Variety: My three sisters and I go to Beyond the Garden Gate for each of our birthdays and take friends to introduce them to this lovely place. Jackie and her staff are amazingly friendly, efficient, and always guarantee a pleasurable visit. I go to tearooms everywhere I travel, and this is the best I've visited anywhere in the United States. This is the place to go for tea lovers who want a delightful experience of good teas, great food, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. |

Variety: Having just moved to Tennessee from Michigan, I was looking for a unique place to take guests who come to Tennessee to visit us. The quaint atmosphere and wonderful staff were extremely friendly and the food was well prepared and beautifully presented. Jackie, the owner, was most accomodating and encouraged us to share our experience on this site. I will definitely return often. |

Variety: This was our first visit and we will be back. It was a wonderful experience. The food was out of this world. We were looking for 'girl time' and we found a wonderful retreat. Can't wait to go again. We've been telling everyone about it. |

Variety: My mother in law and I had a lovely experience at this tearoom. Our pot of Vanilla Spice tea was wonderful in taste and aroma. I purchased a bag to enjoy at home. After our excellent lunch, we savored the cinnamon scones. You simply must try them!! The decor of the entire building made my heart sing, and the gardens made me want to go to the local nursery and copy their ideas. We will certainly enjoy this establishment again and again. |

Variety: They acted like they were unable to seat us because we had no reservations. There were plenty of empty tables and no one used them while we were there. We had to ask for more tea so the service was poor. We had eaten at Chelsea's in Dalton, GA so many times and was hoping this was just as good. WRONG! The food was no where near as good and no special muffins when we sat down. We will never go again nor recommend it. |

Tearoom Response
Sharon,It is our policy when we have walk-ins to check first to make sure we can accomodate you before we seat you. You may have seen emtpy tables, but it isn't always about available tables. We also have to factor in what you don't see. Upcoming reservations, parties and larger groups all play a part in how many guests we can accomodate at one time. We welcome walkins but please understand that we have guests who have made reservations and we have to make sure that we allow a proper amount of time for the scheduling of the kitchen so that we can serve everyone in a reasonable time frame. I myself have visited Chelsea's and enjoyed it very much. Not all tea rooms are the same and it is not our policy to give muffins when you are seated. I'm sorry that you felt the service and food were poor. I do wish that you had mentioned your concerns during your visit so that we could have addressed the problem at that time. I would hope that sometime in the future you might reconsider and give us another try. Jackie |

Variety: Beautiful presentation always makes for an enjoyable time at this tea room. It is wonderful to feel certain that the food and service will always the very best. The Magnolia Room is the favorite room of my friends and me. The attention to detail makes all the difference here. Lovely presentation of the food and table settings. |

Variety: The Best Tea Room EVER!!! I Eat there at least once every 2 weeks! I'm having my bridesmaids luncheon there! Never liked quiche until I tried there's. Love the chicken salad on the croissant. Can NOT go there without having the warm cinnamon scones with lemon curd and whipping cream. Gotta try them. Everything there is out of this world! |

Variety: Who knew that a tea party could be just as fun for adults as it is for a 5 year old girl?? Jackie is such a sweet lady with a fun personality. She made the event very pleasant...as did the delicious food and tea! Thanks! |

Variety: This tea room is beautiful, the service was excellent, the scones were heavenly, the sandwiches were delicious! The only thing we were not impressed with were the desserts; they were very plain - no artistry. |

Variety: Jackie is such a wonderful hostess. She always has a smile and brightens any day. The tea and food is excellent and the atmosphere makes it complete. I live in Louisville, KY and it is well worth the drive. |

Variety: My mother had had lunch (and a special hoiday dinner) at Beyond the Garden Gate several times and gave it the highest of compliments. She knows how much I love afternoon tea, so she said I should try it sometime. I live in South Carolina, so I am rarely in Ooltewah on a weekday, but last summer, my mother, mother-in-law, 16 year old niece, and two daughters (ages 5 & 6), made reservations for tea there. Everyone was very nice, and we enjoyed browsing the gift shop while waiting for our table. There were hats and boas available for us to wear, which the girls loved! The tea was good, although there wasn't an extensive selection. Their food was excellent; there was nothing that I didn't just love. The thing that really impressed me was the way they made my two daughters feel so sp... (more) |

Variety: What a LOVELY TEA HOUSE, the BEST ever! And I have visited a number of tea houses from Oregon to Florida. This is by far my most favorite. The food is A+, the service is wonderful and the TEA is superb. I plan special occassions with co-workers, friends, and family as often as possible here. The three cheese quiche is tops as well as the sample plates. You would never be disappointed with atmosphere, taste, or service |

Variety: This tea room is by far the best in TN. The decor is lovely and the food is wonderful. They are now offering a sampler plate which just gives you a variety of all of the great salads they offer. Love the chicken salad and pimento salad as well. I visit as often as I can. The staff is always so welcoming. |

Variety: This Tea Room opened up 1 mile from my house and next door to my father's business and let me tell you, this is the best Tearoom I have ever been to (and I have been to a lot). The quiche is excellent and the Chicken Salad on a Croissant is also great! The Presentation is also incredible along with the atmosphere. I can not say enough about this place except I eat there at least once every 2 weeks and I'm having my bridesmaids luncheon there. A+++++++++ |
