In today’s economy, with rising gas prices, people are consolidating their car trips. 'At Once All Agog', a specialty toy store, draws customers from a 30+ miles radius. With a magical toy store at one end of Main Street, and the delightful Clipper Merchant Tea House anchoring the other, why not take a scenic drive to Limerick to shop and lunch? Main Street, as well as TheClipper Merchant Tea House, is listed as an historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. The Clipper Merchant Tea House is a part of this district and provides a great example of how a building listed in an historic district can be used to its best advantage.
Heather and Gary Labbé offer gracious relaxation and delicious food – the lavender lemonade is “to die for”! The Clipper Merchant Tea House is a wonderful addition to our town.

I stopped by the the Clipper Merchant for the first time with a friend last Sat. Unfortunately we got there 10 min after it closed HOWEVER, the gracious hostess invited us to stay and we had a wonderful time! The tea was served in elegant teapots with warmers underneath. We had scones and they were served with delicious lemon curd and fresh whipped cream. Her daughter served us some lavender lemonade which I absolutely loved and ended up buying some lavender to take home! The atmosphere is so lovely, warm, and inviting. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed!

We just want to say 'Thank You' for our lovely tea party that we had on March 7th. The only other tea house that I've ever been to was 'The Jordon Pond House' in Bar Harbor.
The Clipper Merchant Tea House has it's own charm and was every bit as enjoyable.
My daughter, 17, enjoys collecting tea cups and putting on tea parties in our home. We really liked the Lavender Lemonaid you served us, and seeing we bought some lavender to take home, we too can serve it at our parties, for those who don't care for tea.
Great Hospitality. We hope to visit again soon.

In days prior to going to “The Clipper Merchant Tea House” the very least that we expected was a pleasant dining experience, as you will soon find, what we did experience, would be impossible to write in one sentence. In our world such as it is, with all the demands of our thought, time energy, and finances, it is such a rare treasure to have a moment to one’s self for peace, respite, and the preciousness of being able to take time to truly get to know the people dearest to you. Incredibly on our tiny blue planet there is such a place where one can experience such delights to ones sensibilities. The place I speak of is “The Clipper Merchant Tea House”. A group of women from Nute Ridge Bible Chapel Women’s Ministry had the distinct pleasure of being there for a Tea L... (more)

An atmosphere of warmth and welcome greets customers on arrival at the Clipper Merchant Tea House. The house itself, a Victorian Gem at the top of Limerick's Main Street, is decorated with period pieces, in cozy rooms which give permission to sit and forget the race outside.
Heather and Gary Labbe, their daughter and staff do everything to make us welcome and comfortable. We return because as soon as Heather knows we have arrived she brews our tea, exactly the way we like it. She has done this every time I visit including when I have been a part of a larger party. The tea menu is all that one could want with delicious sandwiches including chicken salad on a croissant, and fresh baked scones served with lemon curd and Devon cream. The service is friendly and very accomodating. I took my... (more)

Our Group of 17 women went to this lovely Tea House just before Christmas. All the tea rooms were beautifully decorated for Christmas (not your average decorations), which made it special for us.
Our waitress 'Becky' couldn't have been more kind and efficient and 'Gary', the owner of the Tea House, was charming to all the ladies.
Our meals were served with excellence and they were delicious …also very ample! We loved using real linen napkins.
We’re already making plans to go back for our spring fling!

While visiting Maine, I traveled to Limerick to try this Tea Room. The experience far exceeded my highest expectations! The tea service is unsurpassed, the homemade rolls, the beef barley soup, and chicken pot pie tasted delicious! The deserts were heavenly! The tea rooms are decorated like An English Victorian grand Mansion, yet are warm and inviting. The proprietor Heather, is a remarkable woman. Much attention to detail is given at this tea room.
