was plentiful and yummy and the service was outstanding. We were there for my sister's 22nd birthday and my sister said it was 'the most comfortable tea house' she'd ever visited. Barbara chatted with us throughout our tea and tempted us into trying other varieties of her tasty tea (no extra charge). She was so warm and welcoming! We were delighted with everything and will definitely make the 30 minute drive again! |
