Bloomsbury Tea Room

Jennifer and the staff at the tea room are the best. This tea room has really changed for the better since Jennifer took over the ownership of this establishment.

The food (and tea) is excellent, the service is great, and the atmosphere is so relaxing and special. It's a great experience to go to this tea room and it's also a blessing each time.

I love this place! The scones with Devonshire cream and jam are the best I've ever had. Their tea selection is lovely (my favorite is the black, chocolate, rosebud blend, Valentine's, and my husband's is the black, vanilla, citrus Paris). We ate out on the patio on a bright, sunny day, to the scents of gladiola and jasmine. Wonderful service and ambience.

This tea room has the best scones and hot tea. The rooms are very quaint and fun. The staff is very friendly. There are pillows and hats and fancy tea cups. I'm going to try and go to tea here monthly! I had my bachlorette party here and it was a blast.

I took my friend, Sherry to Bloomsbury Tea Room for her birthday. It was a very special treat for both of us. Since then, Jennifer (the owner) has become a special friend. She is a terrific woman who really cares about making everyone's visit to her tea room an experience worth remembering and repeating often! Every day is a celebration and Bloomsbury is a great place to celebrate!

We took our 4 year olds to their first tea party and we had such a wonderful experience we will definitely do it on a regular basis! The owner was so sweet and helpful. Thank you for the wonderful time!

I came to this tea room last month with my mother and best friend for the first time and we ALL had a fantastic time! The food was delicious, and it was beautiful sitting outside for a peaceful afternoon tea (on a day it was quite packed!). Also a pleasure to meet the owner, thank you so much for extending the courtesy! We will be seeing you again soon.

A fabulous place for lunch or just stopping by for that “spot” of tea. I have been in England numerous times and have had more than my fair share of high tea while visiting; including one of the grandest high teas at the Manor of Lord Charles and Lady Jane, and I would challenge any of those experiences to be better than what we have had at Bloomsbury Tea Room. Tea sandwiches are always lovely but with the added heart cut into the tea sandwiches is even more lovely and when you multiply the visual to the excellent taste of the sandwiches you have nothing short of brilliant. Very simplistic and yet what few places seem to add to give it that extra special touch.
I had tried this place a few times while it was under different management but it is more than obvious someone with taste... (more) and not afraid of a lot of hard work, where the analogy comes to life with the saying turning a “sow’s ear into a silk purse” speaks volumes. The artichoke soup is completely amazing and it’s hard to say which was grander the “food exceeded only by the service” or was the “service exceeded by the food” both were BRILLIANT and extremely hard to beat anywhere.
In the afore mentioned review of 1/5/2010 I would say at the very least “VF” is speaking nothing but “rubbish” and it seems there might be a hidden agenda within this review since we have never encountered that type of service nor the food they described.
I believe to sum this up, do yourself a favor and invite that special “someone” in your life for an exquisite experience few will encounter in the State of California let alone in the County of Santa Cruz. Thank you Bloomsbury Tea Room for allowing us to enter your establishment.

I had such a wonderful Experience at Bloomsbury Tea Room that I told All my friends to try it and they agree that Bloomsbury Tea Room is a Tea Room that every Tea Lover should Try. I've been to this tea house back when it was under different ownership and I am very pleased to see that things are sooo much better with the new owner.
The food is wonderful, the ambiance charming, and the service was great.
Furthermore, the prices were absolutely reasonable and offered tea experiences for all budgets.
The varieties of tea on hand were a little slim but varied enough to please both mine and my boyfriends pallet.
I will definitely be coming here again.

Everything was absolutely perfect, and I mean, EVERYTHING!! From service to the delicious salad & sandwiches, the best piping hot apricot scone, oh my!! From the vast selection of teas, and the many different choices on the menu, you just can't go wrong.

The service was absolutely impeccable and the owner whom was busy serving, made the time to visit each table and have some friendly conversation, also while serving a delightful birthday tea party for a group of 8 year old girls!!

As for the ambience of the tea house, it is charming, quaint, comfortable and a wonderful feeling of intimacy, perfect for a gathering of friends, showers or just a great place to go by yourself and enjoy a wonderful 'spot of tea'! What can I say about the Tea Room? Charming and Great Food are a good start.I loved the atmosphere and the food so much I will be back!

I've been here twice and can't wait to go again. Perhaps the varieties of tea offered has expanded since my visit, but I was pleased with the choices I made both times. The food was excellent, all made right there and nothing beats fresh scones right out of the oven. The food menu was great, there were lots of options and all of them delicious. The staff was wonderful and didn't make us feel rushed at all, and the ambiance of the tea room is great as well, nice tables and not too crowded. The owner was delightful, and I wish her great success.
