My friends and I are on the mission to find the perfect tea house in the area. When we first entered the tea room (which is just a section of a clothing store), we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful décor. Definitely not your grandmother’s chintz explosion here! It was this dramatic, burnished gold and bronze room, with magnolias and scrollwork.
Unfortunately, the tea it self was mediocre at best. The tea was served in (very small) French presses, with instructions to wait 3-5 minutes. Forgot my stopwatch! The food was extremely overpriced, considering it was $18 for tea, a decent scone (with just butter and jam), overripe fruit, and three cookies. We did order a few a la carte items from the savory menu, and while good, definitely were not worth the additional $14. Considering we had to order the tea in advance, I was hoping for something a little more fitting with the cost and décor. In short, beautiful presentation, mediocre substance.

I love going to tea and had a lovely afternoon at Chic Chateau. However, I felt it was greatly overpriced and the food, although beautifully presentedat, was somewhat mediocre. The service was warm and friendly, but I don't think Jeans are appropriate attire for this kind of establishment. I will probably not return but am glad to have had this one experience.
