Absolutely fantastic! Didn't even know this place was here in my own area. Really is magnificent, they have a tea cart to smell the teas before ordering, a hugs menu and cover all diets and will accommodate special requests. Food is made to order and delicious. 5 jams come on a cart and you get to choose with the best scones right out of the oven. Excellent service too! 5 STARS!!!!

I attended a birthday tea here on Friday July 30th and loved it so much returned with my husband today to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Both times the ambiance was wonderful; the food, made to order, is so extremely fresh and presented with pretty floral it is far superior to any other place. The teas were offered from a tea cart for smelling and then selection, served hot and bottomless, all this is done with outstanding service. Friday the establishment was so busy we didn't see a spare seat anywhere even the quaint private garden patio was occupied with a private group. I recommend the High Tea Cottage above all others in the Los Angeles area and we go to tea frequently, but be sure to make reservations as we saw people turned away. Really is outstanding!
As for the ridiculous comment below, this does not make sense for such a sophisticated outstanding tea house.

This is a lovely place to meet friends for relaxed conversation and a spot of tea.

This is one of my favorite places to come when you need a quiet place to visit with friends. The cottage is picturesque. The tea choices are excellent. The sandwiches and desserts are tasty and well plated.

I have been going to High Tea Cottage a few years. The setting is quaint, not far from a tea house I'd find in the middle of England somewhere. The serving staff is well trained in traditional manner and very helpful and polite. Great selection of teas, and the best scones I've tasted in years. The food is excellent! Great Ambiance.
I go there for casual as well as special occasions. Just love it!!

I hosted a Bridal Shower here a few weeks ago, everything was wonderful! The presentation of the menu was we chose was outstanding and presented with flair and artistry. The owners went out of there way to accommodate us including special gluten free sandwiches, scones and desserts to suit some of the guests. Every moment was exceptional with never ending hot tea, fresh, fresh food and excellent service with a smile. We found a lot of food was served for an extremely reasonable price. Other tea establishments could learn a lot from the High Tea Cottage, we are already planning another celebration here. I highly recommend this Tea House over all others in Los Angeles a perfect place to relax and be pampered whether with girlfriends or a husband, can't wait to return!

This is a great tearoom. The atmosphere is wonderful-- small rooms, beautifully decorated, just like an English cottage. The food is delicious and creative. It is fun to try a variety of different teas.

This was my first time at the High Tea Cottage. I went with my mother-in-law and aunt-in-law for a birthday tea and was very impressed with the tea and the food offered. The variety of menu options was amazing. And the tea selection was unrivaled. I loved the tea cart. I can't wait to go back!

I went there recently and had the parlor tea, although it's the smallest tea on the menu it was more than enough, we had 6 sandwiches, warm scones just out of the oven, with a jam selection served from a jam cart and they even had my favorite, lime curd! Then the teas were amazing. They had a cart with all the loose teas in jars. We got to see and smell them all. Tons of pro service. Love this place. A real experience and you don't go away hungry either.

What a marvelous find! I have been to many high teas and feel that 'High Tea Cottage' is oustanding. The food is delicious and beautifully presented.It is plentiful and I'm a big eater! The selection of teas is incredible and the service is terrific...like visiting a friend. It is worth every penny!!!!

After reading all the reviews on this tearoom (over 200) we went there for tea last Sunday. To both my and my friends surprize the experience (I can only call it that) was even better than we had anticipated from the reviews.
I can only say that the ambience, food offering, variety of teas and the enthusiasm and knowledge of the staff made it the best tea experience of my life.
My advice is read the reviews and then go and experience this tea room for yourself. Fantastic.

Even my husband enjoyed it. This is my kind of place and normally I would share it only with my girlfriends but I wanted to see what he thought. Everything was great. Just so great to decompress there. I'll be back.

