Variety: In my opinion this is the best tea room in town.I love the food, atmospher, and the staff are wonderful.I can come alone and not feel out of place.Or, I can bring my friends and family and have a good time. The special tea is perfect because you get a little of everything but, more than enough to be satisfied. The tea is wonderful as well. Will return again and again. |

Variety: Have come to tea here several times and it keeps getting better. The homemade soups are perfect on a cold day.Warm cranberry scones and harney and sons tea will brighten any winter afternoon. With the cold weather coming so fast [I don't like winter] I know I can come here and be warmed.Thank you for such a special place. |

Variety: My family and I eat here often and always find the food excellent and the service great. We love the fresh chicken salad, the wonderful cranberry scones, and the desserts. It saddens me that people are so vindictive.I love this place and will continue to come here and bring my friends and family.I have met the owners and they are very nice girls, but anyone would get upset with negative comments that are unfounded. All I can say to potential customers, do not listen to someone who is nasty, find out for yourselves it is worth the trip.We have never been unhappy and I am sure if there was a problem the girls would make it right. |

Variety: I have not been to this shop, however I find that some of the comments and the owners way of handling them are rude and unprofessional. As a business owner one should never put down a customer and seeing how the customer is the one who funds your business and pays your bills I find it rude that any business owner would be rude to one regardless of who they are. Also, one should make responses professional for example they should contain proper spelling and punctuation. I will never visit this shop, due to how I can see with out visiting, the owners lack of professionalism. |

Tearoom Response
DEAR MAE AND C.BARNES,I AM HAZEL DILSAVER ONE OF THE OWNERS AND FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE EARLIER RESPONSES.MY SISTER GOT UPSET TO SEE UNFOUNDED REMARKES AGAINST OUR TEA ROOM ON THE INTERNET FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.WE TRY VERY, VERY HARD TO MAKE EVERY EXPERIENCE AS PLEASENT AS POSSIBLE.BUT, THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THERE IS AN ISSUE.WE DO OUR BEST TO CORRECT PROBLEMS.I AM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR WAYS TO IMPROVE MY BUSINESS.I AM SURE THE MAIN REASON FOR HER RESPONSE WAS THAT THE COMMENTS THAT WERE MADE HAD NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH THE FOOD OR THE SERVICE, SO I AM SURE YOU UNDERSTAND.PLEASE, NEXT TIME YOU ARE IN TOWN COME TO LUNCH ON ME AND MAKE THE JUDGEMENT ON OUR FOOD, SERVICE, AND ATMOSPHER.I HOPE THEN YOU THOUGHTS WOULD BE DIFFERENT.

Tearoom Response
dear mea,i have not put down a customer i only responded to some one who was making rude comments on my site as well as another tearooms site.this person hasnt even been into our tearoom.if some one has a problem with the food or service than by all means let us know, but to make comments about a restuarant that they havent been to is wrong.i responded the way i did because i know who this person is.if you noticed i have never responded to any other comment (good or bad)in the past, just that one because i know who it is and the situation behind the comment.i think it is very rude to pass judgement on a restuarant if you havent been there, like they did.

Variety: i eat here almost everyday for lunch and the food is always good.everything is fresh and wonderful.i am offended that someone what stoop and be catty to post things on a web site to do other people harm.i have never had a bad lunch here.and will continue to come.i did see that the persons comment had nothing to do with the food or atmospher of the place which is lovely by the way.i also noticed that this same person wrote a reveiw on teaberrys site.not very nice.c barnes please grow up there are bigger things in this world to worry about.next time you are in town try the food before you comment it is very good. |

Variety: How come with 38 reviews, many poor, and most obviously written by the same person, no website, no events, you are in the top 100? What is wrong with this computer program?? |

Tearoom Response
Out of 38 reviews only 8 of them are negative or poor as you say,we try our best to please everyone who comes through our door and to make there experience as wonderfull as possible, but like any other restuarant you will have a few people you cant please.as far as your comment is concerned, you have entirelly to much time on your hands to take the time to make rude comments on our site as well as the other one you have left comments on.whats funny is your not even worried about the food or the service, just what tearoom is rank #1.you and i both know who you are...

Variety: this place is my favorite stop on my way to anywhere.most of the time i go out of my way to get here and it is worth the trip.the chicken salad is always fresh.this time they had wonderful pumpkin cake and cinnamon spice tea.i will be back soon and i always tell all my friends there is no place like gathering room tea house around. |

Variety: Coming back to town to shop is not the same without lunch here.My friends and I stopped by,and even though there were 7 of us and they were almost full they still made room for all of us.And it could not have been a more pleasant time.Everyone was so sweet and helpful and the food was excellent. The afternoon tea was too much food.tea sandwiches, scones, sweets and tea.But the Afternoon tea comes with soup and quiche. The cranberry scones are wonderful with the jam and cream and the special way they serve it, it is a dessert all by its self.Do not miss this ladies. |

Variety: My friends and I stopped by for lunch for the first time.We were very happy with what we found here!Everything was wonderful, the quiche was excellent.Scones, pumpkin cake, chocolate mousse, and chicken salad. The menu is larger than you expect it to be and the teas are wonderful. We all took home a tin of tea and my friend who i will not name took home a BOX of desserts. It was a lovely afternoon. We will come back very soon to have lunch and shop. |

Variety: Wow! What a wonderful experience from beginning to end. My family chose the Gathering Room Tea House for my Surprise 75th birthday and it was the biggest surprise of my life. The food was absolutely delicious. I was surprised by the extensive offerings and found the tea sandwiches, quiche, and desserts to be the best around. It was a most enjoyable evening as the owner and staff catered to our party of 25 and all our needs. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful – very traditional elegance with a feeling of whimsical. The rustic barn on the outside was an architectural delight, but it did not convey the beauty that is found on the inside. The owner was down to earth and the staff was beyond pleasant. I have been back several times since that surprise in April and recently on September 9, ... (more) |

