Overview

The gramstand is a tea café and store, providing East Villagers with modern day retreat that invites conversation, relaxation, and an opportunity to experience the healthy lifestyle associated with tea. With a variety of seats inviting you to cozy up with your laptop or a friend, Zen-like industrial design, and the relaxing vibrations of an ever-rotating music collection (feel free to make a request!), the gramstand provides patrons with the atmosphere that makes you feel a member of the family.

The gramstand menu features over 50 types of traditional and exotic teas, each handpicked and blended by the owner, Richard (one of the youngest tea connoisseurs, perfecting his art at the Wild Lily Tearoom and the Tea Association), and the menu continues to grow. Fresh snacks and sandwiches are also available for those who come hungry. Featuring a special fast-brew process, all drinks are available to-go, and all tea is available for purchase to take home and brew your own.

Signature drinks include a pear hibiscus tea that changes color as you drink it, a lychee white tea, a Mocha Earl Grey with whipped cream and chocolate, and the infamous Citrus Berry, whose ice cubes are made of tea and have honey inside for a sweet surprise. Never fear, coffee drinkers; the gramstand also serves 'darn good coffee,' so tea and coffee drinkers can exist in harmony.

Keep an eye out for customers hanging out with the friendly staff of brewers or surfing the web (the gramstand features free wi-fi for all customers), as well as a rotating collection of art showcasing some of the finest up-and-coming artists in the city.

if you find the right counter person, they actually have and know way more about tea than it initially appears.

they are more brew masters than anything else. they have a very fun selection of house concocted brews that seem very labor intensive to make.

it's worth the trip. these guys are doing good things for getting fine tea to the underserved tea drinkers and non-tea drinker alike.
