Food: I must say, that I'm so late in writing this, much deserved review. I had a party for my daughter's 9th birthday, December 15th: I had called most tea rooms in San Diego to accomodate 12 girls plus 2 adults. All of them said, that they were doing 'Christmas Teas' and they did not have bookings during this time for children's tea parties. When I found Donna Maria's Tea Time online, I had to call. She answered the phone so pleasantly, and was so very kind. She too, said they were serving only Christmas Tea: a menu that was for adult tastes. I told her I understood. She then asked what date I needed and who the party was for. I told her this: 'My daughter is turning nine. The theme is 'Hollywood... GOD'S SUPER STARS'. It wwas sooo much fun to see all the girls get out of the Limo and walk the 'red carpet'. They seemed to enjoy their visit. Danica is a beautiful young lady as well as all of her guest. Food: From the minute you walk into this beautiful tea room, you are greeted with such graciousness by Donna Maria. The tea room epitomizes the elegance of tea: soft music playing, wonderful table settings and food presented beautifully on tiered servers. The tea selection is fantastic - all high quality loose leaf teas which Donna Maria steeps to perfection (strains the leaves!) and then serves in a teapot kept warm by candlelight. You won't leave hungry, either. An incredible amount of food with every bite as tasty as the next thing you try as you work down the tiers! Devon cream (not whipped cream), lemon curd, amazing scones and creative sandwiches. I only wish I lived closer so I could visit more. I'll be looking forward to my next tea time experience with Donna Maria. Don't miss it! |

Food: From just entering Donna Maria's to the wonderful service provided, you feel at home. We came a little early and were able to look at some of the different teapots on display. I remember being tempted to buy a unique pie server for a friend. The tea is loose leaf, and if you are looking for something in particular, Donna Maria will ask you a few questions, and then make excellent recommendations. We had a lot of fun last June(2007) when Marianne first brought us there. And I'm very much looking forward to another visit soon. |

Food: My Mother, my two girlfriends, and I recently had our Holiday Get-Together at Donna Maria's and it was excellent as always, you really outdid yourself this time Donna Maria! The Holiday Tea was more expensive, but well worth it. Thank you and I'm already looking forward to it next year. |

Food: As a tea lover and connoisseur of sorts of tea rooms (in my own mind), Donna Maria's Tea Time surpassed my expectations in every respect. The room was charming, with a Victorian feel. There were tea accoutrements artfully displayed without being crowded. There was a great variety of teas. Our server was delightful, very attentive, cheerful and quick to brew another pot of a different flavor of tea for our group of six (5 nurses, 1 daughter). She was knowledgeable about and was happy to answer our questions (more than once) about the teas. Thank you so much, Marjorie (sp?).
