All I can do is agree with everyone else. This tea room sets the standard for all the others.

Loved the Tea room and the staff! First experience there and will go back. Scones and muffins were wonderful!

I will always support something I believe in. And this Tearoom is the real thing. This morning, we were served either Darjeeling or Green teas along with a nice presentation of varied scones. Having lived in the UK, I am certainly familiar with quality tea and scones, and this place is genuine. I cannot wait to return for the Devonshire Cream Tea and a clotted cream scone. Thank you Mary Anne's for your hospitality and high levels of service. Well done.

Just went to Mary Anns for a morning town business meeting. What a great place. They actually had teas that I liked. I'm going to take my fiancee' to dinner there on Valentines day.

My mother & I had the full tea. What a great meal. What a great time. I had three different teas & mom had two. I'll be back to try some of the other flavors.

What else is there to say. Great atmosphere, fabulous food, & an extensive list of teas. The 'serving maiden' in period costume set off the mood to perfection.Keep up the good work!

Mary Anne's Theme Teas is a very peaceful, quiet setting. The food was delicious, the staff very friendly and attentive. I will definately be going there regularly!

I don't know which impressed me more, the tearoom or MaryAnne herself. She came out to talk with us while we were enjoying her wonderful sandwiches. Her knowledge of each individual tea, its health benefits, and the general history of tea was truly delightful to hear. We will include her in our prayers.

My friends & I were immediately impressed with the decor. It was almost opulent & yet 'homey'. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. By the time that we finished our scones (the best), we found ourselves laughing & talking like we were a friends home. The food was out of this world. The trufle was almost sinful. I can't recomend this tearoom enough!

My friends & I went to MaryAnnes to celebrate my adult daughters birthday. We had a great time. My daughters special dietary needs were met without problems or complaints. The staff & management acted like it was natural & the easiest thing to serve her special needs. The made a good day an extra special day. My daughter still talks about how good the homemade scones tasted. She loved the truffles. Thank you Maryannes & staff.

My friends and I had tea last week. I can only concur with all the praise that others have left on this site. Wide selection of teas, taste-tempting food, & good service. We enjoyed the historical stories that our server told us about the town & the surrounding area.

My fellow sister & I had tea at MaryAnnes onSaturday. What a wonderful experience. The food and the tea selection lived up to their reputation. We'll be back!

I surprised my wife by taking her to tea. I was the one who was surprised. I had a great time! The food was great & the selection of teas was outstanding. I'm not a big tea drinker but the server guided me thru a list of things he thought I might like. The 1st pot was good but the 2nd pot was perfect. I ended up buying some to take home. My wife was happy & I think we'll go back next month.

My ffriends & I went here @ the end of Dec. I just made a reservation to go back w/ 10 of my co-workers. I think that says it all. What a great tearoom!

My friends & I were at Maryannes a few weeks ago. What a wonderful place. The wait staff was helpful & they didn't intrude on us. They seemed to be there when we wanted more tea, but left us alone to enjoy ourselves otherwise. The selection of teas was outstanding. I can't rember when I've seen a larger selection. We'll be back!

My friends & I returned to MaryAnnes for the third time. I didn't think they could get any better than the first two visits but I think they did. The December tea specials were outstanding. The Gingerbread house' tea was wonderful, I hope they serve it all year. Her 'Cranberry upsidedown Cake' was a true treat for the tastebuds.

My friend & I just had a wonderful tea. The food was marvelous, but the tea selection was outstanding. I reccomend the 'Gingerbreadhouse' to everyone.

I can't say enough good things about this tearoom. We had my bridal shower there. The staff went out of their way to make the shower special. They put out napkins that matched my bridal theme colors & the table was covered w/ flowers. I can't recommend them enough.

My mother & I had tea at Maryannes. Mom was overwhelmed by the number of teas to choose from. We have gone to many tearooms but this one was by far the best. Mom & I will be back for our annual christmas meal every year from now on. Keep up the good work.

