Overview

Little Britain House was built in about 1880 on beautiful rolling acres of what is now a Kentucky Horse Farm. The house was built by a prominent doctor. When you enter the foyer your Tea adventure begins. There is a tall pier mirror where you may enjoy trying on some of the many hats and accessories for your Tea,just for fun. There is an antique tall case clock and as you walk through to the parlor you will see a collection of Victorian furniture. Several pieces from the collection of a KY statesman, senator and vice president Albin Barkley. This room is nice for a Cream Tea for two, if requested. You will then proceed through the gift shop, overloaded with teas, tea pots, cozies, misc. other tea needs, blown glass jewelry, etc, books & miniatures, You then arrive at the Den where if you return on your own one day, you may request a Cream Tea here and read one of the many books as you enjoy your Tea. Next you will stroll through the Garden area, with many tropical plants and a view of the stables. Here too is a nice place to have a Cream Tea. Then comes the dining room area where Cream Teas, Petite Teas and Full Teas and Group Teas are served. Each room is furnished with antiques from around the world creating an ambiance of comfortable elegance. We hope that Tea at Little Britain House will confirm that you are a very special guest and leave you with the desire to return again very soon.

My friend and I had a Petite Tea to celebrate Christmas. The house was so beautifully decorated and we even had Christmas crackers to pull with funny hats and jokes inside! It was a great time and when we were done we had as much fun picking out teas in the gift shop!

Took my local daughter and granddaughter and CA daughter and granddaughter (5 of us altogether) to tea at Little Britain House Dec. 29. It was the second visit for me and the locals, first for the California contingent. We had the expected wonderful time, dressing up in Phyllis' plentiful offerings of hats and jewelry, drinking Tattershall and Mulberry teas and munching on all the sweet and savory offerings.

Of course, we shall return! Kentucky daughter said as we left, 'I always feel that I am transported somewhere completely away from it all for a little while when I come here.'

Thank you, Phyllis.

My friend and I had a Petite Tea at Little Britain House. We were served the house tea, Tattershall, and another seasonal tea. Phyllis England, owner, hostess, brewer and chef, served a wonderful variety of finger foods at this tea. The traditional, calming atmosphere made our tea a delight. If you like to sample tea rooms you must put this one on your list. Mrs. England also has a small gift shop and sells many fine teas.

My Mom, Aunt, 3 year-old daughter and I had a lovely Cream Tea at Little Britain House yesterday. The house blend (Tattershall) tea was delicious and the scones with lemon curd and a touch of Devonshire cream were to die for. Other treats included melt-in-your-mouth butterscotch cookies, shortbread, oatmeal cranberry cookies and peanut butter cookies. My daughter delighted at picking hats and jewelry for us all and was well amused by the music boxes and many lovely decorations that surrounded us. Our hostess was gracious and thoughtful, as well. Thank you, Phyllis, for a wonderful afternoon escape from our day-to-day lives!

What an experience! I stumbled onto this place in the country on advice from a Swiss friend of mine, and I'm so glad... Close to the Cincinnati airport, but off the beaten track, and full of antiques, surrounded by rolling hills and horses - not like anything else. Mostly, though, the Lady of the business and the TLC with which she cared for us made this place great. We will visit again when we return to Cincinnati. Also, be sure to try the potato soup or the Tattershall Tea!

I just did another full-tea at Little Britain House, and it was even better than I remember! The terrific soup, scones and Tattershall Tea were all I remembered. The same warm, welcoming, civilized atmosphere; the same rolling fields of, horses, pond and swans and the amazing collections of antiques and works of art from around Kentucky and around the world, but a few things were new. A new oriental tea, new tea sandwiches made from crumpets, and new stories by the hostess were all pleasant surprises. I think she even had a few new hats in her collection for visiting ladies to try (Bonnie tried three of them). It's a tough economy and harsh business, social and political world we deal with these days, and we deserve a break. We deserve a taste of the best of relaxing conversation from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. We deserve tea at Little Britain House.

My husband and I were delighted with the whole Full Tea experience. We found the antiques, and art, amazing. We especially enjoyed the scones, cheese potato soup and the Enlish Garden bread pudding and everything in between. We don't usually like bread pudding their's was wonderful. Ms England was a warm, friendly hostess as well as an outstanding chef.

I treated my mother in law, sister in law and daughter to a Full Tea. Our hostess, Phyllis Tattershall-England artfully presented each of the four teas which accompanied our luncheon. They were all excellent and included Golden Monkey, Keemun Panda #1, Tattershall (the Signature Tea) and Black Maple. I particularly enjoyed the Black Maple and was able to purchase this to enjoy at home. The setting for the tea is elegant without being stuffy and we were served with true hospitality. Phyllis is very knowlegeable about the teas and history and we were all entertained while learning a lot. The food was excellent, my personal favorites were the opening Rich Cheese Potato Soup, the Lemon Curd, Spicy Puffs and the English Garden Bread Pudding. The gift shop featured so many fun and unique items. I would recommend the Little Britain House for any occasion. Visitors will also enjoy the beautiful country setting surrounded by the stables, lake and rolling landscape.

I so enjoyed my experience at Little Britian House. Not being a tea drinker but an avid coffee drinker I was hesitant, but from the time I parked at the beautiful hores farm to when I left I can't wait to go back. Everything was so magical from the beutiful teapots to the scones(with real clotted cream). How peaceful leaving the city and heading to the country. Phyllis(the owner) was so knowledgable I felt so comfortabe learning more about tea. The hats really added to the whole experience.
Thank You

My friends and I had a wonderful first time visit at this lovely tea room. The Little Britain House was very pretty with many collectibles. One could tell that Ms. England was very knowledgable about the English tea and is very creative with her food and decor. We enjoyed a very relaxing time and felt very pampered. I love visiting tea houses, but I really thought that this one had all the ingredients to impart a special memory. Thanks, for your gracious hospitaliy, Ms. England! We are also looking forward to seeing the photo you took of our group and we look forward to a return visit!
