Variety: I'm sorry I've never written a review of your tea room. I just had to cancel a reservation because of illness and am so disappointed. I have been here a number of times with friends, family and for a baby shower for my d-i-l. Always awesome food, more than enough and such friendliness. Well worth the trip and the trip is a very nice drive. Thank you. |

Variety: Two weeks ago I took my seniors to the Log House for tea and everyone is still talking about it, even the 3 men who came along. It was a mystery trip,so until we arrived everyone was taking guesses at where we were going. Everything was so wonderful I am being asked every day if we will be coming back and believe me WE WILL BE BACK. The history of the house is so interesting that we've been telling everyone who wasn't with us the story. Everything was great!!! |

Ellie, thank you so very much for taking the time to let us know how very much you enjoyed your time with us. The Pacesetters were a very fun group and the ideal of a mystery trip made the day even more fun. Your group took each new thing we brought them with such excitment that it made our day so much more fun. (Serving tea is a very fun Job!!) We look forward to your group blessing us with there fun spirit again soon!!! God Bless Victoria

Variety: I have taken my 12 year old daughter to a few tea rooms around our area and she never really liked them. I begged her to go to Freedom Log House this summer and she was very apprehensive. She doesnt like the stuffy feel of the Victorian tea rooms. We ended up going three times this summer to Freedom Log House, she loved it. The food is always wonderful...12 year olds can be very picky! She actually always likes to make sure she doesnt eat everything so she can bring home something for later that day. The scones are always delightful along with the Davenshire cream. Victoria is always a wealth of information about the town of Porters and we love to listen to her talk about it. She is always very attentive to your needs. Our mother/daughter bonding time was most enjoyable! By far the best tea room around. |

Variety: What a wonderful day we had at your tea room. Your scones are by far the best I have had and I love the clotted cream. This was our second visit and everything was to our liking. I especially like the iced teas you serve, the frozen glass with sugar rim is a nice touch. We look forward to another visit in the fall. Cindy 8/14/09 |

This tearoom has it all, great food cheap price and you even get to shop, what more could you want?? The owner is awesome!! Thank you Vickie for a GREAT time!! I will be back!!! |

Variety: Our visit exceeded our expectations in many ways. We were very hesitant to try this tea room given the “country” style (versus Victorian), no choices menu, and firm noon tea time. However, our food was so delicious and very filling (we had no room for dessert!), the service was friendly but noninvasive to our personal conversation, and we were offered four beverage choices (two hot teas, an iced tea and a flavored coffee) in addition to our water glasses that were always kept full. Victoria even shared her tea secrets with us! This is one of the less expensive tea rooms in the area and you get a great value for your money...definitely worth trying. You’ll have to check out the “Outhouse” while you’re there! |

Variety: Presentation, service and quality of food was exceptional! Teas, peach and cream especially was delicious. The cold tea with sugar ring around the rim was refreshing and unusual. Victoria gave a a very interesting and animated talk on the history of the building as a residence and how it evolved into a tearoom. Great afternoon. |

Variety: What a delightful tea. We never had so much food at a tea. and it was all delicious! The hostess is charming and full of good tips and recipes. How nice to share with guests(everything except the delicious scones). The heritage decor makes it perfect for the men in your life too. Full of antiques and wonderful gifts. Don't miss this tea room! |

Variety: I have been to the finest of restaurants and the worst. I have been to only a few tearooms. My first thought when arriving was how quaint. As you park and come in (we have visited 3 times) you are greeted by the ladies either at the door, counter or just welcoming you from the kitchen area. You feel as if you have stepped back in time and are coming into a friends home for a chat and comfy meal. I believe more men should visit tearooms. What a great place to propose to your bride. I loved every aspect of your tearoom. What I appreciated was that there is a bit of everything for you to purchase in this little nook of history. As you stroll up the stairs to additional rooms you are able to find something to gift to another or decorate your own home. I would say that if I found something from... (more) |

Variety: I had a bridal shower held for me at the tea room, I was very suprised when I walked in with knowing nothing about the shower. The food was good, the scones were alittle on the hard side but everything else in the way of food was good. However I could not believe that we had to clear are own table all the time cause know one was coming by to do this and the drinks of water and tea, we were always running out of, maybe due to the very small glasses they were served in. I have never been to a tea room before and the service was a bit shocking to say the least. I do hope things do some changing there cause it will be along time before I go to another tea room and probally will never come back to the freedom log house. |

