Variety: We loved your tearoom and will miss it greatly. There is always someone with an opinion....mine is that you did a good job and have a great future1 |

Variety: I was sorry to see that you were closing your tearoom...I know it must be difficult for you. I had hoped that the feedback customers gave you would be heard y you and your staff and you could turn it around...this is not an easy business, though many think it is, ut to be honest customers like Debbie Lynn, did not help your cause....very unprofessional. I wish you well in your future endeavors. |

Variety: I am so disappointed in this place since the new owners took it over. Their kids run the place, they are rude and unattentive to their guest in the tea house. They are always gathered at the front so you have to go up there if you need something. I have overheard them several times being rude to potential customers. This used to be my favorite place. I'd take my relatives and friends and out of town guests there frequently. Now I will not go again. It really lost it's appeal. It's sad when a place you loved so much once, goes so far down hill. This is a place that teenagers and kids in their early 20's have no business running. |

Variety: I had waited a VERY long time to be able to hold my daughter's birthday party at this tea house. So, you can imagine how excited we were! Not only did everyone join us, but we ended up having a few extras (which were handled very graciously) We couldn't have been better taken care and took away some wonderful memories. The girls got 'tea' lessons and loved trying everything on. I heard a few moms and girls mention they would be back for their special days. I will always recommend our tea house and thought it was perfect from the planning to packing up. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!! |

Variety: Dear Jena Stanz and for other readers.....FOR YOU INFORMATION....i AM NOT A FRIEND OF THIS TEA ROOM OWNER AND DO NOT EVEN KNOW HER OTHER THAN HER TEAROOM! Before you go blaming this tea room owner, you should know what you are talking about....like calling the kettle black? Ms. Jena, perhaps you are a tea snob? Don't throw stones when you don't even know who you are throwing at! |

Variety: This wa my second visit to your place and unfortunately, I was still not impressed. I did not speak to you this second time, because I spoke with you personally the first time and you semed very defensive, which may be why so many other guesta have chosen to express themselves in a review typw format. I don't believe your friend who uses this forum as a sounding board for you helps you and your tearoom at all. Negative reviews don't come from 'tea snobs', they come from people like me, who know the particulars of a good 'tea' experience' and don't think just anyone can put up a sign and claim to be a Tea Room, you really do have to know what you are doing. The Tea Map Coordinator who replied was trying her best, it sounded like, to express that as well, but then your 'Tea Snobs, who are they' friend continued to make comments and also made you and your place look foolish...take some friendly advice, keep your friends off the review page and work on your food, I say this genuinly andwith c.are |

Variety: Dear Randi, Your tearoom is lovely and you have a fine tearoom. I am not sure about the coordinator.....she seems to think that I was complaining about your tearoom again....HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO WRITE AND SAY THAT I WAS PRAISING YOUR TEA ROOM AND COMPLAINING ABOUT THE 'TEA SNOBS' THAT WROTE DEROGATORY REVIEWS PREVIOUSLY!!!! I don't think she is reading my messages clearly. I signed it Tired of Tea Room Snobs.......referring to previously bad reviews which I thought was in poor taste and mean. I LIKE YOUR TEAROOM!!! I am not ashamed of my name...thank you very much to the tea room coordinator! Just trying to make a point to the actual 'Tea Room Snobs' |

Variety: We visited Main Street earlier this year and were very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. Since then, I have been in their gift shop as well and have always found the owners to be friendly and helpful. I will continue to recommend Main Street Tea House to others. |

Variety: I only post what I have seen, if you all do not like what that person does or does not do, go and tell them do NOT EMBARASS THEM afterwards. I felt that Jeff, and the Tea Snobs just wanted attention, if things are not right make it right, do not allow the tea house to be ruined because you do not like what they do, make it right, I am embarassed for you all. I feel that MS. Randi may seem overwelmed when she purchased this place and does not have extra funds to help with this place, by hiring employees, etc... give her a chance to recoop. She is a fine lady with alot of respect,.give her the chance to change. Not all tea houses are the same. If you do not like it, speak to the owner, manager and make it right, I am sorry for the Tea Snobs who have no decendecy to put their real name on here... (more) |

Variety: My experience here at this place was just the rudest place I've ever been too. The staff here not only are rude, but they are soo rushy and pratically pushed us out the place. I have never been to a place with such rudeness and embrassing as this place is. This place is a distaster. I would recommend some other place to everyone else. |

