the staff was very nice and the good was really good...the tea, however, was a different story. It was BAD. My friend and I were given tiny tiny pots that probably had WAY too many tea leaves stuck in. Good food, but they really need to learn how to make a nice cup of tea.

We had a group meeting here and some of us had the formal tea and others did not. Both were accomodated very nicely. Wait staff was attentive and atmosphere was very charming. Food was small and pricey, although tasty we all left still kinda hungry. We have been here and done it and doubt we will return. Off to keep on exploring!!!

I would consider this more of a restaurant than tearoom, but I've always enjoyed my visits and the tea.

The atmosphere was very nice. It was quiet, yet there was light music in the background. The service was okay. Our waiter was not very intrusive, but came by enough to make sure that we had hot water refills. The food was simple and good, but we would have preferred something more unique from a French resturant that is so highly reguarded in the area. The price was just right for the whole experience. We plan to return for tea and to try the resturant for lunch as well. The only real complaint that we had was that the waiter was a heavy smoker and you could tell that when he was not waiting on the diners he was out smoking. (He could be seen through the front windows.)

Very french atmosphere. It was very pleasant and had a wonderful selection of teas (I like my teas a more black/Asian & bold, theres were a more milder variety). Great service, the servier was very attentive and very courteous.

The deserts were the best part... Anything chocolate has my vote. I would recommend others to go there.

An upscale French eatery on Preston near George Bush, Lavendou's offers a nice selection of teas and delicious food for a more than reasonable price. The service was unobtrusive and prompt - perfect for conversation and relaxation. The sandwiches, provided on a good quality white bread, included cucumber, proscuitto, and chicken salad - all nicely put together. The scones were a bit dry (clotted cream and a single type of jam were provided), but the tea bread was delicious and moist, served with a creamy spread already applied. The desserts were by far the best part of the meal, with the chocolate/coffee napoleon stealing the show.

Overall, an excellent tea experience in an unexpected location.
