What a wonderful little gem of a Tea Room! I was so happy to find a new place for tea. My mother-in-law and I were visiting The Plains to do a little shopping at the yarn shop and were happy to find that we could have tea just two doors down. She and I love doing teas together and have agreed that this one ranks the highest. As soon as we ordered our hostess promptly made our sandwiches and the presentations was so nice. We felt welcomed and comfortable and very relaxed. The dessert presentation was wonderful and very generous. The food was the best quality, fresh and delicious. We were pleased also that we did not leave hungry, in fact very full and had to have the delicious pumpkin bread wrapped up for home. I would highly recommend this tea shop to anyone who likes an authentic English Tea, taken in a quaint shop with a friendly hostess who clearly is pasionate about tea. Oh and the scones were to die for!

My friends and I tried this supposedly lovely spot in the quaint village of The Plains. Unfortunatley, we were quite disappointed. The hostess was dressed in sweats and tennis shoes and was quite disheveled. The food was something from Costco. The picture on her site is IT!!! There are three tables in the back of what's supposed to be an antique shop. Such a shame as The Plains is a quaint village. We won't be back

tearoom response
I'm very sorry they were disappointed, and surprised because they expressed no dissatisfaction while here. Most of our patrons seem to enjoy their time with us. Actually, we have 5 tables (seating 14), our pastries come from 2 excellent local bakeries, and while our hostess does wear tennis shoes because she's on her feet all day, she does not (would never) wear sweats to work. What's most disturbing about this review is the angry undertone -- as if we not only fell short, but also somehow offended or deceived them. We do not pretend to high tea at the Savoy; it's a simple country tea room in a little shop in a small town, and most folks find it charming. I wish Susan would come back to give us another chance or at least accept a full refund.

The service, ambiance, teas and cakes were a revelation in this gem of a antique shop in the quaint town of The Plains. Especially loved the touch of whimsy and soothing pastoral Tea room decor. Recommend the without hesitation.

This is a small antique shop with an interesting collection nicely presented and clean. Tea room is in the back - not crowded. Very pleasant service. Loose tea and teabags available. /we shared an assortment of tea sandwiches which were good. The highlight was the scone which was large, light and moist served with Devonshire cream, butter and jam. Wonderful. Very relaxing. Very moderately priced and well worth another visit.

Excellent variety of loose and bagged teas, served with traditional English Tea Room fare. Scones are especially delicious!

The atmosphere is calm and soothing. It's a great place to spend some time while visiting The Plains.

This is a terrific place. Very pretty and comfortable. The owner and staff are warm and friendly. There are many selections of teas to choose (my favorite, Yorkshire Gold, was available) and there is a choice of high-tea or a smaller version. The scones and tea breads were delicious.

To get to the tearoom you must walk through a wonderful antiques shop that has quality items as well as many beautiful teapots and cups.

Plus the town is very cool!