Variety: This is a response to the Linda Valentino who complained about the Tearoom snobs....I wrote that in response to the rude person who complained about this tearoom...I was taking up for Mainstreet...not complaining about them. Please direct your comments to someone else who cares! No one cares about the Sorbet...like you said..they can go to sams and eat a whole bucket full! |

Variety: I am the tea map coordinator for Florida I am thrilled to see that Ms.Scott and her son do a fantastic job of owning up to this tea room. It is most difficult to re own somthing that someone had a name for, for so many years and I grant you it has its ups and downs. But for the one lady called Tired of Tearoom snobs. YOU Should have set up your name? Are you that embarassed to say who you are? I am not so I will put my name in.. I love all the tea rooms and places that I have delt with and went to. The Sorbet, you can get it from the Working cow or you can get 1 tub of it from Sams club or you also can get some from the Gelato companies in St.Petersburg, and then tell the customers its Sorbet. But most ladies who come to these places know the difference. Personally I have seen things but i... (more) |

Variety: I would like to ask one question? Who are these'tea snobs and where did they come from?' Probably never worked a day in their life and probably don't have a life except to go to tearooms and complain and say hateful things. You know if you don't like it, tell the owner or don't come back but don't try and ruin a small business' reputation. Most of these people like cybil, auntie or whatever are probably tea room owners or just spoiled brats. GET A LIFE. I agree with Jennifer, this is a nice tearoom and it is obvious you are trying to blemish their business. And no, I am not related to or even know the owners! |

Variety: Hello Randi & Karen! I cant believe some people! I have missed your scones and raspberry cream tea! I am writing to those whose comments couldnt be any farther from the truth. This tea room has excellent food and always great service. I have frequented here many times and have never been disappointed. This tea room is farther from me and cost quite a bit more so I can frequent as often making it my 2nd favorite. As I commented on another review, to state that this tea room is so awful couldnt be any farther from the truth. Keep up the great work and hopefully I will see you soon! |

Hi Becky,Hope to see you soon. I have missed you. Karen has not worked here for about 2 months now, she is working with kids now and enjoys it. Hey our scones are getting better everyday. See Ya, Randi |

Variety: I took my friend and daughter to this tearoom and we were very disappointed. Ithink the problem was that neither the owner or the staff really have a clue as to what a tea room experience should be. The room itself is very nice and calming, however I do not like furs at my table, not a good mix with food items. And what is with the 'gold lamee' jacket, who wears something like that to tea. If you do not change your food prep and presentation, you will not be successful my dear. |

Tearoom Response
Cybil,My tea room is set up for ladies to have tea and dress up as if they are having a tea party. I am not sure what was wrong with the food prep since you did not go into detail so I do not know what to change, but I will be happy to talk with you on the phone and listen to any suggestions you have. Variety: I have visited this tearoom twice now since it has changed hands and have been very pleased both visits. I am quite bewildered by the previous reviews as both times we visited we were greeted promptly and shown to a very comfortable table for a relaxing experience. Both times I have tried the tea selected for us by Tim, the owners son, and both times I have loved the selection, it always compliments the food perfectly. I myself am a vegetarian, and they have accommodated me twice with the sandwiches and last time the 'vegetarian delight' sandwich was wonderful. They also allowed us to try a new sandwich with some mango and other things on it which was very good. As for the scones, they are not 'southern style' scones as some might hope for but more English scones which are supposed... (more) |

Jennifer,Thank you very much for your reply, Tim wanted me to also say thank you for him. Variety: I cannot begin to express my dissatisfaction with our visit to your tearoom. It was so awful, I wanted to stand and yell FRAUD!!!! How do you in good conscience charge what you do and provide the food that you do and then call it a Queen's tea??? You laim to have pastries, you don't, you ofered cake all with chocolate icing and a brownie strip...let me tell you, brownies are not a'tea' item. As for your 'savories' nodda...a coissant that was filled with dry hicken salad, it had sat so long that it was beginning to crust. A sad affair...your explanation of devonshire cream, again, you really have no clue as to your products or what you are serving. I felt like I had just had lunch from the nearest 7-11, especially when trying the 'cakes'. Ans so you also know, scones are not 'biscu... (more) |

Tearoom Response
I would like to apologize for the atmosphere you had to endure while you were at the Tea House. As for the food you were served I was do not know if I was there when it was prepared for you so I can not explain why it was not up to par. We have had several of our customers tell us that our scones are very delicious, I do not understand why yours was not, and our Devonshire cream has always been excellent according to our customers. We have not been able to get sorbet for some while now so we have had to switch to sherbet, we apologize for this misunderstanding, as our employees are so used to saying sorbet. Please contact me at my store so that I may speak to you personally about this and we could come to an agreement on your cost of the meal. Thank you Randi Scott |