My only regeret is that I haven't been to MaryAnnes' before. Thefood is great & the staff wonderful, but the decor is something else. It is formal and yet very inviting. It made me feel as if I were home: that is if I lived in a Victorian mansion. I felt pampered & yet very relaxed. I made a reservation for next month before I left.

I read the reviews so I decided to MaryAnnes' a try. I'm so glad that I did. I and my two friends couldn't of had a better time. The food was great & the christmas special list was wonderful. We'll be back!

I just read what my future maother-in law wrote about my bridal shower @ MaryAnnes. I couldn't agree more. What a wonderful way to welcome me to the family. maryAnne is an inspiration to all of us. My prayers are with her & I thank her & her staff for an experience that will be fondly remembered for a very long time.

Wow! It's been over a month & this is the first time I've been able to post a review. I quess teamap is having problems. I've been to MaryAnnes three time now. Each time seems to get better. I brought my group of Red Hatters to the tearoom. I knew they would have a wonderful time. MaryAnne didn't disappoint! Wonderful authentic Victorian setting, great tasting food, a wide variety of tea selections, & a great staff. MaryAnne is a great hostess. I'll pray for her every day.

What a wonderful place! We had a great time. The food was wonderful & the servicw was sublime. I had 3 different types of teas.

I attended the bridal shower that Crissi held (see previous review). I couldn't agree more w/ Crissi. I've never been to a tearoom before and thought they were stiff and a little foreboding. The staff was warm and welcoming, the decor was opulant and yet very inviting and comfortable, the food was great. I'd never had a cucumber sandwich before but I couldn't believe how good they tasted. The fudge & trufles were a slice of heaven. All of us are planning to go back in the very near future.

I'm so glad that we picked this tearoom to have my future daughter-in-laws bridal shower. MaryAnne and her staff couldn't have been more helpful. The setting is perfect and the food was fantastic. Her 'cranberry upside-down cake' was fabulous. I bought several pieces to take home to my husband & son. We'll be back very soon.

I brought my sisters to MaryAnnes for our annual xmas get together. I had been before & knew they would have a great experience. MaryAnne do not disappoint. Wonderful atmosphere, attentive wait staff, & great food. A wide selection of teas. We will be back again.

This tearoom is a must! Ive been to tearooms all around the world. Mary Annes is right up there with the best of them. The service is great and Mary Anne is a delight. The choice of teas was extensive, they list 100 but our server told us that they had more. The Cranberry Autumn tea was just perfect for a chilly fall day. Our meal was a delight for the eyes as well as the tastebuds.

Maryannes was the by far, the very best Tearoom Ive traveled to yet! I go all over from state to state! now in Maryland, this is the 22 tearoom and the very best in everyway!!Food all hommade, staff is very good! and we was able to meet maryanne this day, being she may not always be at her tearoom ,,due to her fight with double lung obstruction, she still is pleasant, does her own baking and makes our experince amazing! This tearoom is a must visit!! We will keep praying you get your lung transplant maryanne!!

What a wonderful tearoom. The staff was very pleasent & never missed a beat. We never felt rushed but we didn't have to sit & wait for the next course. Fabulous food & great decor.

I was in a tearoom in Titwillow , England that was frequented by Prince Charles & Lady Dianna. It wasn't as nice as this tearoom. Great food, fantastic decor, & wonderfully hospitality. I'll be back with my husband & my friends.

My friends and I had a wondeful time. Great food, wonderful atmosphere, every kind of tea we could have hoped for. We were worried about the street work being done outside. We didn't even notice it once we were inside. Great relaxing experience with excellent service.

This was the best tea I have attended so far. The food was wonderful and the tea selection was overwhelming.

We, three generations of women in my family, cherish the memories of each family event at Mary Anne's. Our gracious hosts offer a large selection of teas, fresh homemade soups, salad with house dressing, delightful and delicious tea sandwiches and freshly baked scones as well as other sweet goodies. It is with pleasure and joy that we come together at Mary Anne's for an awesome tea experience, and where we celebrate life and all of our various birthdays. What a wonderful tearoom. I had been there before and had to take 3 of my friends back with me. We all had different teas. I know I had 3 different kinds myself.
The food was excellent & our waiter couldn't have been nicer. I'll be back very soon with more of my friends.

