Gorgeous and chic teahouse in Murray Hill. Korean and other specialties which are very sensitive to vegan and non-dairy diets. The desserts taste so great, you would never know how healthy they really are... (chocolate cake and the carrot cake taste rich and yummy, even though they are soy-based). Everything is beautifully presented.

Lovely and relaxing, this Korean teahouse evokes calm within a special ambiance in Midtown. Under an intricate ceiling three distinct levels of seating include a front casual space against windows, a second level for more intimate dining, and a third level with a traditional Korean tearoom. This was the ideal respite for my Mother and me as we scurried around NYC on a chilly spring day. We warmed up with a First Flush Darjeeling and a sweet Korean plum/honey concoction topped with pine nuts. Service was friendly and the presentation wasn’t ordinary. Franchia offers a wide variety of green tea and unique herbals, two black varieties, two oolongs and one white. We were there for tea, but after seeing their vegetarian pan-Asian menu I would return for a meal. This is a pleasant place to spend time; I look forward to my next visit.

This place is beautiful and quiet. I thoroughly enjoyed the selection of teas and the variety that the tea tray offers. Plus the staff is friendly and certainly patient.

Extraordinary teas and delicious, varied Korean vegan fare. (I'm a vegetarian myself, but even those omnivores I've hosted there have been pleased with every rice or noodle-based dish that we've tried. I'm a particular partisan of the stone-bowl rice dishes.) The wild green tea is the best green tea I've ever tasted, served graciously. A serene outpost in midtown where I've never been rushed, whether I'm there for a meal or only a cuppa. My go-to tea place.

A fabulous, inventive, expensive, offering of creative vegetarian food. A fairly extensive (and expensive) tea menu. The fresh-brewed tea is artistically presented. Very cool dishes with groovy tea quotes that are hard to pass up buying.
