Great tea room in Montclair. When I went, they were having a Lunar New Year event, so it was very busy and I didn't get a chance to have a real 'tasting' experience. I was very impressed with the tea preparation and the huge selection of teas.

My first visit to this tasty, calming retreat was for a tea tasting with friends. Prior to my visit i was a tea bag girl and knew nothing about whole leaf tea. The owner, who lead the tasting, was so descriptive, knowledgeable, friendly and open to basic tea questions. The store manager was very welcoming and had a background in herbs and oils. The combination of these two fabulous individuals truly enhanced our visit. I am so honor to have been introduced to a new whole leaf tea world. My friends and i have added this tea house to our list of favorite places to relax in. BTW, the decor is modern. Great black & white photographs make their homes on the walls and colorful tea pots line the shelves. Highly recommended!!!

My colleague and I came to the tea store on Wednesday morning, December 20th when it opened up at 11:00 AM. Emily and Kirin served and prepared our Chinese Oolong and Japanese green tea to balance out the yin & yang. I found the tea store to be very cozy and peaceful. There are plenty of teas available from all over the world. The owner does a wonderful job with the black and white pictures in the store along with teapots, teaware, tea utensils and books. The setting is nice and bright. The teapot and teacup that we used are very cleaned. That's a plus. If one wants just a peace of mind for 15 minutes rather than doing meditation, this is the place to go.
Since the tea preparers are still very young at heart, I believe they still have a lot to learn. One of the tea preparer knows about wine, I'm sure through experience over time and with the proper tea training, she will pick up tea knowledge in no time.
