Variety: Fantastic, what an experience. I have had tea at most of the Tea establishments shown on Tea Map in the Greater Hampton Roads area and this place stands alone! It is no wonder they were voted one of the top ten tearooms in the US. This place is exceptional. On arrival our names were on a welcome sign outside, from the minute we entered we were warmly welcomed and treated like royalty. We were introduced to teas we would never dreamed of having. Our scones were light, and the devonshire cream to die for. The food exceptionally fresh with beautiful presentation including fresh flowers. The service is professional and friendly, you can tell the owner loves doing what she does. This is a first class act which other Tea Houses don't even come close to, you arrive as customers and leave as friends, a rare gift in today's world. Make reservations, as she can get busy! Thank you De'Tours for an absolutely delightful afternoon spent in your little slice of heaven. |

Variety: Mrs. Bonnie was generous enough to host Girls Incorporated of the Albemarle at her beautiful home. She made accommodations for over 20 girls. She taught them etiquette and manners in a fun way. Afterwards, the girls got to tour the home and hear its fascinating history. They are still talking about it! I recommend De'Tours to everyone! |

Variety: Bonnie is one of a kind. The enthusiasm for what she does is so obvious, it draws you into the past not only with the history of the city, but a true Victorian tea, which is an art that is almost forgotten. We have been several times and I must say each time is a new experience--A must do if you want to experience life in the 19th century. |

Enjoyed our day with the owner, her knowledge of the city is amazing and her food was equally amazing. Lots of love in her homemade items. Such a beautiful home the owners restored and history come alive here. A must do when in town or passing through. |

Variety: We had a wonderful tea party - and I don't mean the Boston variety! Bonnie was gracious and enthusiastic and went to great effort to welcome and adapt her menu to my 4 and 6 year old granddaughters. I believe she called it a 'Teddy Bear Tea' and appropriately, each girl received a white bear to take home. A very nice touch! The girls were introduced to proper tea etiquette and we all learned about the history behind many of the serving pieces and antiques in her lovely Victorian home. The food was delicious and certainly plentiful: my granddaughters loved (and depleted) her sugar cubes! I hope to return and have time to take the historic city tour next time. |

Variety: After a very entertaining tour of historic Elizabeth City we had tea in Bonnie's 1853 brick home. Painstakingly restored in a six year process the surroundings truly let you travel back to the Victorian age. The all homemade tea time was excellent and we know quite a few comparisons (we live in Victoria, BC). The hospitality is second to none. We were treated like old friends rather than tour guests. Time flew by. This is the best tea time experience we ever had in a very friendly and private atmosphere. Thank you Bonnie, we will come back sometimes. |