Variety: I took a friend of mine to tea yesterday Jan 16th she had been down and out to perk her up we decided to take her out for a nice tea. Mind you paying 21.95 a person is NOT cheap by anymeans. There was this group of Red Hat Ladies there and they were loud and apparently they all ordered lunch that they arrived at 11:30 for theirs they ordered A La Carte. We were told by the owners Randi and Tim mother and Son that IT WILL AHWHILE TILL WE HAD OUR LUNCH because they were understaffed and not one extra person serving. Randi the owner was the server as well as the cook. I wanted to tell you this is the Last place i want to take anyone at. My friend was truly upset she is a diabetic and if we did not get served right away we would have left. She felt embarassed and the teas were very cold. Not t... (more) |

Maria,I believe you were the one who also e-mailed me a very long letter about your issue with my tea house. If I am wrong then I apologize. I think it is very rude of you to put this review on Tea Map and not let the readers know that when you left you told me and Tim that everything was good (maybe you said wonderful), I gave you a discount but it wasn't enough. I am sorry about that. Please call me so that we can talk about this and come to an agreement. I do not like for my customers to be unhappy, I like for my customers to come to me and let me know when that are dissatisfied so I can take care of it right then. I will happily refund you and your guest there money, please call me and give me all of your names and addresses so I can do this. Randi Scott |

Variety: I brought one a young lady who had never been to a tea room before. It was our CHRISTmas gift to each other. Though the atmosphere and service were outstanding, the food was lacking. The chicken sandwhich was dry, everything tasted of almost flaving and the desserts were much to sweet. We did love the scones! We've decided if we di go back we would not want anything but tea and scones. |

I would like to apologize for the dry chicken, sometimes it sits overnight and we we get in a rush and don't mix it before we start serving it. Some of our desserts are very sweet, some aren't, we try to mix it up for all to enjoy. Please try us again. E-mail me at mainstreetteahouse@rajoinc.com and add in the comment section re: review on Tea map so I can see that you read my response please.Randi scott |

Variety: We were offered a holiday tea that was delightful and appreciated them leaving the teapot at our table on a warmer. The chicken croissant and tea sandwiches were delicious. We enjoyed the cranberry scone with apricot perserves and whip cream, yum!! The various desserts given to us were incredible. The Victorian atmosphere with shalls and hats was very relaxing and fun. Variety: My mother and I went to this tea house just recently just as we found out it was taken over by this new woman Randi She is so sweet! I was glad that this tea house stayed the same as it did when Rhonda and her mom had it. When Rhonda overcharged us with the same menu we felt that we had no choice to return, till my mom took me here to visit. I live in Southern Calif and we have plenty of tea houses. I felt that the Randi has comparible prices for her Queens Tea and that we all can have a great time and not to over pay for what we received. I am glad that this place stayed in business as I would not have wanted to visit another tea house I did not have a great experience with. Randi thanks for reopening the tea house it is very much needed in this area!! Best of Luck, You will do excellent since God is by your side. |

Variety: An absolutely delightful tea room! With the beautiful decor and calming ambiance one has no choice but to relax! The food and service is outstanding. The tea was brewed perfectly and our server kept our cups and teapot full and hot. The food was delicious and presentation was lovely.Without a doubt they continue to be one of the best tea rooms in the Tampa Bay area. |

Variety: Actually I have had parties and just tea for 2 and I never felt like we were being ignored by the private parties...always felt like we were so special.....I don't really need for them to always refill my tea cup if my pot is there...it is an honor to pour the tea! As far as the sorbet....it is just to cleanse the palate...not to get full on! Main Street I think you have shaped up just fine!!!Keep on going. Don't let others discourage you....it's wonderful. |

Variety: I love this place, but the last time I went there I felt like they didn't care. The pay more attention to a 'private party' than to us and gave us so little of the sorbet like ok...Main Street better shape up. |

Variety: I have never had any problems with the service. The food is excellent as well as the tea. It has always been a peaceful experience for me. Also, I agree with the decision not to allow small children. A child is too young in my opinion to behave properly at 4 years of age. I have seen older children there (11 or 12 years old) and they actually had better manners than some of the adults I've seen. Still, if a child is not old enough to go to kindergarden, they should not ruin everyone else's experience. |
