What an enjoyable experience. A step back in time when women wore hats and actually sat down to eat with fine china, silver and linens. Bonnie exudes her love for antiques and her humor comes through as she shares the history of the home and furnishings. The food was light fare, tasty, and well presented. I will definitely come back.

What a lovely afternoon we had! It couldn't have been a more perfect time spent with my friends, and our hostess Bonnie is a great conversationalist and very knowledgeable about all the things I find interesting -- food, art, antiques and history. Will definitely do this again.

As Carol said, the four of us had a lovely afternoon with De'Tours. The tea was served on beautiful antique china, with a lovely presentation of the delicious food on tiered serving dishes, in a Victorian girly setting. :) Bonnie was a welcoming and informational hostess. :)

We took our two young girls and my parents and I'm not sure who had more fun! Bonnie used to be a school teacher and knew just how to entertain and keep the little ones occupied as well as entertaining the rest of us too. The food/tea presentation was lovely! Everything was delicious... The house is beautiful. We can't wait to visit again.

My daughter surprised me with an intimate tea party for two.(I am undergoing chemotherapy so she flew in from Arizona to check on her mommie and to take me for tea.) Bonnie's De'Tours of Elizabeth City is absolutely beautiful with her fabulous and generous tour of her home. The food presentation was 'spot-on' and melted in our mouth. Teas were delightful and served piping hot. We enjoyed ourselves and it was such a welcomed distraction from all the doctors' appointments and chemo sessions. Thanks, Bonnie for everything and making this day a memorable one!

A..maz...ing! Our group went here for an afternoon tea last month. The owner was extremely hospitable, and the quality of the food was outstanding.

Afterwards we toured the garden and viewed the oasis of calm and tranqulity.

These folks take gastronomy and hospitality seriously, and if you are in the area, this is a 'must stop' place to take a break, sample some fine food, and relax.

Make a reservation!!

Hosted my bridal shower here last month and it was over the top! The owner was more than helpful in arranging everything for my perfect day. The food presentation was beautiful as well as delicious. The home is the oldest brick house in the city and filled with lovely antiques. You feel like you are back in the 1800's when you are here. Thank you so much for a day that I will always remember. If you are looking for a special place to celebrate a special event, I recommend De'Tours for all your needs. You will not be disappointed.

We took a group of young girls from our after-school program to learn about etiquette and traditional teas. The girls had a great time trying the tea cakes and cookies, looking around the house, and learning about what life was like many years ago. The host is very upbeat and informative!

My friends, daughter, and two young granddaughters enjoyed a wonderful tea this afternoon. The tea was so flavorful, the scones and cream sweet and delicious, the tea sandwiches savory and filled with fresh herbs, and the little dessert treats caused all of us to make yummy sounds! My 9 year old granddaughter loves this tea house and made sure she used the sugar cubes in her tea. Bonnie Calliotte(the tea lady)even presented a vintage high chair for my 11 month old granddaughter to use. We thank Bonnie for a wonderful experience on this warm day in June. May 15th 2013

Fantastic, what an experience. I have had tea at most of the Tea establishments shown on Tea Map in the Greater Hampton Roads area and this place stands alone! It is no wonder they were voted one of the top ten tearooms in the US. This place is exceptional. On arrival our names were on a welcome sign outside, from the minute we entered we were warmly welcomed and treated like royalty. We were introduced to teas we would never dreamed of having. Our scones were light, and the devonshire cream to die for. The food exceptionally fresh with beautiful presentation including fresh flowers. The service is professional and friendly, you can tell the owner loves doing what she does. This is a first class act which other Tea Houses don't even come close to, you arrive as customers and leave as friends, a rare gift in today's world. Make reservations, as she can get busy! Thank you De'Tours for an absolutely delightful afternoon spent in your little slice of heaven.

Mrs. Bonnie was generous enough to host Girls Incorporated of the Albemarle at her beautiful home. She made accommodations for over 20 girls. She taught them etiquette and manners in a fun way. Afterwards, the girls got to tour the home and hear its fascinating history. They are still talking about it! I recommend De'Tours to everyone!

Bonnie is one of a kind. The enthusiasm for what she does is so obvious, it draws you into the past not only with the history of the city, but a true Victorian tea, which is an art that is almost forgotten. We have been several times and I must say each time is a new experience--A must do if you want to experience life in the 19th century.

How Fun!
My husband and I recently decided to do something a little different while vacationing at the Outer Banks. We spent the afternoon with Bonnie, having a delicious tea and hearing many stories about the house and the town. Bonnie is a wonderful cook, knowledgeable tour guide, and gracious host. It was a wonderful, relaxing afternoon. Highly recommended!
