Variety: Our Red Hat Society chapter had our August get-together at Baron York and celebrated our third birthday. What a fun place! Dea is both elegant and funny - her food is excellently delicious and the tea pot birthday cake she made for us was too cute to eat (but we did!!) She even had our table decorated for us. We will, definitely, return for more of The Baron York!!!!!! |

Variety: We found The Baron York and Dea to be an absolutely fantastic find. We were a party of 9 cousins & aunts that gather annually for a weekend of bonding and relaxation. Visiting a tea room is a tradition that we have enjoyed during our 7 years of gathering and, by far, The Baron York is our favorite. The food was delicious and Dea was very entertaining and personable. We all left feeling that we had visited with a friend. We will definitely return if we gather in the Clarkesville area in the future. |

Variety: My husband and I finally got to experience the Baron York Duchess Tea and it was excellent. There was more than enough food (I could not eat it all). The variety and taste were top notch in my book. We usually go find tea rooms to visit during our travels, and this one did not disappoint us. My mother enjoyed the Chicken Salad and scones that we brought home for her as well. |

Variety: The best Tea Room I have ever visited. The food was excellent!! We had the Queen's Tea and requested Vegetarian. We had a delicious variety of vegetarian savories. The first time I have ever been to a tea room and had enough food. Usually I leave hungry or high on carbs. I will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience. |

Variety: We had the 'Duchess Tea' which was the middle level tea service. Let me first say, the food was DELICIOUS! The selection of scones was great...three different mini scones for each of us so we all got to try each flavor. Absolutely delicious. We all wanted more of the savories. The chicken salad was served in one small little thumbprint of a pastry and while it was VERY good it seemed like we could have had more than the one small portion. The egg salad (my favorite) and wrap (my sister's favorite) were also delicious but as I said we wanted MORE. Unfortunately, we left hungry. We had seen the review previously about the quantity of food being enough to have some to take home, so we came at lunch time prepared to be full but were disappointed. Also no pots of tea were given to us so we coul... (more) |

Tearoom Response
Laura, I do hope you return. We'll make sure you get a pot for the table. Yes, I was alone, unfortunately. Good help (that at least shows up!) is hard to find. I hope you enjoyed the homemade bread that I gave you after your tea. You can have scones as a side with your lunch...a full chicken salad or egg salad sandwich or Baron wrap or half of each! Hope to see you again.

Variety: I love The Baron York Cafe! The food and beverages are delicious and the ambience delightful. Dea Irby, puts her heart and soul into her cafe and deeply cares about her customers. Plus, Dea is a engaging person with a great deal of depth. I highly recommend the Baron York as a delightful escape. |

Variety: Passing through Clarkesville, we rememebered that someone had mentioned enjoying a tea room there. When we asked after and found The Baron York, we were delighted by our find. All the smoke but without some of the usual harsh corners on my lapsang souchang, and my wife's Egyptian chamomile was delicate and fragrant. The food was the bigger surprise. The soup sounded unusual--lima bean with cilantro--but we were delighted by the unexpected way the herb complemented the bean. My wife vows her Greek egg salad was the best egg salad she's ever had (the olives were a nice surprise), and the Southern chicken salad I had was easily among the best I've had. As for Dea herself, she's been running this tea room for six years, and as I told my wife, I don't think I've ever met anyone in my life who is more clearly overjoyed by what she is doing. She is obviously doing what she loves, and that enthusiasm makes the whole experience all the lovelier. We'll definitely return. |

Variety:
We've eaten at the Baron York several times now, and taken my English mother-in-law, who loved it! The food is scrumptious, the special-blend Baron York tea is addictive, and the bread is satisfyingly sweet. I absolutely love her egg salad sandwiches; my children often request Dea's peanut butterfly sandwiches, and even my husband enjoys some of the 'man' food that Dea added to her menu especially because of her experience raising robust boys. |
