My husband and I enjoy visiting tea rooms so while visiting my brother and sister-in-law in the Pittsburgh area I made a reservation at Iris & Ivory Café and Tea House which I found on the Teamap.com website. Well my husband and I know an exceptional tea room when we visit one and this definitely is one. We were seated in the Iris Room which is very elegantly decorated which made our tea experience even more enjoyable. Our Afternoon Tea started with us choosing our tea from a large selection of loose teas, then a fresh fruit cup. We then received our three tiered service which consisted of assorted tea sandwiches, a slice of quiche, two scones each, a very good size cream puff (not one of those mini ones) and a slice of cake. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner Michelle and had such a wonderful time talking about our tea room experiences with her. If you don’t visit Iris & Ivory you will really be missing out on a wonderful Tea Room experience.

My daughters baby shower at Iris and Ivory could not have been more perfect! The elegant china settings and charm of the Iris Room were so inviting. The tea was splendid and plentiful, quite a variety. The scones and Devonshire cream are made from scratch and such devotion. The assortment of quiche and other brunch type foods were pleasing to both the eye and pallet. Michelle & her staff aim to please. Our afternoon was a 'Fairy Tale Come True' event. We will return again and again!

My experience at Iris and Ivory was exactly like I dreamed a high tea party would be. The tea room is beautiful with it's satin baroque tablecloths and fine bone china dishes. The selection of tea with descriptions of each one was very nice. I loved the angel dream tea. Then the three tier tray came to the table all entwined with flowers, the bottom tray had the most delicious sandwiches , two of my favorites were the Cordon Blue and the carrot cake bread with a flavored cream cheese. The scones with devonshire cream and lemon curd were very tender. But the show stopper was the lightest creamiest pumpkin mousse and the Dark chocolate cup with creamy mousse in the center. They were fabulous!!! I took my daughter on Tuesday and I'm going to go back next Thursday with my 3 sisters. The owner is so accommodating she is going to make me different food and my favorites. I highly recommend this tea house, I will be going back again and again

Iris & Ivory has become the 'date night' destination for my husband and me. and reminds me of my favorite tea houses in the UK.

We are working our way through the extensive menu of black, green, white and herbal whole leaf teas (Buckingham Palace Garden Party tea is one of my favorites!)

The food is freshly and creatively prepared, with a daily soup and quiche in addition to the other menu items. The Afternoon Tea requires advance reservations and is worth it! The presentation is elegant and the flavors are phenomenal!

Everything is good value for money -- Dinner for two has consistently been under $30.

The cafe's atmosphere is bright and airy. The Iris Room, available for Afternoon Tea and special events, is more formal, but not stodgy.

Iris & Ivory is worth the trip!

On my first visit to here, I sampled the Monk's Blend loose leaf black tea, and it has become my new favorite! The server also recommended the lunch special of a chicken bacon ranch wrap with a side green salad. Delicious and filling! Can't wait to go back!!!
