Variety: l am a regular customer to Meadowlark Tea Room and after reading the previous review l have to defend my favorite tea spot. l have only ever received the freshest of food and top quality sandwiches and desserts. Everything is made fresh to order and l know this because l come here every week and have never had dry bread or tasteless fillings. The food is well presented and very plentiful. l feel that Lisa was maybe a little vindictive in her comments and also missy note that this is the least expensive tea room in the area. l love meadowlark and will keep up my weekly visits. |

Variety: I went there with my daughter in law and granddaughters. It was awful!!! Service was slow. The soup cold and the sandwiches were terrible. The bread was dried out and the fillings not good at all. There was a steak sandwich with Brie?Really? I was very disappointed and it was expensive too. 75 for 2 adults and 2 4 year olds. |

If it was this bad why did you not ask to speak to the owner or bring to your servers attention that you were not happy. Your comment card that you filled out after your meal was very complimentary...what changed between then and leaving this hateful response?.

Variety: Charming is the only way that l can describe this darling little tea shop. l visited with friends on Saturday and had such a wonderful time. l thought that my food tray was never going to end. everything was so tasty and we were not hurried along like many tea rooms. l tried a new tea and l am now hooked on it (Florence). l happily purchased some to take home for my private tea times. l will come again and recomend that my friends do the same. As l said Simply Charming!!!. |

Variety: My husband I make it a date to go to this wonderful tea room each week. He loves it as he can have a lunch while I enjoy afternoon tea. They offer him a mug and he is so pleased about that as he says his fingers are way to big to use a proper tea cup. The service is GREAT! The little waitress does a wonderful job and is very attentive to us. Our tea is always piping hot and our sandwiches and desserts fresh. We highly recommend this tea room to all. |

Variety: Excellent service, lovely atmosphere, clean and beautiful settings. The food was not quite what I expected for a tearoom though. It was plentiful but lacked the specialized sandwiches that tea rooms are renowned for. I ordered the high tea and got 1/2 ham sandwich with tangy mustard, 1/2 pastrami sandwich on a mini hotdog bun, cold croissant with sausage stuffing, a mini cold quiche, and a piece of toast with a salmon tasting butter spread and a tiny cucumber on it. The soup was vegetable soup, which was great. The scones were plain, but good. Devonshire cream was delectable and jam was good too. The desserts were excellent, those were fantastic. The tea was splendid. However some of the dishes were dirty on the inside. The antique store was wonderful to browse through while waiting for tea. |

Tearoom Response
l thank you for the reviwe that you gave us. However, l would like to say that some of the descriptions of our tea sandwiches were a little inacurate. l have never served a coissant with sausage, neither do l use tangy mustard. It is a very high quality dijon that we use. If your quiche was cold then maybe you took rahter a long time to get to it, as we always serve them warm. They are cooked to order and served fresh and hot from the oven. l also have no idea as to the salmon tasting butter. The sandwich that day was a smoked salmon on toasted chiabata bread. Be assured that as much devotion and attention to detail was put into making the sandwiches as well as the desserts that you liked so much. Please come and visit us again and bring to my attention whilst you are here any concerns or displeasures that you may have.l can do more to satisfy you whilst you are here than over the internet....Sharon owner

Variety: l must say that l really did enjoy tea with my daughter today at this tea shop. We did not have a reservation and although it was very busy we were welcomed and seated immediately. l was impressed with not only the lovely food that we had, but also the atmosphere within place itself. Everyone was so happy and smiling whilst having their meals. The waiter and waitress were so very polite and attentive, nothing was to much trouble for them. They were run off their feet, but always attentive to all. l wish that l lived here in Vancouver and could make this a regular tea spot. l shall look forward to my visits and include this tea shop as a 'must do' each and every time. Thanks to everyone for the terrific hospitality. |

Variety: l had the pleasure of being invited by a friend for tea at this new Tea House in Vancouver. We were made to feel very welcome and the atmosphere was very calming and restful. We were not hurried as we enjoyed our three tiers of delicious and pretty tea delights. The service was good and the little waitress was a total joy. l am glad that we had made reservations as the place was full and l would have hated to have been turned away. We plan on returning again very soon. |

Variety: This is the best tea room l have been to in many years. The food is delicious and the teas are vast and varied to everyones taste. The scones impressed me most as they are home made from a true English recipe. Close your eyes. Sip your tea. Take a bite of your scone and you are in England. The server was a sweetie and very attentive to us and knowledgeable about the teas and the ambiance of the place was just right. l loved it all and want to go back again and again. Just perfect. |

