Five friends went on a Sat afternoon and it was delightful. A little pricey, but had a great server, and even more sandwiches were brought to us. I love the ambience and the service was very good, plus the tea was hot...as a tea drinker that is a must.

We attended the Christmas Tea after an afternoon performance at the Buell. It was extremely nice and beautifully decorated. We were very well attended by the waiters. I was extremely disappointed in other customers who attended the tea. Very few left a tip but expected 5 Star service. Tacky!

Our Red Hat Group went here during the holidays and was put on the second floor alone and ignored. Basically the refreshment were brought to us and no one else ever showed up again. When we went to have a photo taken in the main room the desk clerk made the comment that she could not believe we were coming in there. Very distastful for a high class establishment. I don't believe we paid less than the other guest. Very disappointed.

Definitely one of the best places in town for afternoon tea! Too bad it's so hard to get into! My friend tells me she books her holiday reservations a year in advance! In any case, I love going here for my birthday! The atmosphere is gorgeous, the food is delicious. They feature my favorite lemon curd in the city!

The Brown Palace is my favorite tea place. I go there often and the presentation of the food is beautiful, the same tea lunch (i.e. chocolate) comes with different sandwiches each time I'm there (and I've never had just all open face sandwiches served to me). The desserts are unique and tastey (favorite is the chocolate tea cup). It is a place to go for a leisurely tea expereince (1-1/2 to 2 hours). It is pricey but, in my opinion, worth every cent. It truly is a 5-star place.

I was dissapointed in my visit to the Brown Palace. I was looking forward to a special presentation. The scones were very sugary and ordinary. The sandwiches were 4 open face squares of bread. 3pieces of miniture sweets that were not very tasty. The price is high and you get very little for it. This is one to skip.

I had another lovely afternoon tea at the Brown the week of July 4th. The food was excellent. That particular day they served the most unique sandwiches - a mini Philly cheese steak; one with mushrooms and pesto and mozzerella cheese; and one with salmon and caviar. They were all so yummy and unique. Excellent! They seem to have changed their scones (they're more traditional now - I did prefer the old way). The desserts were great - nice selection.

The atmosphere is great and the service was friendly. But I have a sort of ongoing complaint. I normally don't drink caffeine, but you can only get loose leaf tea if you order the caffeinated ones. I would like to see a larger selection overall of teas, both caffeinated and herbal/decaf. Loose leaf would be preferred. But, especially if the Brown is only going to offer bagged decaf teas, I'd like to see a larger selection including a Rooibos and other non-fruity teas.

Someone recommended it as a great place for me and my little girls. I went on off hours just to be safe with a 4 and 5 year old. They were perfectly behaved, but despite that they put us in a hallway and then basically forgot about us. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and apparaently not high brow enough for them. Needless to say, we were all very turned off at how they shunned us. I have tasted tea all around the world and Brown Palace just isn't worth it. Their service is horrible, their food is average - why would I ever go through that again? The Holiday Chalet and Victorian B&B has much better tea, food, and presentation and their service is amazing!
