Food: I arrived to take tea at Holly Cottage Tearoom last Saturday and was happily surprised to see eight 3-year olds, showing off Victorian hats, having enjoyed a birthday party accompanied by their 14 relatives and friends - who filled the Windsor room, some sat on the patio. I noticed how calm and friendly the staff were. My server gave me full attention, even when a second birthday party of about eight six-year olds with four adults took over the Bronte room, ready to enjoy their birthday party. It was a fun to watch the children take time for some etiquette tips and rummage for a Victorian hat. I left, having enjoyed my Saturday visit - the tarragon chicken and turkey sandwiches and scones were fresh and deliciously filling, not to mention a chocolate decorated petit fours. I look forward to my next visit. |

Food: Just a stone's throw away from doowtown historic Newnan, Ga. sits the Holly Cottage Tearoom, an authentic English tea experience. Linda Rivers is the energetic force behind this establishment. One of the advantages of taking tea in a tearoom includes the opportunity to get to know the owner. We were greeted by southern hospitatily. After the tea is poured by the attentive staff three tiers of delicately prepared homemade sandwiches, savories, scones, petit four, hand rolled truffle and seasonal fresh fruit iis served. What a wonderful treat. Whether you are in the mood for the tea mmenu or a hearty lunch, the menu offers variety for every preference. Food: From the moment I stepped through the 'garden gate' until the time I exited I felt a sense of peace and a calmness of spirit at the Holly Cottage Tearoom. Located in downtown Newnan and housed in a residence built in the 1860's, the beautifully decorated rooms were the perfect setting for the delicious food and wonderful service we found there. White table clothes, floral china, fresh flowers and relaxing music greeted us. The atmosphere was one of elegance and grace but certainly not 'stuffiness'. After being seated my friend and I each selected a tea from the 20+ varieties available. We were each served our own pot-hot, fresh and donned with a tea cosy. Food: I had a wonderful tea experience visiting at Holly Cottage Tearoom Me and my friend Donna went on Sept. 12, 2009. We both enjoyed the selection of tea that we ordered. I had the Monk's Blend which tasted so good to me. I good taste the vanilla. It had a bold taste which I liked There were plenty of teas to choose from I also had the Berry Berry Ice Tea which was excellent. The food was delicious and very much of it. I did not leave being hungry at all. The service was out of this world. I was very please and I felt very honored to be there. Ms. Rivers was a very good hostess and treated me and Donna so very special. I left the world behind as I enjoyed my afternoon tea. I felt so happy and enjoyed myself. I am so happy that we have a Tearoom in my home town. That makes me very happy. Ms. Rivers and her wonderful staff take pride in what they do and very good at it. Thank you for an afternoon of tea. I will be back again. |