Tearoom Response
Diane, I'm sorry that your shower was not what you expected. The scones are always served warm here. I was told you would be there at 12:15, It was 12:35, Everything in our tearoom is made fresh, we tried to keep your scones warm, so that may be why you thought they were little hard. The service at a tea room is at a slow pace. That is why guests go to tearooms. They do not want to bothered by the waitress all the time. We serve the Ice tea and Ice water with lemon in antique water and wine glasses. We always fill all the Hot tea, Ice tea and flavored coffee as many times as a guest would like. I know that they filled you table atleast 4 times just with Ice tea, not to mention, Hot tea and flavored coffee and Ice water. Believe me I am not getting rich off this tearoom, Tearoom owners spend many, many hours cooking and then cleaning up after a tea. I just want to bless people with the love of Christ and give them a place to relax and spend sometime making memories with family and friends, God Bless Victoria

Variety: I do not recommend having parties and bridal showers at the Freedom Log House. I made a reservation , weeks ahead of time to have a bridal shower on april 25, 2009 for ten people. I booked my party Vicky had said that upon arrival the guest would all be served ice tea while waiting for the bride's arrival. Well, the promised tea was not served while waiting. I asked that a pitcher of ice tea be put on our table so we could serve ourselves. I was told that there was only one pitcher available for the entire room. There was 2 waitresses to serve approximately 30 people. Needless to say, the service was deplorable. I had to beg for everything. Dirty dishes were left to pile up on the table. We had to bus the dishes so we could eat our desert. I also had to ask that a table c... (more) |

Tearoom Response
Colleen, I am very sorry you were not pleased with your shower. I would like to remind you what we talked about when you made your reservations, First of all we served 2 flavors of Hot tea, sconces and fruit to your guests while they waited for the bride to come. We never serve the Ice Tea First, the Ice tea is served with the soup and Sand. platter. I would have served the Ice Tea First If you would have made that a request. No we do not set the Pitcher of Ice tea on the table, this is a tearoom not a diner. A tea is served at a relaxing pace, your bride was 35 minutes late,so that sett the length of your tea a few minutes behind, and you asked for the dessert to be served before we cleared you because some of your guests needed to leave. With dessert you were also served flavored coffee. As far as the table cloth for your gift table we had a table cloth we were in the process of putting on, but you were a little early and we were working on that. We do not charge extra for a tea shower, If you wanted only your party to have 100% attention, you should have payed to book the entire place. You said you didn't want to spend alot of money and this was all you were doing. We are a private club tearoom so you can only have tea with us If you have a reservation ahead of time. I work very hard to bring my guests the finest quality and kind respectful service. Tea Time is a relaxed time of fun and fellowship with family and friends and I again and sorry that you did not feel that with us. God Bless Victoria

Variety: This is our 2nd time to this teahouse - we were there in december for a xmas tea - it was PHENOMENAL - from the service to the food. This time was a Mother's Day Tea.....I must say - we thought the menu was a bit 'heavy' for a spring tea - scones were outstanding - which we thought were the best part of the tea. The dessert was disappointing and frozen - not something light and refreshing. The soup good, but too heavy for a spring tea. But all in all - this is a lovely teahouse and the owner is wonderful. The presentation and quantity of food you get for the $ are plenty. I'd definitely return and give it another try. The giftshop didn't have much in the way of springy/summery things -still had more xmas and fall decorations. |

|
Tearoom Response
Thank you Melisa for taking the time to let us know how you felt about our tearoom.. I'm sorry you felt the tea was to heavy for spring time. I base my amount of food on all the feed back people give us about how upset they are when they go to a tearoom and leave hungry. They have paid all that money and feel the need to stop somewhere on the way home for something else. The dessert was frozen because it was banana split Ice Cream Cake. This is a popular dessert we make and alot of people ask for it. I'm looking to start a menu offer that would be on the lite side for people who would like less. We do hope to see you again soon. All your comments just help us to make our tearoom better and better. God Bless Victori

Tearoom Response
Mrs Harris, I have been trying to find you for a year and a half. The last time I came to your shop to made a delivery, you said you were moving, and you would call with and order and the new phone number and address. I took the shelf you asked to be repaired and I would bring it back with your next order. You never called!! I tried to call you but the number was disconnected. Even tonight I looked up the number to your shop and the number is still disconnected. I really don't understand why you would write this nasty review on tea map about wholesale issues. We try to do a good job as a retailer, tea room and crafter. You have all my numbers from tea map, my number has never changed, yet you never called and even gave me a chance to fix this. Your shop was an hour and half from mine and we would deliver for Free as a service to you. Just let me know how I can reach you, we have search the internet yellow pages and still we can't find a working number for you. my email is freedomloghouse@comcast.net or call 717 225-6446. This is not a tea room issue so let me handle it by phone. Thank you Victoria |