Tea at Mary Anne's was truly a delightful experience. The dining room is elegantly decorated and comfortable. The service (Russ!) was wonderful--he was helpful, friendly, engaging, and really made the experience a special one. The selection of teas was fantastic--so many to choose from! Also, the food was great--lots of variety and delicious. We will absolutely be returning in the future! Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon :)

Beware! What a disappointment. The food was stale..I was shocked based on the reviews. The lukewarm, wilted salad had a funny taste and was sprinkled with salty stale grocery store toppings. The soup was canned Campbells tomato soup with curled pasta (and do not deny this because the taste is unmistakable) garnished with basil. The quiche was dried out and stale and burnt a bit from probably being reheated too many times. The waiter apologized for the grapes having seeds due to the season despite local grocery stores being stocked with seedless grapes that are plumper and sweeter than what was served. Scones were simply OK. We were each served a small teapot of tea which we all finished and when we asked for another pot...just one to share, the waiter couldn't contain his disappointm... (more)ent...other tea rooms ask several times if you would like to try another tea or want some more...so go figure? As to the ambiance...don't know where to begin. The faint rock music from the kitchen mixed with the conversation at the next table discussing cremation and then the owner chatting with a customer in a loud smoker's voice. If all of that wasn't bad enough, we got a bill for $105 dollars for three...not broken down. When I questioned it, I was told it was Mother's Day Special. Ok...it was the day BEFORE Mother's Day, no one mentioned anything about it, I was never asked or given a menu (other than to decide the type of Tea I wanted). Whew! All we wanted was a relaxing place to have a cup of tea. Very disappointing to say the least. I felt just like Sharlotte in her post below. I felt like 'we had been taken advantage of'. And make no mistake, we were ripped off.

What a wonderful place. The decor is amazing and the staff is a delight. The manager gave my 92 yr old mother a complimetary box of tea just because it was her birthday and she liked the lemon-grass tea. We will be back!

My friends & I had their afternoon tea. We had requested several menu changes due to one persons health requirments. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accomadating. What we expectedto be just another tearoom turned out to be just as their motto says, 'elegance personified'. our waiter made us feel right at home & assured us the all the menu changes were 'no problem'. The meal tasted great & we had several different teas. I & my friends will definately be going back.

I am not one to give a negative review, but when my friend and I left the tea room we were a lttle disappointed. The teas were great, the soup and salad was to much, than when the tray of sands and desserts arrived I felt they were lacking some. Not worth $27. Once our bill arrived, it was not broken down, but one big total of everything for 2 people. My friend had put her tea as a deposit so the balance was mine. Not realizing that the gratuity was already included we gave the server an extra 8 dollars. Once we left the tea room and started talking about it how we felt that tea rooms were just getting out of had with the pricing we realized something wasn't right. We were charged 27 dollars for the tea and they added tax and chose to give themselves at least a 27% tip. Than walked a... (more)way with an additional 8 dollars and did not feel it was worth telling us tip had already been charged on our bill. This left us feeling all the way home like we had been taking advantage of. My friend and I travel all over to try different tea rooms and understand that one bad visit for one person does not mean that will be the same for someone else. We will not be returning though. My one advice to anyone going to this place is to ask that your bill be in detail.

Went to this tearoom on a bus tour. The manager told us that just as we arrived, they had a leak from the ceiling. The staff rearranged the tables to accomadate all of us. Even though the meal was delayed, the food was yummy & the staff couldn't have been nicer. I can't wait to return when they aren't in crisis mode.

Just had 'full tea' there. Had to take a 'doggy bag' home. My husband & son loved the desserts. It was a delight to talk w/ Mary Anne. The service couldn't have been better!

For a tea connoisseur like myself. It's difficult to find a tearoom that doesn't 'cook' white or green teas. My teas, I had both white and a green selection, were brewed to perfection! I usually only get that when I brew at home.

This tearoom is a huge hit with this tea diva. Oh the food is outstanding as well, truly a gem in this little town.

You may want to try it BEFORE you waste your money on the other tearoom in Maryland.