Absolutely fantastic teahouse, this past weekend we came to this place, it really is exceptional. The food is presented with fresh flowers, scones straight from the oven, we loved being able to smell all the loose leaf teas (about 80 I think) and the jam cart for the scones. Lots of personalized friendly service. It really is a labor of love from the staff. Meagan was very lovely and took care of us with great style. The patio is pretty and absolitely charming, we will sit there next time. Hands above all the other places on Teamap. We will be back! Make reservations, they are very busy at the weekends.

My 3 friends and I went to High Tea Cottage to celebrate the upcoming wedding and birthday of one of our friends. We coudn't have been more delighted with the whole experience. Jenn was our server and she was wonderful! Her explanation of all the teas was excellent and I was so delighted with the one she suggested for me. It is Sharon Stone's favorite and easily is now my favorite. The tea sandwiches were of a great assortment and plentiful and all delicious. I had the dessert plate and loved the variation. They were all delicious. The ambiance was also lovely. I plan to go back there for my husband and my anniversary next month. We both love tea sandwich and I found this place to be exceptional.

I come to the High Tea Cottage at least once a month and it is an event I always look forward to. I have been drinking tea my whole life and have been to dozens of tea houses and High tea cottage is the best tea I have had in this country! The selection of high quality teas would be reason enough to make the trip, but the food and elegant presentation make this a complete perfect tea. I also look forward to seeing Jen and Ken, who always take such great care of us. They really care about their business and the effort and love they put into all they do shows.

I come with a good friend of mine to this lovely tea house once a month, and every time it continues to be a phenomenal experience. Jennifer and Ken are warm and very knowledgable about the teas they offer. The food is made fresh when ordered, and the delivery of the whole ritual of tea is done in such a classy way that I feel completely taken care of from the moment I walk in until the moment I leave. I've been to this tearoom before but moved away from the area, my family and I love tea so we go to other establishments in the South Bay and OC
last weekend we came back to the High Tea Cottage. I have to say this tearoom is so far superior to any of the others they don't even come close. From the imported smoked salmon to the kosher white meat chicken, chocolate shells from Belgium and tart shells from France the High Tea Cottage serves a menu which is absolute top shelf. Service, ambiance and delivery of the complete tea presentation is what makes them #1 in California and it's well deserved, it really is worth a long drive to experience the very best. Took my mom for a pre-Mother's Day tea outing. It was fantastic.....a beautiful selection of teas, delicious treats and we had the privacy of the lovely garden area on a Sunday afternoon. It was perfection!

My Mother and I hosted a birthday tea for my Grandmother's 90th birthday here 2 weeks ago and it was beyond exceptional, everything was absolutely perfect and Jenn surprised us with a beautiful cake at the end and a lovely gift for my Gran. Megan's service was great and she was very sweet and helpful with guests who had diet restrictions. Abundance of food, we took home 3 boxes of left overs. We will be back again this weekend for my nieces birthday Mad Hatter Tea Party, we have heard it is a knockout!

I spent several weeks researching tea rooms in the Conejo/West Valley area to host a tea for my 4 sisters. What a delight it was to find the High Tea Cottage! There was meticulous attention to detail. The decor was charming and tasteful. The tea offerings were extensive and included black, red, and green teas. Our party tried a number of different types and they were all wonderful. The sandwiches scones, jams, curds, and desserts were all equally delicious. Thank you for making our afternoon so enjoyable and memorable.

I have been to this tea house many times. It is a little gem in the San Fernando Valley. I have never been disappointed and everyone I have ever taken here finds it to be the most wonderful treat. I even love the story of the ghost or presence as Jen and Ken like to call her. Please, don't change a thing!

The High Tea Cottage is definitely enchanted. I have been there many times and I wish I could go every day. The ambience is charming and the food is delicious. I especially like the variety of tea sandwiches and the English trifle is amazing. The owners, Jenn and Ken, are delightful and will make you feel welcome from the moment you enter to the time you leave. It is a treasure of a place and a step back in time. We had a great time yesterday at High Tea Cottage. We read poems and enjoyed our afternoon tea together as we celebrated our boss’s birthday.

