Variety: Our tour bus had a breakfast tea at Karen Ann's. We had a delightful start to our trip. Karan Ann and her staff were very gracious in welcoming us. The quiche was delicious and the 5 different teas were excellently prepared. Thank you for a wonderful experience! |

Variety: I have visited this tearoom every month since its opening. The atmosphere is welcoming, pleasant, and friendly. There's a modern tranquility to the decor, with crisp white table linen and fresh flowers on every table, comfortable chairs, bright painted walls, a calming fountain -- no Victorian froufrou or silk flowers here. We love it! |

Variety: Being a guy I never expected the Tea Room to be able to satisfy my hunger. I figured that the little tea sandwiches and tea would just leave me hungry for more, but I was very much mistaken. The tea room satisfied my hunger. The food was delicious and the tea was quite good as well. The people there are so friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I recommend the tea room to anyone and everyone of all ages. |

Variety: I was amazed at the number of teas available, and they were all so different. The breads and scones were fantastic, they must have been freshly made. The flavors in the breads were distintive but were not overpowering, I had the banana bread, mint chocolate chip bread, and oh, the orange blossom cake was very very good. Mailbu breeze cookies were definately tea cookies, great texture and flavor was perfectly light! I find it very interesting how she incoperates teas into her cooking and baking! (Very unique to me.) Very friendly - but not crowding service. Karen seems to have been doing this for awhile with her knowledge of teas! The layout is a relaxing design. I also like how they have a little shop section in the back. Its just there and you can get up and go look at it. Will I return? Oh, yes, probably this week! |

Variety: My girlfriends and I had the opportunity to visit Karen Ann's this weekend. The atmosphere was peaceful, the service cheerful and the food was delicious. We had the Full Afternoon Tea (all 4 of us) and enjoyed each course. The teas were prepared perfectly. We will be going back soon! |

Variety: The people and the place were nice enough, but the food was terrible. I was served vegetable quiche where the only veggie was corn, a variety of sweet sandwiches (sugary chicken salad, sugary egg salad, 'bruschetta' with a layer of sugar jelly), several tasteless sandwiches (cucumber with ranch dressing, veggie paste), and so-so deserts. The scones were tasty, however, I will give them that. In any case, I won't be going back. |

Variety: This was probably the best tea ever. Good food, great tea - hot and cold, every thing so fresh not to mention the friendly, warm service. Must return soon! |

Variety: I had the opportunity to visit Karen Ann's today with my mother and two sisters. Jill, our server, was wonderful...she offered suggestions and tailored my menu to fit my finicky tastes. Karen, the owner, even came out from the kitchen to welcome us. We each selected our own teas, and were encouraged to sample others through the course of the meal (which we did!). For myself, I loved the Poets Blend and the Decadent Chai. My chicken salad was very good. I can't wait to go back and try more selectons and the breakfast menu! I definitely recommend that you try this place! |

Variety: Scones are the best ever as was the chicken tarragon sandwich was 'out of this world!' Service was friendly and helpful. We intend to make Karen Anns' one of our favorite spots. |

Variety: The decor is more modern than Victorian, but that is ok since not all tea rooms have to be frilly. I would suggest a better (thicker) window covering for the front window that would obscure the view of the ugly parking lot and provide an illusion of an escape to a far away tea room and would make the place cozyier. The food was excellent- very tasty. Service was provided with a smile. The tea was excellent, I bought some before leaving. Good place. Recommend it! |

Variety: OK, all of this 'is it a tea room or isn't aside. It was the most relaxing lunch I've had in a long time. I just finished a Full Afternoon Tea with Strawberry/Pomegranate iced tea and it was excellent. I needed the break from my normally hectic day. Very comfortable atmosphere...even for a guy like me. No hustle and bustle of fast food or the normal restaurant scene. Even better is that I'm able to post this comment on their free WiFi connection. I don't know what a 'real' tea room is 'supposed to' look or feel like, but this is my new place to have a relaxing lunch and welcome break. |

Variety: This place is simply not my cup of tea when it comes to a Tea Room. While the food was fine, this is clearly more like a cafe or restaurant then a tea room. While tea rooms each have their own personality, from Formal British, Country Confortable, Victorian Eligance, Japaneese Regial, etc and those differences are what makes it so enjoyable to visit various ones. We found Karen Ann's to be much less a tea room, of any sort, and more of a lunch restaurant. Perhaps if they downplayed the tea room aspect and focused on their food and service their wouldn't be a disconnect with their customer's expectations. |

Variety: As a former expat, I can assure you that this not a cafe, it is simply more like a true British tea room. Most Americans equate tea rooms with a Victorian atmosphere dripping with lace and overblown floral motifs. This place has a grown-up sensibility and approach. Time to get over the 'foofy' stuff and appreciate Karen Anne's for what it really is: a meeting room for women, with tea and gracious service. |

Variety: I went with a friend of mine for lunch a couple of weeks ago and have to agree with the other lady who said when is a tearoom a tearoom and not just a cafe. I have been to many tearooms and although this is a nice place it is not my idea of a tearoom. |

Variety: My mother and I first visited Karen Ann's to scope out a place for my sister's surprise 60th birthday party. We loved our visit so much we booked the party! The party itself was a great success and Karen and her staff couldn't have been more wonderful! The food is delicious (give me unlimited cream scones with the best clotted cream I ever tasted, spinach quiche and the black tea Anthony ??), I'd be happy for a long, long time. I will definitely return and I know many of the party guests will. |

