Variety: What a perfect afternoon. From all the details, with fresh flowers to delicate china to the lush gardens and the tour of the city..all add up to make a real deal. The best part is Bonnie, the owner, who makes you feel like a personal guest in her home, she's warm and lovely and engages you in conversation about Victorian tea life and her city which is so much fun. A fabulous experience from beginning to end. |

Variety: Delicious food weel prepared, warm atmosphere and the prsonalized service....who could ask for more? Being a baker myself, I can appreciate that labor of love that the owner puts into this establishment. I will be returning here many more times. |

Variety: Bonnie is one of a kind. The enthusiasm for what she does is so obvious, it draws you into the past not only with the history of the city, but a true Victorian tea, which is an art that is almost forgotten. We have been several times and I must say each time is a new experience---A must do if you want to experience life in the 19th century. |

Variety: Well organized, pleasant, slow paced tour with excellent presentation. It is well fitting and reminescent of slower paced dys of the Old South, as well as the genteel atmosphere and environment of the teatime. |

Variety: This was my first formal tea so was uncertain what to expect...what a pleasant surprise! The lovely Miz Billie Greene and I were warmly greeted by our hostess who welcomed us into her comfortable, antique-filled home as if we were family stopping by to visit. The atmosphere was inviting and authentic, the food was visually appealing, delicious and served with a quite good tasting tea (would like to try more than one flavor but that may be so we make a return trip:) It was a beautiful day and Bonnie was a fun, knowledgeable tour guide as she showed us a bit of the charm and history of Elizabeth City. Thank you for a great experience that I highly recommend! - Terri Anastasi 09/22/09 |

Variety: When my family visited us in August 2009, I wanted to treat them to something special that would give them a little flavor of the history of Elizabeth City. I saw De'Tours online and decided to give it a try. Being new to the Hertford, NC area, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was hopeful it would be a pleasant experience for all the different age groups--teens through senior citizens. When Bonnie greeted us, she made us feel like we were long-time friends stopping by for a visit. As you walk into her home, you feel as if you are transformed back in time. Stepping into the dining room, you will be impressed by the beautifully-set table--many of the pieces inherited from Bonnie's family. Once seated and given a little history, the goodies arrive on beautifully- displayed trays. All ar... (more) |
