Overview

Little Britain House is located on 91 rolling acres of a Kentucky Horse Farm. The house was built about 1880 by a doctor. When you enter the foyer the adventure begins. There is a tall pier mirror where you may enjoy trying on some of the many hats and assessories to wear for your Tea. There is an antique grandfather clock and as you walk through to the parlor a collection of Victorian furniture. This room makes a nice place for a Cream Tea for two. You will then proceed through the small gift shop, overloaded wilh teas, tea pots, cozies, misc. other tea needs, jewelry, books, minitures, vintage items, etc.. Then arrive at the Den where if you return on your own one day you may request being served here where you can read one of the many books as you enjoy a Cream Tea. Next you will stroll through the Garden area, with many tropical plants and a view of the stables. Here too is a nice place to have a Cream Tea. Then comes the dining room where both Cream Teas and Full Teas are served. Each room is furnished with antiques from around the world creating an ambiance of comfortable elegance. We hope that Tea at Little Britain House will confirm that you are a very special guest and leave you with the desire to return again very soon.

I like to compare tea rooms, even though I enjoy all the differences, Little Britain House ranks at the top of everything I look for in a tea room. When I left I felt as if I had been an honored guest.

My two friends and I are on a mission to visit all the tea rooms in the Greater Cincinnati area. Needless to say, we were delighted at the ambience of this quaint tea room. It was decorated with wonderful antiques, and there was even a sitting room with delightful books and calming music playing in the background. The food was excellent and the presentation was exquisite! On top of that, the owner, Phyllis, gave us a history lesson on how high teas came into being. Her knowledge of all of the various teas and her love of her work made this an afternoon to remember for a long time. We guarantee we will return and let all of our friends know about this one of a kind of experience. A true must for all tea lovers!!!!

I felt a little stressed upon hearing about your visits to so many Tea rooms but your kind flattery and exuberance immediately put me at ease. I really enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you again.

Thank you for all your attention to the details, as our family celebrated my milestone birthday! It was truly like having tea in an elegant friends' home. The soups, tea sandwiches and assorted desserts were creative and delicious. And the great selection of HATS helped to make our experience loads of FUN. I have recommended Little Britain House to many of my friends - also ushering in their 50th birthdays. What a great way to celebrate a major life event.

I really enjoyed visiting this fine tea roon. The tattershall tea is superb. Phyllis introduced me to black maple tea with cream and vanilla syrup and I swear it is addictive. As a rule, I only drink iced tea, but the brewed tea was extremely enjoyable, and Phyllis even offered to pour her special tattershall blend over ice, which was excellent as well.

We visited the Little Britain House Tea Room in July 2007 for a
full tea. The experience was actually amazing! We went because of the unique setting – the tea room is in a fine old farm house on the rolling green hills of a horse farm. But the surprise was inside. The home is furnished in 19th century antiques from Kentucky, Europe, Asia and across the US, especially the south. I was particularly taken by the beautiful old music box that played tunes on large removable metal disks. The box played lovely music after a few turns of a large crank. It was absolutely addictive. The tea (actually we sampled three kinds), the cakes and soup were all fresh, homemade and excellent. My favorites were the special “Tattershall” tea, and the fresh scones with Devonshire cream. Those scones reminde... (more)

The tea room is intimate, but large enough for a few small groups to take full tea at the same time. Our party numbered eight and we took up less than half the tables. I think the 19th century charm added to the experience, but it was the hostess who made us feel like guests in her home! What a great way to spend an afternoon.
