Things have changed since I last visited Kathleen's. I believe that a few more tables may have been squeezed in, making it more crowded than usual.
Our waitress was obviously inexperienced. After she brought the tea, We had a very long wait for milk and lemon. After we ate, it was a long wait before she came to take our dessert order. When she did finally bring dessert, she left most of our dirty lunch dishes on the table. When she served the dessert, she left our check on the table making us feel that we had to hurry up and leave. I believe a 20% gratuity added onto the bill (standard procedure at Kathleen's for groups of 5 or more) is an outrageous amount to pay for poor service. We will not be returning.

From the antique tin ceiling to the tables the whimsical room is covered in tea pots and dainty cups. Each one has it's own unique style adding to the theme of a special place for tea. The rainbow rubis is my favorite tea its has a fruity amaretto flavor to it. This is by far my favorite tea room and restaurant that I have ever been to. I return every year that I am in town with the love of my life. The window seat is our special spot we enjoy the privacy that the nook in the window gives us and the plants, stained glass and tea pots give the room a charming feel. Although it is a little pricey for lunch it is well worth it. Anyone that appreciates the aroma and relaxation tea can fulfill the soul should check out Kathleen's Tea room in the heart of Peekskill, Ny. I would love to share my special place with everyone that appreciates a excellent cup of tea.

This is one of the most friendly and relaxing places in our area to enjoy a nice lunch with friends. The food is wonderful and the presentation is so fun. Thank you Kathleen for this treasure to the Hudson Valley.

Well, I'm certainly not sure what all the fuss is about this place and it is certainly NOT the best tea room in Westchester (that would be Silver Tips in Tarrytown). $10 for a small bowl of spinach with a few sliced apples labeled the 'Best Spinach Salad Ever'?? With 'maple walnut dressing' that has no walnuts? Loose tea leaves that will sit in the pot getting bitter as you drink your way through the pot?? Teenage wait staff that has to be prompted to bring you every little thing, including your $20 lunch bill? This place really ticked me off and I will not return.

I went with my mother and 18 month old daughter as part of a day trip to the zoo over at Bear Mountain. We were seated by the lovely play area, which enabled my mother and I to enjoy tea while my daughter could play. We got the high tea for two and there was more than enough. We don't get down that way very often, but I would like to go there again.

The is one of the best places in Peekskill! I had my wedding shower there and the staff was wonderful and tea was just as wonderful.

I found Kathleen's several years ago through a NY Times article and have returned numerous times a year since with friends and family.
The food is always freshly made and delicious. The scones are an absolute must for dessert.
Service is always friendly and we are never rushed through our meal.