Wow! What a fantastic experience! I'm not sure what more can be said about the exquisiteness of this place, but it was just that: exquisite! We dined alone on a Friday night in this quaint little tea house, but this is obviously due to it being Valentine's Day weekend than a quality place to dine. Without a doubt one of the best experiences of both our lives. The fabulous variety of aromas from the tea cart are enough to transport you between time and place quicker than you can imagine. The samplers and salads, excellent, and our main course no less delicious. The tea was never ending, with its cherry aroma perking up our mood for this very special evening, our one year anniversary. Both of us agreed: we couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate it.

I have had the High Tea Cottage do catering for my church group at 3 different times and it is always excellent. The food is as fresh as can be and presented with fresh flowers like orchids and roses and fresh rosemary. This past weekend we went to the Cottage for Tea and everything surpassed our expectations. This is a great tea place, my friends and me went there this past weekend and we drove over two hours to get there, the place was packed with a Tea Shower in their private salon and not a vacant table or chair available, yet it was still quiet and sophisticated. They don’t over crowd or bring in extra tables like most other places to get more business. We were treated to the Tea Cart where we could smell as many teas as we wanted before we ordered and given great suggestions, all are loose leaf, no teabags here! I loved the Marzipan and Pear. The menu is both comprehensive and interesting reading and they cater to many diet restrictions, I'm diabetic and appreciated the sugar free jam offered with the scones and these were served also from a a cart with a choice of jams for the day. We found the price to be very reasonable for the amount of food served, we were all 'stuffed' when we left. Fresh flowers on the tables and also on the plates with the food. The service was friendly, warm yet still professional. Some of the other reviews here say they arrived as customers and left as friends, exactly true. First time I’ve ever seen my friends hug the server and the owner when leaving. They helped celebrate my friends birthday like no other tea place we have been to and we always go to a tea place to celebrate our birthdays, from now on we will come here, and gave a beautiful birthday gift as well. This tea house really is 1st class and we can’t wait to return.

This past week we had tea at the High Tea Cottage and I must say it was absolutely fantastic, could not have been better. From the Tea Trolley selection where we all smelled teas and each had our own pot to the delicious morsels of food and the generous potions served, even covering our diet requirements, it was all terrific. When our scones which were straight from the oven arrived we were treated to and offered 5 different preserves and curds from a lovely cart. Fresh flowers were presented with every course and our teacups were never empty, our teapots forever bottomless all with the most extremely attentive service. As expats living in LA we frequent tea houses monthly and both my wife and I agree on this, the High Tea Cottage is streets above all the others. We will become regulars and our daughters can not wait to have tea with Alice and the Mad Hatter in March.

Today, I was supposed to be at the High Tea Cottage for a bachelorette party. The bridesmaids had made the reservations months in advance, and had subsequently contacted the proprietors of the High Tea Cottage at least three times to confirm that yes, they were open on new years eve, yes our reservations were made, and that we were all ready to go. Today, we drove an hour to get to the High Tea Cottage, expecting to have our bachelorette party, only to find the Tea Room closed. There was no one there, we tried calling, and there was a note on the door saying they were closed. The bridesmaid who had made the reservation called before Christmas to again check on the reservation, and everything seemed fine. Said bridesmaid had also checked her e-mail before we left, nothing. We were not notif... (more)ied that the Tea Room would be closed. I have no idea if this is an excellent tea room or not - all I know is that they are quite lacking in customer service. They failed to honor a reservation, and notify those that had one that they would be closed and offer a time to reschedule.

We had a most incredible afternoon at our first tea party and would repeat the experience in a heartbeat. Ladies need these beautiful bonding times to fill their souls - and this one certainly did not disappoint!

