Camellia Rose Tea Room & Gifts is located in a historic building in the heart of the downtown antique district of Plant City, at the intersection of Collins and Reynolds Streets. Plant City is the winter strawberry capital of the world and centrally located between Tampa and Orlando near Interstate 4. We celebrate friendships, fine teas, and the traditional English Teatime with a Southern Flair!
We specialize in celebrating all occasions. Whether it be large or small we love to host birthdays, bridal & baby showers, church & civic groups.

Food: I was in Plant City for my divorce and was completely on pins and needles. a stop into this fabulous tea room calmed me down and made me relax before one of the most difficult moments of my life. I returned back afterwards and celebrated. The ladies here really know how to take care of you and the food is to die for. From now on, whenever I visit Tampa, I will stop by and have a cup of tea. It will be the first thing on my list. |

Food: Many of my friends and I are frequent guests at the Camellia Rose Tea Room and Gifts. We love shopping in the beautiful gift shop for one-of-a-kind items and then enjoy high tea and catch up on what everyone is up to. On one of our visits, I noticed a sign in the window that was an invitation to a Widow's Tea. Being a widow myself, and not having any close family in Florida, I thought it would be a nice way to meet some new friends who would understand the heartbreak of losing a spouse. On my first visit, I met two wonderful ladies who were so warm and inviting and just a real joy to be with! We laughed, shed a few tears and also shared some wonderful stories of our past and present. Ellen and her staff were so thoughtful and accommodating and really made our visit extra special.... Food: I visited in april 2009. There was a group of 9 of us, it was late on saturday and the tearoom was closed, but to our delight the owner Ellen said she would love to have us. We had various teas scones and cakes all of which were lovely.We also spent some time talking to her mother, who was very sweet. All in all we had a wonderful experience, so much so i am going back with freinds in october, i would not hesitate to recommend this tearoom to anyone, go on give it a try. Loooking forward to my visit very much Ellen. |

Food: Ellen: The Camelia Rose was the setting for my mother's 75th surprise birthday party last weekend. There were 31 women at this event, and we all felt pampered. Service was wonderful, as always. Misty did such a stupendous job on the Birthday cake - many people commented that it was the prettiest and best tasting they had ever had. Marilyn was such a help in coordinating this event and everyone was always very pleasant whether in person or on the phone. As you know, we come here quite often, but many of the ladies had never been to tea, much less the Camelia Rose - Needless to say, your staff, food and the beautiful shop won them over. Food: I visited the Camellia Rose Tea Room today, July 29, 2009 for an early birthday celebration for myself. My daughter and I had the Mommy and me afternoon tea. The food was good, but the service was poor. The waitress seemed as though she did not want to be there. She did not thoroughly explain anything about the teas or the food. This was disappointing as this was our first time there. Also, the waitress never cleaned off our table throughout the meal. The waitress was basically in the kitchen, or setting up other tables the entire visit. She never came to check up on us to see if we needed anything else. Hello Erika, Obviously you were not satisfied or happy with my apology for your unhappiness. So I will gladly address your comments again. I was quite taken back by the comments you left on our comment card after you left, that is why I called you immediatley to address your issues. I know that I did everything I could to make sure you enjoyed your visit with us. In fact I asked you if you and your daughter were enjoying yourselves to which you replied you were and if you needed anything to which you replied you did not. I also spoke to your server, which by the way has worked for me for two years without any complaints, and she told me she also thought you were fine and she did not want to be too invastive during tea time with your daughter. You never said one thing about you unhappiness when I told you goodbye as you were leaving. Let me also correct your comment regarding my time spent with other guests. I did not sit with them during their entire visit. I did sit down with them after they finished to finalize details for an event they are planning for the Christian Womens Club where I will be their guest speaker. That was the purpose for their visit. I also asked my server to refill the young ladies water bottle with cold water to take with her as she was working outside in the heat. Please do not malign Mr. Hooper or his article in the Brandon Times. He was not paid for writing the article, in fact he and his friends paid to bring their daughters here for tea. If anyone would like to read the article for themselves if is on our web site or visit the St. Pete Times web site to read it. We have had may happy, satisfied guest come to our tea room because of his article. We have also been featured in other publications such as the Osprey Observer, Focus Magazine & Tampa Tribune. I do agree that word of mouth is one the best forms of advertising. That is why our business continues to grow. We have guests drive from St. Pete, Clearwater, Orlando, Brooksville and many other areas. We always look forward to seeing our guests return and bring others with them. We also have waiting lists for our upcoming mystery tea party and Titanic Fashion Teatime. If anyone would like information please give us a ring at 813-659-8287 or look at our events page on this web site. I wish we had known it was your birthday so we could sing happy birthday to you and give you a special cake we make for all our guests who come here to celebrate their birthday when they tell us about it. I hope you find a tea room that lives up to your expectations and makes you happy. Occasionally we do have a guest that we cannot satisfy no matter how hard we try. But of course some people are never happy, they look for things to complain about. Yes there are many positive and negative reviews left on Tea map for all the listings. If is unfortunate that sometimes people just want to hurt your business or help your business whether they have actually visited the particular tea room by leaving false comments. Food: I love this tea room! Everything is perfect, from the most delicious scones, chicken salad sandwiches and scrumptious desserts, especially the chocolate truffles. When I enter the tea room it reminds of my memories of my grandmother's home. Not only is the decor beautiful, the owner and her staff make us feel so welcome. I love seeing the servers in their beautiful dresses. It is so neat to see all the historic pictures of the strawberry queens and Plant City. We met one of the former strawberry Queens during our visit, her picture was on the wall above our table. It is very obvious the owner has covered every detail. A beautiful experience and I can't wait to return. |