Variety: On Thursday I went to the Gathering Room for tea and was very pleased with evrything.I was a little suprised at the menu, it was larger than I expected for a tea room. The roast turkey sandwich was really good and it was not lunch meat (real turkey!).My friend had the special tea and was more than full when we were finished.Looking forward to coming back very soon. P.S. Desserts are a must. |

Variety: Before we came to the tearoom, I read the mixed reviews, but I like to judge something for myself. You know what they say “Don’t judge a book by its cover” well you could say that about the Gathering House Tea Room (was previously known as the Enchanted Cottage Tea Room). When we drove up to the Tea Room my husband wanted to know why I was taking him to a barn for tea. Yes I will say, I was a little leery about what to expect when we walked in but much to our surprise we were totally impressed with it. We’ve been to many tearooms but what I especially like about this one is how unique but it’s also elegant for being a barn. The food was delicious which included a variety of tea sandwiches, a scone and two other dessert items. The amount of food was more than we could eat, so we both ... (more) |

Variety: I visited the Enchanted cottage tea room a few weeks ago on a tip from a friend. I took my mom with me and we were both very happy with the sevice, the food and the tea selection. The only tea's that were bagged were african honey bush & cherries and madagasgar cinnoman ( which I highly recommend). And the scones were absolutly fabulous. I think Elizabeth must be speaking of another tea room. Keep up the good work. We will be back! |

Variety: My daughter and I stopped in to have a quick lunch the other day and were very dissapointed. The hostess sat us by the bathroom when other tables were available, the waitress was unfriendly and very slow. After waiting some time we asked for our check and the desserts to go. She told us that the tea experience was supposed to be slow. The food did not make up for the poor service either! We were also dissapointed with the tea selection; which was all baged and not loose. |

Variety: I visited the Enchanted Cottage Tea Room with my mother and daughter this past weekend and had a wonderful time! The chicken salad sandwiches were terrific as well as the homemade potato soup. The rasberry herbal tea was just delicious also. Service was friendly and warm. We can't wait to go back to try some of their desserts! I highly recommend stopping in! |

Variety: I am a tea room lover and I enjoy trying out new places. I heard about the Enchanted Cottage from a few different people, and most had nothing but negative things to say. As a tea lover though, I decided I had to try a new tearoom out, either way. I have to say I now can agree with what I had heard. The people working were extremely rude, and the food didn't make up for the bad service. I went recently, perhaps the shop was run by the new owner, so these reviews must have been from their experience with the old owner? Either way, to anyone who wants to have an enjoyable tea experience, this is NOT the place. |

Variety: i visited the enchanted cottage tea room during new years and i have to say the food was excellent.the roast pork was the best i have ever tasted.and the dessert sampler was delicious.if you want great food and friendly service i suggest the enchanted cottage tea room. |

Variety: i have been to the enchanted cottage many, many times since it has opened.i would recommend it to anyone. the food is always fresh and the desserts homemade and fabulous.anyone can have an off day but i think some of the reviews written are from either unpleasable people or someone trying to be mean, you know who you are.will go back again and again. |

Variety: My boyfriend and I decided to try this tea room for our anniversary instead of our usual stop at Amelia's. Big mistake! We felt like we were interrupting her day and got seated next to the bathroom when there were other tables available. The sandwiches were skimpy. The worst part is that most of their teas are bagged instead of loose leaf! It wasn't worth the money at all. |

Variety: i just want to say i have been to the enchanted cottage tea room every sat since they opened. there food is excellent. the scones are to die for and the baked goods and carrot cake is wonderful. everyone is so frendly and take great care in seeing that everything is just so. i have read some of the reviews and they are so wrong. i have friends from phildelipha that come there just to have her carrot cake and bread pudding. there are a couple of resturants i will not go to because of theie bathrooms. this place is very clean. so to lisa and marie you are so wrong. |

Variety: the enchanted cottage tea room is one of the best tea rooms i have visited the food is to die for and the desserts should be in a magazine,as for the review from lisa on 11/30,i was in there the same time she was and i noticed they were very rude to the server, they wanted the special sandwich of the day added to the tea for the wee ones and was very rude when they couldnt get it.i have been there several times and have not seen mouse droppings anywhere as she said.personally i think she is someone you couldnt please anyway.if you want excellent food and great atmosphere i suggest the enchanted cottage tea room |

Variety: This place was quite a dissapointment. The server was rude and the portions were skimpy. We're going back to Amelia's!! |

|
Variety: I went to the enchanted cottage yesterday with my family. It was horrible. The waitress, who I believe was the owner, was very rude. Her hair was in my tea, there were mouse droppings in our cream, we could hear everything that was going on in the kitchen. My daughter was served a tea with a shoprite tag on it. We all felt like we were unwanted. The food was not served at the same time. Mine was served when everyone was done eating. I have been to many tea rooms, this was the worse. Also when we left the waitress did not say thank you for coming. She was even standing at the register. My five year old daughter pointed that out to me. This place was a waste of time and money. |
|
- Lisa 11/30/08 |
|
Variety: i have been to the Enchanted Cottage tea room more than once they have the best homemade scones there just like mom use to make ,the tea sandwiches are great, and when they have brunch with the homemade waffles with fresh berrys and whipped cream its to die for, i am going to have my next pary there and i know its ganna be great, if you like good food try the Enchanted Cottage tea room you are going to love it . |