I was lucky enough to enjoy tea at this 'Tea Spa' last Saturday. One member of my party was handicapped, in a wheel chair and required much assistance, while another required the use of a walker. As soon as I returned home, I sent off the following note to the proprietor:

Fantastic, what an experience, I have had tea at most of the Tea establishments shown on Tea Map in the greater Los Angeles area and this place stands alone, it's no wonder they are #1 in California and were also voted #1 in the greater Los Angeles area by the viewers of MyFOX LA. This place is exceptional. On arrival our names were on a welcome side outside, from the minute we entered we were warmly welcomed and treated like royalty. The have a tea cart and we were able to smell teas, this took us all away from our traditional English Breakfast and Earl Grey and introduced us to teas we would never dream of ordering if we hadn't been able to smell them beforehand. I had the most enjoyable afternoon here this week in what can only be described as a very festive, charming cottage. My girlfriend and I both had the Holiday Celebration Tea and it was absolutely delicious, presented beautifully with superb service and an added bonus of a magnificent jewelry gift given to us both at the conclusion of the meal. The thoughtfulness that went into our afternoon by Jenn was very much appreciated and all the little extra touches didn't go unnoticed. This is with out a doubt one of the most outstanding eating establishments around and not just for Tea.
Ou Teas were offered to us from a Tea cart, (not just listed in a menu) where we could smell the teas and we found it both interesting and enjoyable to actually smell a Tea before choosing. It is easy to see why this establishment has been voted number one Tea House in Los Angeles by Fox 11 TV and number one in California by the readers of Tea Map, we agree 100%.

Fantastic service. Even though the place was busy, the service was exceptional and food was terrific. They were great at customizing the tea service for what we wanted. Our 9 year old received a visit from the 'tea fairy', which she loved! A terrific spot for showers of any kind. I'll definitely go back with friends.

Outstanding Tea House tucked away in Woodland Hills, everything is made to order with just out of the oven scones, made from scratch served from a delightful preserve cart offering 5 jams that change weekly. We especially loved the black cherry with port wine and the lemon curd is oh so yummy. We were able to smell the teas from the Tea Trolley before making our selection and the service along with the china is exceptional! We arrived as customers and left as friends. My daughter and I had an absolutely fantastic afternoon, the atmosphere and the food were fantastic and the experience was like being transported to England! We are definitely going back for all our special occasions.

Having lived in England, I am always on the lookout for a nice place for tea. I have finally discovered that I have the good fortune to live in southern california near the High Tea Cottage. An absolute must for tea lovers and if you are new to tea you will be hooked after one visit here. The food is delicious and the teas are the best quality, freshest teas I have had at a tea house in the states. Hands down...the BEST! My friend and I are now going back there as much as we can. In fact, it is at least now a monthly ritual for us. One I look forward to!

Just love this place, I was told bout the High Tea Cotage by my sister who just loves the cute place, every time I go the food is always first rate and the service friendly and professional. They have two things ahat are unique, you get to smell the teas before ordering and a jam cart comes with the freshly baked scones so you have a choice there too. We went there for the Halloween Witches Tea and it was fabulous, and I've had Jenn do catering for us at home, the food was marvellous. Can't wait for the Holiday Tea to come!

What a lovely experience right here in LA. A wonderful selection of teas was offered to my self and friend and we were able to smell the aromas before selection, the teas were extremely tasty, hot and flavorful. I especially loved the Tuscany Pear. The menu selection extensive and also offers many diet requirements, my friend a vegan was absolutely delighted with the Vegan TeaTime and I enjoyed the Royal High Tea right to the last morsel. Every selection was served on matching Royal Bone Albert china and all presented with beautiful roses. This is without the best Tea House in all of Los Angeles possibly all of North America. I fly all over the world as an air hostess and always make the time to have Tea with crew members. We have been served some great and some bad, the High Tea Cottage is up there with the best. We will be back again, I thank my other crew members for introducing me to this gem.

My friend and I tried the Hight Tea Cottage for the first time last Friday. We had the most lovely resplendent lunch tea I can remember in a long time! The food and tea are made fresh upon ordering and the tea is of premium quality. We chose the royal tea, and each course was presented in a leisurely fashion making sure we took our time and did not feel rushed. Event the presentation itself of each course was delightfully detailed on beautiful matching bone china. We felt thoroughly pampered by the time we left! Thank you!

