We have enjoyed the Lavender House as a restaurant/tea room and for special events. Stephanie and Natalie made our daughter's wedding reception and rehearsal dinner an unforgettable event. Over 200 people enjoyed and delighted by the food, service, and tea. We had also booked the wedding with the former DaVindy Ballroom. What a breath of fresh air working with the Lavender House was, the staff and worked with us on every request.
I will say this about the other reviews that are less than flattering. The Lavender House is not a 'Chillies.' If you want your kids to have a happy meal take them to the that type of establishment. Their forte is tea, great food, and service in a tranquil atmosphere.

I absolutely love this place! I booked my wedding before the Tea Room took over the former DaVindy Ballroom. The tea room staff honored every request I had and much much more. The decor was absolutely beautiful, food was over the top wonderful, service was excellent! I couldn't have had a more perfect day for my wedding. Thank you sooooo much Tea Room staff. I will never forget my wedding day.

It is always dificuilt under the stress of a wedding day to make some happy i could personnaly say that the review from Anonymous on 4/29/08 is way over the top every area which the venue was responsible for was way better then when booked. Many improvements had been made by new management and they bent over backwards to honor every request that had been previously made. Great Place...Great Staff...

Unbeleavable reception hall, had our wedding reception there for 200 people April 19th, 2008. The food and decor were plenty for us. The chandeliers, candles and plants were wonderful. The food was sensational too. Im not sure what some would expect, but this was our dream reception and I even texted the manager after the fact to thank her for making it all come true. How could you not love a place like this.

Will never go back here! One of us had our luke warm tea served whilst the other had to wait near 15 minutes. We couldn't eat, nor drink together.
A very poor example of a Tea Room!

We recently had our wedding with The Lavender House and I would ask all interested persons to check the Better Business Bureau complaints prior to booking any special event with this venue. I am thoroughly disgusted and appalled by the service and the lack of integrity this business had. Many written and verbal promises/garuantees were not carried out, breach of previous contracts, treated the mother of the bride with complete disrespect and handed her a handwritten, in pencil might I add, invoice on the back of my wedding song list and expected her to pay.
Overcharged us for service that was not provided or delivered at the bare minimum, lack of preparation, asked guests to wait outside for more than 15 min while they setup the reception, had guests lighting candles on the tables... (more) as center pieces, and used one of their waitstaff to hold a table cloth as a 'partition' to hide me from my future husband after promises of having an actually partition and corner blocked off for me. We also paid for a hot, key word hot, tea service which the urn was not even plugged in (or setup anywhere near a plug) and needless to the tea was cold.
There are plenty of other Tea Houses that are much better in the same area and I would not in my lifetime ever encourage anyone to support this business

The very thought of scones in the US is stomach turning. Thankfully I have found a tea house that actually makes them just like my mum used to. The teas here are also very charming and I will most defiantly be returning to this lovely tea house.

I have been to tea rooms around the US and Europe. The Lavender House is in my top 5 with wonderful food, especially the scones with lemon curd and Devonshire cream (the standard of any proper tea room). Do not be in a hurry to dine or to take tea because tea is meant to be savored and enjoyed by all.

We had a wonderful time at the Lavender House. The teas and service are like nothing else in the area. They are real fine dining tea house. The pecan chicken salad and Pork Loin had the best flavor and more than we could eat. I will suggest this tea house to all my friends and will be returning very soon myself.

Can't imagine a better place for the bridal shower we gave today! The staff is so helpfull & knowledgable about all the wonderful teas they serve. We had the Grand Tea Party for 25 people & it was definatly worth every penny. The amount of Fresh fruit, tea sandwiches (original & delicous), scones (reminded me of Europe)& fresh pastries we had, everyone got to take food home. Thank you Lavender House for making my daughters bridal shower an event to remember!

My fiance were in town visiting family, and happened upon the Lavendar House Team Room. We had High Tea with the most delicious homemade scones. The staff was very helpul in describing the different kinds of tea and the menu. I purchesed some Chai Tea to bring home, and enjoy it every day. I recommend this establishment to anyone who loves tea, a relaxing atmosphere, and gourmet food.

Heaven can wait!!! What a delightful place. My mother and I traveled from Tulsa, Oklahoma to visit the Lavender House to purchase tea. When we arrived we were welcomed at the door with a smiling young lady ready to fill our every need. After shopping we decided to stay and have a bite before leaving for our shopping spree. The Stuffed Chicken Special was amazing and the home made buttermilk pie knocked us off our feet. So, I personally would say it was definitely worth the trip.

Outstanding presentation of their 100 loose leaf teas from around the world. Our party of 12 was thrilled with the food as well as their service. Bar none, this is a hidden Treasure!
Looking forward to returning. We were never rushed. Servers were very attentive.
The retail gallery was just as exciting. So many different and unusual things! We were all entertained!
Thanks to Lavender House! You are Great!

For two years now my daughter has requested that I take her and her friens to the Lavender House for her Birthday. We have had a wonderful time. We all have the Grand Tea and the girls really enjoy getting to choose the tea they want. The food is great, expecially the Chicken Salad and the Pear and Blue Cheese sandwiches. Yum! It's a good 45 minute drive for us but we will continue to go there as long as my daughter and friends want to. Try Lavender House for yourself, you'll love it!

I am shocked at the poor reviews of this Tea House! We had a private party there on Saturday the 19th of January for 50 people and were taken care of like queens. The tables were pre-set and ready for us when we walked in the door. Also, the staff was very attentive and answered every question we had. The food was excelent and the tea sandwiches were different than any other Tea House we have visited in the past. I don't care what bad reviews the Lavender House has received we will always go back and tell our friends to enjoy this wonderful place.

I read the website before I went to the lavender room, it did not indicate that reservations were advised. As my friend and I walked in it took a few minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The owner asked us if we had reservations and said that it would be a while. She didn't even take down our name, she acted as if she could care less if we dropped dead right there. I saw SEVERAL tables open, the place was not busy.
After lingering about for a few moments, we realized that La Madeline would work out much better for us.
I will NEVER go back here again. I haven't been treated this poorly ever. It's a shame because I adore tea!

My mother, daughter, and I dined at the lavender house recently. The service was wonderful. We had a Grand Tea and the server educated us so many things about tea. The scones at the Lavender House are the best I have ever tasted. As well as the sandwiches and pastries. The atmosphere is beautiful. It was a perfect place for us to visit and enjoy our time together. We also had a great time shopping in the gallery after our tea.

We ate lunch for my birthday at the Lavender House Tea Room and were disappointed with the service. We were not offered the whole menu - we could see other diners eating entrees that were not on our menu. The waiter didn't know about the children's menu or the teas, and he charged us the wrong price for the children's plate. He also did not offer milk with my tea, while I saw another server bring milk to another table without being asked. The ambiance is wonderful, the restaurant is beautiful, the pecan chicken salad was good, but we felt like the service ruined the experience.