Food: Your Tea Room is beautiful, but the service is a bit slow. Feeling ignored, especially when it is slow, because we were did 'not have the look of someone having money'. I hate to be critical, but it is upsetting to feel ignored and the food was just not up to par for an afternoon tea. Sorry, it is beautiful and tastefully done, but warmness and attention to us is more important. |

Food: My daughter and I experienced our firt tea together at Cameilla Rose and had a fun time laughing,talking and taking silly photos of each other for great memories. The atmosphere was great and they are good about letting you try a variety of teas without additional charges. I felt we were slightly neglected on the service end and we were only two of five people there that day. The food selection was good and just enough of each but I wish I had know about the strawberry tea being part of the Plant City culture when I was there instead of reading about it later. A bit pricy and not something we will do very often but still a great place to visit. |

I wish I knew your names because I personally try to check with my guests before they leave to be assured we made them happy. This is done by myself personally and, or, my gracious staff. It is also done through the comment cards we give to each guest, which also can be signed anonymously. If you are not completely satisfied with your experience with us, please give me a contact name or email address and I will do my very best to resolve any complaints you have. We do our best to inform our guests of our complete tea menu of over fifty teas, which includes our strawberry teas. I hope you are aware that we also have a very economical lunch menu offering a variety of fabulous homemade food, in fact all of our menu prices include the gratuity, so that you don't have to pay anything additional for our delicious food and wonderful service. Food: Although I have visited the Camellia Rose Tearoom numerous times, I was recently made aware of the opportunity TeaMap provides to share thoughts about our tea time experiences. All I now know about teas from around the world I have learned through my visits to the Camellia Rose. The array of tea choices offered far exceeds any I would imagine. The atmosphere is one of welcomed elegance, the service personable and timely, and the sandwiches, soups, desserts and extras... all freshly prepared and delicious. My favorites are the chicken pistachio salad sandwiches, the broccoli cheddar soup, and the blueberry scones with devonshire cream! Food: Sometimes in the afternoon when I am not feeling so good, I will sit down at my computer and go to your lovely websit and my mood is lifted and I feel much better. Today I was reading your review and was so surprised that anyone would give you anything less than a perfect review. My daughter and I spend alot of time (whenever we can) at Camellia Rose. We are always so thrilled with the tea,food,service and everything else you can mention. The first time we went to the tea room was for my daughter's 18th birthday 2 years ago and we never get tired of going. God Bless you and as for me and my family you are always rated #1.
