Overview
We are located in Sherwood, Oregon, in the beautiful Willamette Valley. Downtown Sherwood is like a step back into the beginning of the 20th century. Antique stores, glowing street lamps and, of course, Lavender Tea House & Gift Shop. We are in an 1892 Queen Anne Victorian Cottage. Our gift shop has many unique items, from books and linens, to gift cards, jewelry and tea accoutrements. We have outdoor seating in the summer on a garden patio. With seven tables indoors, reservations are highly recommended, but there can sometimes be a table free during the week if you stop by. Please give us a call and come in.

Variety: The ladies were so helpful and welcoming. We shared the tearoom with an entire bridal shower party but felt very well taken care of. Our visit to OR from NM was made complete with our afternoon tea at the Lavendar TR. Good luck with renovations!! |

Variety: My daughter in Law was given a gift cert for the Lavender Tea house, But according to the management it was expired. So we had to pay our way. So they just took the money with no regard for the cash already paid. Another word for taking money is the sin of stealing. |

Variety: I was with the Oregon Regency Societ group and I have to agree that this is an exceptional tea-room and that they did an amazing job to make our event special. The scones were AMAZING and the service was exemplary. I hope we come back as a group, but even so, I'll come back on my own. |

Variety: The Oregon Regency Society held a Regency Tea at this location this past Sunday, and we were universally impressed by the quality of service and food, and the pleasant ambience. The staff was helpful, the menu for our group of 17 perfect, and the decor and settings exceeded our expectations. We will hold another group event at this tearoom, without a doubt. |

Variety: I have been to the Lavender Tea house several times and have never been disappointed. They have the friendliest staff and the most delicious food. I have been to many teas and they compare wonderfully. They also have the most delicious sandwich called the empress and you can even call ahead and request it to be on the menu the day of your reservation. Feel free to bring your daughters and friends because they are very accommodating and even have a dress up area for you and the kids! |

Variety: We had a lovely afternoon with my niece and our granddaughters when we visited your charming tea house. We were thrilled to give our granddaughters a genuine high tea experience that we remembered having as children in Canada. The cucumber soup was excellent, and the girls throughly enjoyed the scones and cream. We commend you on having such a wonderful place where we can share with the younger generation what having tea was really about before coffee houses were put on every corner. |

Variety: My friend and I celebrated my 60th birthday here. The tea was flavorful, the food fresh and tasty. The scone was especially large and moist. We love it! |

Variety: Eight of us enjoyed our first visit to the Lavender Tea House this afternoon. The tea was wonderful (the Carmel tea was a big hit) and our pots were never empty. The scones and lemon curd were delightful. The staff was very attentive. We'll be back! |

Variety: Our group of 8 was given the very least of attention. We did get all our courses, but they were served without flourish. Our tiny teapot was empty very quickly and stayed that way the rest of our meal. The tiny servings of clotted cream would have fed two, but not 8 people. Again, they remained empty for the total meal since a waitress never came by out table, but to serve the next course. |

Tearoom Response
Wow! I am curious as to why you didn't address this issue during your time here. Although, I normally would not respond to reviews such as this one, I am curious as to why and how you came to feel this way. Are you speaking for your group or just yourself? I will defensively speak for my staff by saying we do not strive to give this kind of service. We actually pride in our service because it is our specific ministry. Please 'forgive' us if we have not met your expectations. 'Church Ladies' (You did not give me your name) please feel free to call me personally so I may understand your lacking tea experience at our tea house. Sincerely, Jamie Yang, Owner

Variety: We were seated for a Christmas Tea which was suppose to include soup. We were one of the first parties seated and we were advised they had run out of soup! The scones were wonderful, but our tea was served with 'warm' water!!! Very weak, had to send it back and ask for more. We didn't receive the correct tea strainer either. The sandwiches were very bland and not many of them for our large party. The dessert tray was very disappointing, no variety, looked like store purchased goods. Sorry Laveneder tea room, we will not be back. I had expected more and was very dissappointed at the price, service and quality. |
