Maizie's Tea Room

I was in town visiting my sister, when she took me to Maizie's. Wow - when we walked in we were met by a mother/daughter owner team beaming with smiles and warmth. We ordered High Tea which was extraordinarily good! The scones were cake like and were divine with the clotted cream and raspberry preserves. My English Breakfast and my sister's Chai were incredibly tasty, We both had a cup of chicken tortelli soup that melted in our mouths. Followed by adorable tea sandwiches filled with deliciousness. And the assorted desserts were to die for! Omg the Mudpie and Raspberry Cheesecakes were incredible! And the tea room itself matched it's owners - sweet, warm..charming! We LOVED it and will definitely be coming back soon!!

We had a group of 6 and were excited to go there. I made reservations, I asked questions ahead of time. I expected a quaint and pleasant experience from the phone conversation I had. The food was lacking though the tea was pleasant. There was not enough milk put on the table to go around for all the cups of tea. We watied 15 minutes for more milk. There were no tongs for the sugar cubes, though the table next to us had some. Nothing was explained and when I asked, I was given a bit of attitude for asking. This is NOT a traditional tea house, I have been to tearooms in England, Manhattan and Paris and this is no comparison. That was not clotted cream we were served, not sure what it was. There was alot of waiting for things to come to the table. They served my daughters' sandwich 10 m... (more)inutes before the rest of the food came out. And for the other 5 of us, the so called tea sandwiches on stale bread, a few cookies and some decorated muffins were all jumbled together on a 3 tier platter for us to divide up and share. Usually when you pay extra price to share extra food is added, not in this case. It was confusing and tasted poorly. I took the owner aside when we were paying and leaving to politely tell her that the service was bad, and she got very loud and told me no one had complained EVER. Perhaps they just never came back.

This is my favorite Tea room. My Mom takes me here as a special treat when we are in Fishkill. We even got my Dad to go last winter for my birthday. I hope I get to go back soon.

So serene and relaxing......the service was amazing! The tea pot was never empty and the food was delicious. After leaving, I felt as if I had spent a day at the spa! Beautiful....will definitely come back!

Friday will be my 3rd trip to Maizie's. Came with my 19 year old daughter, later celebrated my mom's 73rd there with her friends. So 'girlie-girl'! This is the place to go for a relaxing afternoon. I could spend the entire afternoon sipping their delicious teas and gazing out the window. Always a wonderful experience. I don't mind crossing the river for an experience at Maizie's

I just love this Tea Room, and the lovely ladies who own it! It feels like home when you are there.

A charming and enjoyable experience all around. I have been there when it is bustling and busy and I have been there when my party was the only table - in both situations the owners were attentive and accommodating. Even though this tea room is located on the busy Main Street of Fishkill, NY, once inside you are transported to a place of civility and calm.

My favorite place to have lunch with my daughters, or lady friends. The atmosphere is relaxing, menu varied with traditional fare, and wonderful soups. The owners, Jenn and Sandy are warm and welcoming. I recommend Maizies to anyone visiting Fishkill or Dutchess County.

My daughter and I walked into this beautiful Tea Room very upset and not in a very good mood with each other and by the time we left we were in such a good mood! The owners are delightful and very funny. They just make you feel happy. The food is delicious especially the scones. Overall a wonderful and very relaxing experience.

We had a most wonderful experience at the amazing little tea shop. Traditional English tea room, Whole leaf teas brewed to order. The food was well prepared, service was perfect.