Variety: l attended the Tea with Santa last saturday and it was marvellous. The food was wonderful and very typical of a perfect Christmas feast. Santa was adorable and all the kids had a gift and a picture to take home. WOW....Wonderful service and fun. l cant wait until next year to do this again. Thanks all of you at Meadowlark tea room for a really enjoyable afternoon with my family. |

Variety: The visit that we made today to this tea room was a very nice experience. We were on our way home from Canada to California and after seeing this tea room listing on Teamap we decided to stop here for a much needed break. The location to the 5 was so close and easy to get to. We placed our order and in no time we had a hot pot of tea on the table and soon after our soups. The three tray tea followed and we were impressed with not only the quantity of food served, but also the quality and presentation. The service recieved was good and we did enjoy this break in our journey. If ever we travel through Vancouver again we will be sure to stop and have tea again. |

Variety: Meadowlark has been opened for only 2 weeks. I have been there 3 times. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is friendly as are the staff. I am English and know tearooms well. This is one of the nicest. Vancouver should celebrate a tearoom like this. You name an English food item and they would probably be able to come up with it. I can promise you it will look beautiful on the 3-tiered serving plate. I plan on being a regular customer. It's about time we had a tearoom of this quality. |

Variety: I was there 10/11/11 and the only one there besides the workers.I have been in several tea rooms across the United States and was disappointed in presentation overall. The serving dishes were okay, but I really expected english teapots instead of white ho hum pots. The soup was excellent. Prices expensive. Leila 10/14/11 |

Thanks for your comments. We like to hear what the customers think. However, the white ho hom tea pots are English. They came from the Uk and we imported them for the shop. We have patterened tea pots that bear the mark of British china. If you visit again, please ask for one, we would be only to happy to serve your tea in a Staffordshire pot. When we priced our menu we placed ourselves at the lower end of other tea rooms in the area. We feel that we offer very fare prices for the quality and quantity of food served.

|
Variety: We were disappointed in all the food except the soup. At noon we were the only ones there and no one else came while we ate so couldn't understand the slow service. |

l have spoken to my staff and no one can remember your visit. We have only had one time where there were two patrons alone in the tea room and those ladies not only ate the food served, but took home what they did not eat for later. Bashing new tea rooms, or established ones seems to be a hobby for some people. There are no other restaurants that can be so openly reviewed. It would have been nice if you could have told us your thoughts while you were here and not on a public website. Very tacky..

Variety: This is a really nice tea house.Bright and cheery with a lovely relaxing feel to it. The food was excellent. Well presented and lots of it. The pumpkin scones melted in your mouth, so tasty. The tea selection was vast and the young lady who was our server was as sweet as could be and so helpful. Never an empty tea pot. We left feeling spoiled and pampered.l will definately return. |

Variety: My self and my hubby went to this tea house yesterday for lunch. l had to nag hubbie to get him through the door as he thinks tea rooms are 'women only'. However he did change his views when he had the delicious sheppards pie for lunch and a mug of tea. He was so thrilled that he said he will come back with me anytime. l however did indulge myself in afternoon tea and l was very impresed. Super sandwiches and really yummy scones. Oh...hubby helped me with the desserts as there was lots of food and l was willing to share. It was fun and we had a great time. Also thanks to the waitress who was so attentive and friendly. We wish you good luck Meadowlark and will be back agaion soon. |

Variety: We have waited so long for a tea house in Vancouver and now we have one. My friends and l visited today and we had the Meadowlark tea. The presentation was delightful as was the taste. We could not eat all of our goodies so we took them home to enjoy later. The selection of teas offered is very good and the place is so bright and cheerful, yet cosie and welcoming at the same time. We so enjoyed ourselves and have made reservations for this weekend. |

Variety: My daughter and friend were lucky enough to be the first official tea party served at Meadowlark. What a delight! Fabulous presentation and variety of truely English delights. Waitress was well educated in the area of teas and most happy to share her knowlege with us. We could not even begin to finish all the yummies and were forced to take home left-overs to our honey's. Don't let me forget to mention the antiques... my daughter found the perfect vintage dress which she purchased and wore during our tea. We'll be regulars! |

Variety:
The staff was very friendly and efficient. Our tea pot was never empty and we had more wonderful food then we could finish. My wife and I enjoyed our tea immensely. She even had my favorite tea which a lot of tea rooms don't carry. |

Variety: My husband and I went by just hoping this tea room was open, and to our delight it was up and running full steam ahead. What a wonderful tea room, the decor was lovely, the menu wonderful and the prices excellent, and to top it all off the waitress was spectacular. She could not do enough for us. The pot was always hot and full. We cannot wait to return this is a wonderful place that we just want to share with our friends. |