I have nothing but high praise for this lovely tea room! Grace means gifts received that are not earned! Surely the grace filled gifts of melt-in-your-mouth scones, artistic tea breads and elegant sandwiches are beyond compare. The service is excellent and the decor is just a delight! I have had the privilege of experiencing High Tea at the Dorchester Hotel in London & I have no doubt that the food served at Mary Annes matches any I had at that 5 star hotel! If you want to get away from it all & feel peaceful and refreshed, this is heaven on earth! Enjoy!

The tea of the day was excellent and the food was amazing- especially the scones and dessert. You can see the owners love what they do and pour their hearts into it. Hope to be back again!

I had my baby shower here (Jan. 2011). I absolutely loved it. The pumpkin soup was the best soup I have ever had. The scones were perfect. I have frequented many tea rooms and this one is by far the best!!! If I lived closer, I would eat there regularly. Just fantastic!

Upon arriving at this tea room, we were quickly and warmly welcomed. The staff was cheery and very accomodating. This was really 'service with a smile'.

The foods were terrific and the atmosphere was friendly, upscale and comfortable at the same time.

Had a fabulous, delicious lunch on Saturday with close friends and relatives. The food was absolutely out of this world! Had done a bit of research on other tea rooms and decided Maryanne's sounded like just what I was looking for. It was quite the lively place to be! So many different celebrations going on! We had just the perfect service from our waitstaff. I can see why Maryanne's has earned the #2 tea room!

This is the BEST Tea Room around and I have been to quite a few. My sister-in-law and I had a great lunh there recently and the Tomato Basil Soup was excellent. As always, the tray plate with chicken salad,cucumber sandwich and bacon cheese spread sandwich and scone were delicious.

Excellent in every way! My taste buds are still so happy from my experience there!

My daughter and I were visiting from out of town and selected Maryanne's for High Tea. The staff was so warm and welcoming! The butterscotch scones are to die for! As are the petit fours! If I ever get back to MD/PA this will definitely be a stop on my visit!

My husband brought me here as a birthday surprise and what a delightful one it was! Every area was beautifully decorated (including the powder room), the food was delicious, and every one was so friendly -- even the chef came out to sing 'Happy Birthday'! It was a joy to get away from cell phones and step back into a gracious atmosphere (the background music was enjoyable as well!). I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Beautiful setting for sharing lunch with my mother and sisters and niece. We all selected different teas and all were good. My favorite was the Au Carmel and our lunch was absolutely delicious. Great gift shop, too.

This place is absolutely the best tea house ever! My sister and I have eaten here many different times and I have NEVER been disappointed. Their tea menu is phenomenal and the owners always let me know when new teas arrive so I can try them. The fruit served with every entre is enough to feed you on it's own and is always fresh and delicious. The entres are always different and delectable! Don't even get me started on the desserts! WOW! We love Mary and Russ and everyone at MTT!

It was so nice to finally have tea at this tearoom. I travel to many tearooms for reviews and I must say that this one deserves all the excellent reviews. I was impressed by the fresh food, prompt service and huge variety of teas offered. This tearoom is tucked away in a small town, and well worth the trip from anywhere. Great job, really, really a fantastic time. We relaxed and enjoyed the tearoom itself, the service was impeccable and the food devine...and also the tea was hot and perfectly brewed. Really enjoyed the experience.

Because I am British, I am somewhat of an expert on Afternoon Tea. THis one was exceptional. Really a tribute to the American effort to have tea. The cheese log was a bit different, but delicious and a nice treat, I wasn't expecting!

I stopped by this tearoom without a reservation and was welcomed with a wonderful greeting. They took the time to explain what they do and how I could bring my girl friend and what we could expect.

I love your raspberry white chocolate scones! No one else has them and they are worth the trip from anywhere. Your cucumber sandwiches are the best too. They are tasty, and NOT salty or mushy.

I and a few friends attended the Christmas tea. We had a wonderful tea & enjoyed the decorations. Mary Anne had the tearoom looking like a miniture wonderland. Next time I'll bring my grandchildren.
