The Gourmet Briar Patch is a simple cottage tea room from its checker-board floors, cozie fireplace, family antiques, and desire to make you feel at home. Our Mid-Day Tea has been adopted to accomodate the comfort and wants of our local customers. It is a combination of Afternoon Tea and High Tea. We pride ourselves on being flexible to meet the needs and desires of our guest. Also, we are handicapped accessible for those that might require those accomodations. Variety: Wide variety of wonderful teas. Delicious scones, tea sandwiches, homemade breads & desserts. Sunday buffet outstanding. It's like going into an elegant, comfortable home, greeted by owners Ron & Ginger, who really are concerned that you have a lovely, enjoyable experience. |

Variety: When you step inside, the country décor of The Gourmet Briar Patch Tea Room and the aroma of the daily baked goods greet you, and you immediately feel at home. On my first visit, I discovered that Ginger bakes her tea breads and scones from scratch daily. The varied tea selections offered on the menu is fantastic. If you have special dietary restrictions, please make Ron or Ginger aware of it when you place your order. Ginger will happily adjust your luncheon tea sandwich plate to meet your needs. |

Variety: I would like to apologize for the spelling mistakes in my previous review. I did not have on my computer glasses at that time. Ambience is mispelled as is Lady Mendl's and the Pierre hotel. I would like to say that the tea food was alway fresh at the Gourmet Briar Patch not like some tea rooms where the food has obviously been prepared and sat long before being served. |

Variety: I am a long time resident of New York City and I have had tea at numerous places in New York, including The Piere, The St. Regis, The King's Carriage House, The Tea Salon,Lady Mendel's and Arium of which only two have come close to the service, food and ambeamce that you find at the Gourmet Briar Patch Tea Room. I have been several times, since I visit relatives in the area and each time is an unexpected treat. |

Variety: If you are into fresh, delicious, and contemporary foods this is the place for you. The combinations of flavors from the tea selections alone will keep you entranced as Ron expertly describes the origins of every last thing in the establishment. Aside from meals with my family this place is the next best thing. One bite and you will know that loads of dedication went into the making of whatever it is you have ordered. Oh, and the desserts.... Absolutely Grand. Gourmet Briar Patch & Tea room is a great place to eat and learn something new. -Alvino Valentine |

Variety: Don't judge the book by the cover. This relatively non-descript exterior conceals a jewel..not a jewel in the rough, but a polished jewel. Ron and Ginger are delightful hosts who take a personal interest in each customer - and take pride in making the tearoom experience unique no matter how many times you visit. Ginger's imaginative, yummy recipes have me eagerly anticipating her cookbook. This is the best thing to happen in the Hopewell area for a very long time. Make sure to include a stop at the Gourmet Briar patch if you are anywhere near by. Once you savor the warmth and the flavors, you will want to share this treasure with someone special. |

Variety: What a wonderful culinary experience! The sampler plate was an amazing assortment of flavors, textures, and colors that brought excitement to the palate and interest to the eye. I’m not normally an adventurous eater; however, the food was displayed so attractively, my curiosity made me try each item. Each dish had a distinct flavor and yet complemented the next item on the plate. The chicken salad was so delicious, I brought a pound of it home to my family in Virginia Beach! I look forward to my next visit to Prince George with my sister to enjoy a leisurely lunch of delectable food! |

Variety: My family took our mother to Gourmet Briar Patch for a Mother's Day lunch buffet. I must say that the experience was wonderful. Ron and Ginger were so delightful and all of the homemade food was absolutely delicious! Not to mention that Ginger even sang for everyone and all of the mothers received flowers for Mother's Day. After having a recent disappointing experience at a different tearoom, coming here was a breath of fresh air. I will definitely recommend it to friends and family. |

Variety: My daughter and I had the great pleasure of dining at the Gourmet Briar Patch today, upon the recommendation of several friends. Believe me when I tell you we were not disappointed!! The atmosphere is charming and the tea room is run by a lovely couple who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Ginger even came to our table to explain the various goodies that she had prepared and put on our plate. Everything was absolutely delicious as well as being artfully displayed. At the end of our meal we visited their sweet little gift shop which contains all things tea related. We each purchased adorable tea cups to bring home as sweet reminders of our lovely visit there! We'll definitely visit this wonderful tea room on a regular basis. |

Variety: I've visited tea rooms in Richmond and Williamsburg and this one is the best handsdown. The food is lovingly homemade and it's obvious that the owner's take delight in pleasing their customers. The area is somewhat remote, which is all the better. It definitely allows for very reasonable pricing. I look forward to returning. One of the best kept secrets around. |

Variety: On Feb. 1 Go Red for Women AHA was hosted at the Briar Patch for 16 Red Hatters. What a wonderful treat! The teas and three courses of food were delicious, beautifully displayed on 3-tiered trays, and so much to enjoy eating. A delightful tea was enjoyed by all the Red Hatters thanks to Ron and Ginger who personalized the occasion just for us Red Hatters. |

Variety: This tea room is an excellent place to have a tea with a group of ladies. The food is delicious and the quantity is over and above what you might get elsewhere. The owners take time to explain the various teas as well as explain the different foods for each course of the tea. I would definitely recommend this place for the food, appearance, and service. All the ladies at our tea were very complimentary over the food and the place. It was truly a tea to remember. |

Variety: I can't say enough about the tea room. I have carried my church ladies W.O.M. group out there and everybody loved it. My husband and I just look forward to going to see what Ginger the chef has come up with. Everything is always so good. The decor is so pretty and romantic to me. It's quiet and they always have wonderful music playing in the back ground. She has wonderful gifts for anyone who loves anything about tea. Oh, I can't wait til I carry my own grandaughters there to have their own tea party there. And Ron, her husband who is your waiter, he's just a jewel. Take your children or your spouse for a wonderful experience. You won't regret it. I can't wait til I get back there. The buffet is great on Sundays too. God Bless , Joyce Chavis- Mrs. FooFoo |