Variety: I told my Mom that for her late Christmas present we could do lunch where ever she wanted, and she picked Karen's. The tea room's atmosphere was as warm and inviting as the tea itself. The staff was wonderfully accommodating. It's a great place to spend some quality time with people you care about. Don't miss out on the tea service at Karen's!!! |

Variety: I have had the pleasure of visiting this tearoom often. Not only is the food, tea, and service outstanding, but the peaceful astmosphere they created is very special.Going alone or with friends it is a comfortable place to be.The large variety of loose teas is terrific. The presentation of the tea in teapots in a multitude of colors is very nice, and the food is always eyecatching. The creme brulee cookies are to die for, dunking them in the creme brulee tea is the best!( yes dunking is allowed).I have truly enjoyed my relaxing visits at Karen Ann's Tearoom. |

Variety: I wasn't sure what to expect, but the food and service was great and portions were big enough to satisfy (the Tea-Man kicks butt). Can't wait to check out the breakfast. The tea was excellent, made me forget I'm a coffee lover. Congrats, folks, you have a convert! |

Variety: I attended a 'Tea Party' at Karen Ann's Tea Room today with six of the strongest women I know (all family members). It was awesome! The food was only surpassed by the wonderful service and pleasant atmosphere. I would recommend this tea room to anyone. Very relaxing and entertaining too. Don't forget your hat! (Saturday, January 19, 2008) Karen Ann and her staff are very polite and accommodating too. |

Variety: went here for lunch to celebrate my best friend Karen's birthday and had a very nice time. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Teas (we had a few different varieties for lunch) were great, as was the food. We will definately go there again. If you want to relax this will be a place to go and enjoy. |

Variety: This was my first visit and I loved it. The atmosphere was calming, the service good and the tea and food excellent. Not quite what you might expect to find in the area - a great find. I plan to bring my daughter the next time (and maybe a friend or two!). |

Variety: When does a restaurant become a Tea Room and what seperates a Tea Room from a nice place to have lunch. While the food was good, all in all this place strikes me as a nice strip mall restaurant trying to be a Tea Room. Just like not all places that serve a good cup of coffee would be considered a coffee shop, not all places that serve scones and tea would be considered a Tea Room. |

Variety: I was disappointed as I had read so many good reviews. I suppose I am used to a more tearoom setting. This had more of a diner feel to me. Also the food was definately not tearoom food. Everything was sort of supersized. I suppose it is what you are used to. |

Tearoom Response
Hello, Joan.I'm sorry you're visit to our tea room was not what you were expecting. Yes, it is true that we do offer TeaMan sandwiches (a full size sandwich) in addition to our miniature tea sandwiches. Our menu consists of scones, tea breads, soup, quiche, salad and the above sandwiches which are found in many tea rooms. We hope you will visit us again and we welcome any of your suggestions. Please ask for me when you stop in I will be happy to meet with you . Thank you, Karen Ann |

Variety: I have been to many tea rooms in many countries, and I am happy to see that South Eastern PA finally has a tea room that can compete with the best of the best. I like the wide variety of tea choices. There are teas that will appeal to every taste. I tried this wonderful Rosemary Mint Tea. It is my new favorite. It is very good to have a local tea room where both the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is so very relaxed. The staff is very friendly and welcoming; I am very impressed by their efforts to ensure that each visit is an excellent experience. I am looking forward to my next visit. |

Variety: This was my first visit to Karen Ann's and certainly not my last. I had a great Tea-Man sandwich along with my tea. The sandwich was great and the tea was one I had never had before, Korba's delight. The preparation was excellent. The gentleman server made me feel right at home, and was most welcoming. Karen Ann came out of the busy kitchen and greeted all of those who were enjoying their tea. Delightful people, delightful place, delightful experience. |

Variety: A welcome surprise for a man's first tea room visit. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and welcoming. The variety of teas was wide enough to offer plenty of choices without being overwhelming. I had teas there that I never would have thought of trying before this. The food was excellent...taste, quality, and especially volume...I am a big guy and left there full. The personnel at Karen Ann's were all very nice and the service was great. I did not feel out of place there at all and it was a wonderfui chance for me to just sit, relax, and unwind during the holiday hustle and bustle. I will definitely go back...there are teas that I need to try! |

Variety: Karen Ann’s Tea Room is like going to my best friend’s home and letting all of my cares melt away as I sip some wonderful tea and delight in all of the homemade scones, breads, and quiches. The atmosphere is absolutely charming. Everyone is always cheerful and glad to see you. I can’t wait to go back and work my way through the tea list. There is something for every taste and mood. |

Variety: Karen Ann's is a place to sit and relax and not feel guilty about it! The genteel pace and friendly atmosphere make you forget you're just minutes from the county seat and less than an hour from the city. The smoky Morgan's tea coupled with the lighter than air almond scones was an absolute delight. |

Variety: Karen Ann's provides a casual and warm take on the British afternoon tea ritual. The quality and variety of teas were impressive. The best cucumber sandwiches anywhere! Food was of great quality and variety. Any tea can be made decaffeinated on request. Only critique is that the time between ordering tea and its arrival could be shorter. Would definitely recommend and will return. |