Following the recommendation of a friend I took my 15 yr old daughter and 2 of her friends to this tearoom for the start of Senior High.

To my surprise all of the girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves and importantly were totally satisfied. It started with our welcome and the seating, the choice of teas which the girls were helped in their selection by the owner (thanks Jen). The choice of food was more difficult, mainly due to the fact that there was so much to choose from, with the food itself (3 courses) both fresh and in large quantities being more than expected. In fact Jen checked a number of times to make sure that the girls had enough to eat!

We had a lovely experience at High Tea Cottage. The antique china was beautiful (over 22 hundred years old!) and the food was marvellous. Meeting Jenn, the proprietor, was a nice experience as well, since she regaled us with a charming tale about a kitten teapot. The food was delicious, the scones flakey and tender, the sandwich combinations each a good complement to one another. It's a tiny place, so the dining experience is very intimate and I expect could feel a bit crowded if a full house, but you have to admire what they've done in such a small footprint. That's the only reason I gave less than 'excellent' for the tea preparation. The tea I picked was full-bodied and delicious and I loved how it was presented and the sugar/cream offered on the table. A wonderful experience and we'll be back with friends and family!

this was the perfect afternoon. i can only add to all the wonderful reviews already posted here by saying that this was an all around terrific experience. i have been to the high tea at the bel air hotel and after that experience was a bit turned off. bad food, packaged teas and the service was terrible (not to mention sky high prices). but at high tea cottage all the many details -- from the flowers to the delicate china to the lush hanging vines out back -- all add up to make this the real deal. the best part is jenn, the owner, who makes you feel like a personal guest in her home. she's warm and lovely and engages you in conversation about the teas and her homeland that is so fun. this is a place to go for special occasions as well as those much needed breaks from hectic LA . an intelligent tea house with great food and the perfect atmosphere.

High Tea Cottage is a fabulous experience from the beginning to end. You start by choosing a variety of teas to smell in an effort to find the perfect tea for you. Then follow with the most delectable sandwiches, scones and deserts. It's an afternoon of pure pleasure and pampering by the great staff.

I love teas and The High Tea Cottage is the best. I could go there every day. The ambience is wonderful, the scones to die for and the teas and presentations delightful.

I have a ladies tea group on & we have had tea here now twice. It is always great & the sevice is excellent & our tea cups are kept filled. Jenn & Ken also tell us some interesting & fun stories. Must go soon for a third time.

I love this place! Beautiful decor, excellent scones and tea sandwiches, and, of course, a great selection of tea. Great place for a relaxing afternoon with friends or loved ones.

This is a great place to go for an afternoon of conversation and outstanding food... Everything is excellent, the scones are the best I have ever had and Jenn's signature salad is so creative. I challange all non-tea drinkers to try High Tea Cottage there is a tea for you. Just love it.

It is rare to be treated as a valued friend, rather than a 'customer,' but the staff at High Tea Cottage does just that. The food, tea & service were excellent & the setting is delightful. You easily forget you are having tea surrounded by a busy, business district. We will keep coming back again and again for this experience.

I have ben to the High Tea Cottage three times now, most recently to a private function last Sunday, and I believe that this establishment gives extremely good value for money.

The standard of service is unique among tea houses I have been to, especially the owners Jenn and Ken, although the other staff are not far behind.

As many of the contributors to these comments have mentioned the food has a large variety of options, is always fresh, tasty, and presented in a eye-catching manner. Similarly with the teas, each time I have come the number of choices have increased, with some really unique flavors, and the teas are always presented in an entertaining and informative manner.

I can only suggest that if you haven't done so go to the High Tea cottage and judge for yourself.

If you are not a total grouch I think you will agree it is a great place to enjoy 1st rate food, service and have a fully relaxing experience at the same time. Number 1 in my book.
