I'd give this place a 7 out of 10 for the food and a 2 out of 10 for the service. The atmosphere was nice, but I expected tea in a tea room, not one hot choice or bags I didn't like either. Two iced teas were offered, but I wanted a variety of hot teas in a tea room. I won't return.

I know it's an old church, but I couldn't even eat my meal as the mildew smell was so overwhelming.
We were there for a baby shower and my daughter almost had an asthma attack because of the smell and we had to leave. Didn't even get to eat out meal. Maybe someone could clean with bleach or change the air filters?

This is my favorite tea room here in the States, I've yet to find one here in Missouri to rival it (the only one that I have been to that could even compete was when I was in England). I and my friends attend often. It's a wonderful repast and de-stresser when you're a college student. The food is delicious (my friends and I call it 'clean food' because it makes you feel really good after you've eaten it), and the tea is always excellent. We always enjoy taking a look around the shop after we've finished and everyone is very friendly. I hope to take my own children to Henry's one day and keep in tune with a family tradition!

My wife and I are retired, and we have stopped in on occasion and it has always been a good experience. I'm a retired attorney, and I feel a need to comment on Jill Sexton's unusual review below. What an amazing tirade. It had nothing to do with the food or service at the tearoom, apparently Ms. Sexton had an alleged unsatisfactory experience with an estate sale. I'm going to offer some advice as a retired attorney. Ms. Sexton, go ahead and file all those complaints you went on and on about...The BBB, MO Attorney General, the United Nations (just kidding). When you write a review that is just totally off the deep end, you leave yourself open to a defamation lawsuit. I would like to advise you to calm down, but you are obviously way beyond any capability of rational thought. Maybe I'll run into you at the tearoom, I would be happy to buy you a cup of tea.

Not only did you have my mom's Christmas statue (the man and boy pulling the Christmas tree) for sale in your shop, I now see you're using her goblets in your tearoom. Please don't try to tell me those aren't Jan's goblets, I drank out of them every holiday for 50 years. Why do you tell people you don't put things from the estate sales in your shop when you do? You and Mary called my sister from mom's house the day you picked up the stove you bought because you couldn't find the garage door opener for the barn. When I went to the house that evening, I quickly noticed the christmas statue and goblets were gone off the table in the living room as I had put them there the night before when my husband and I were emptying off your tables in the front bedroom. I'm assuming the reason you neve... (more)

Very charming tea room! Delicious lunch, friendly and appreciative service, a lovely experience. Visited from Minneapolis, MN and found it worth the trip.

My friends and I were downtown for the art fair and found this very lovely tea room. It was very busy and did have to wait but it was worth it!

The staff was very attentive to our needs and the food was wonderful. The hardest part was choosing ONE dessert.

We will definitely be back.

I took a friend for lunch at your tearoom yesterday for her birthday. I had made reservations, but the experience was not satisfactory. We did of receive any scones, no refills on our drinks until we were eating dessert, soup was not brought until we asked about it, no butter for rolls. The service was extremely poor. This was the first time we had experienced the poor service as we have eaten there several times.

Absolutely my favorite place to meet friends for lunch! When my sister-in-law visits from Calif....we always plan on lunch & tea at Henry's....then we browse through the antiques upstairs. How nice to have a variety of delicious choices.

I wanted to take my friend somewhere different for her 60th birthday, and we were both so happy we chose Henry's Tea Room. I've lived in Lee's Summit for 8 years and never new what a hidden gem we had downtown. The food, the service, and the care we received was second to none. And the antiques and collectibles were the icing on the birthday cake! I've already made plans to come back two more times, with different groups of friends. Thank you!

My friends and I really enjoyed the Spring 2013 tea with the cinco de mayo Mexican theme. It was fun to be surprised with new foods to try. The atmosphere promotes a lovely time to chat and enjoy the time with friends over special delicacies.
