Variety:
I love the English Rose and visit numerous times each year. One thing I'm noticing in some of the reviews is that they 'only have 1 tea choice.' I'd like to point out that a friend of mine from England educated me on the fact that when you visit a 'real' British tearoom, you are not given a list of tea choices, typically offered in more Victorian tea rooms. A tea for the day is chosen, and that's what you get. This is simply evidence of the English Rose being an authentic British tearoom. I hope that is helpful. |

Variety:
While there is only one kind of tea offered, it is delicious. (I can't remember the name, but it is the same kind my brother was served during his time at Oxford.) |

Variety: The English Rose is probably a nice place for lunch or early dinner, but I would not recommend ever having a large party here. I contacted them to hold a bridal shower, and they said that they would absolutely be able to handle a large party. This was categorically not true. The food was fine, there was only one type of tea (we'd been promised iced and hot, which we didn't receive), and when it came to attempting to pay, it was a circus. The manager, Clare, was a disaster. She was totally unorganized, could not figure out how much to charge anyone, and in the end I paid nearly $50 more than the price I'd been quoted at the beginning of the party. I will never go back to this place and recommend that you don't either, unless you want to be ripped off. |

Variety: My husband and i went to this tearoom and had a wonderful time! The scones are fabulous and the rest of the food was very good. We had soup along with a 3-tiered tray. We were very full. The tea service was very nice and they served it very well. We will definitely return!! |

Variety: This was such a relaxing experience that we did not realize it had begun to storm outside! The food was delicious and, while we weren't offered a choice, the tea was delicious. The service was excellent and not intrusive. I would definitely go back and recommend it to my friends. |

Variety: The food is great, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the tea (the only tea selection offered) is delicious. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to the English Rose due to the fact that I was treated very rudely by one of the servers - a dark haired, british woman. I may have been able to overlook this once incident if it had been the first time I had trouble with this particular person, but it was not. Each time this person served my party there was at least one moment of unpleasantness. The owner is very warm and polite, as are all the other employees that I have interacted with. While I will not be returning to the English Rose, I would recommend it to others - just do not let that woman push you around. |
