Visited the tearoom, it was of very poor quality food, and service. I noticed the complaints were always answered with an excuse. When you pay a high price for a few tiny sandwiches, and cold soup, and limited pastries, you expect perfection. THE MULBERRY TEA HOUSE IF FAR FROM BEING RATED WHAT IT IS, MUST BE FRIENDS & FAMILY OR YOU DO YOUR OWN REVIEWS.

I am sorry to hear about your recent visit to our teahouse.
Of the thousands of customers who visit our establishment each month and the dozens of businesses who use our services for catering office meetings and events each week most understand that since everything is made fresh daily there are times when our pastry selection is limited or we are out of an item on the menu. Despite rising food costs we have not compromised our food quality, portions or price.
Compared to a lunch sandwich or an entree, a tea sandwich may appear tiny. We serve 4 to an order with a warm mini quiche to enjoy with tea or as a mid afternoon snack. Our signature soups are made from scratch daily using only fresh all natural ingredients. I'm sure your friendly server would have gladly heated it up if it was not hot enough. I am dissapointed that your recent visit was less than what you expected. I am even more dissapointed that the diatribe used to describe your visit to our teahouse would cause you to feel such vitriol and disdain for our business.
I would like to send you a full refund of your check.
With the high cost of gas I would also like to refund you an additional $10.00 so you can visit some of the other wonderful tea houses in the area. Hopefully you will have a better experience than you had with us.
Please contact the restaurant with the date of your visit and amount of your check along with your mailing address and we will send out your refund immediately.
Warm regards,

Our Red Hat group meets at the Mulberry Tea House about once a month. Joanne our server is always so nice and attentive to our needs. She always makes us all feel comfortable and right at home during our visits. We used to visit other teahouses in the area but the ladies in our group insist on making our monthly outings to Mulberry in Medford. Our only request would be to have plenty of clotted cream available for our scones when we visit. Keep up the good work!

My wife and I took my mother to her favoite place for an early Mother's Day lunch. It was our first visit to the Mulberry Tea House and easy to see why she enjoys going there whenever she has the opportunity. Our server was friendly and knew mother by name and even brought a complimentary pot of her favorite tea (Ginger Peach) for the table when we arrived. My mushroom soup and crab & tomato quiche were delicious and my wife and mother's Queen Tea was more than they could eat. We even purchased a bag of Ginger Peach to take home and a really cool travel mug to brew it in. Next time we are in town we will be back to try some additional items on the menu. I don't usually write reviews like this but I felt compelled to share my experience after enjoying a great afternoon sipping tea and having a tasty lunch in a quaint establishment with my wife and mother.

We had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, especially the homemade desserts. The service was good. The decor is lovely. My only complaint is that we did not receive our food on the tiered trays. Maybe that was because we had the full tea. I like the look of the tiered tray on the table while having tea. I will definitely return and perhaps try the selection without the soup and salad. There was more than enough food.

Thanks for your concise review of our establishment.
If I visited a restaurant with rude staff and stale food I would demand a refund or at the very least ask to speak to the manager to address my concerns.
I spoke with our manager about your comments. She informed me that overall our customers seemed happy with the service and everything ran smoothly. This was also evidenced by the large number of customers who visited our small 42 seat teahouse on Sunday with nothing but good things to say about their visit.
I trust that your daughter also had good experiences at our teahouse in the past which is why with all of the wonderful restaurants in town she chose to bring you to ours as a treat.
I must consider your unfortunate experience at the Mulberry Tea House as an anomaly.
It is our policy to issue a full refund to any customer who is not completely satisfied with their visit.
Please send me your e-mail or mailing address and the amount of your check and I will send you a full refund.
Because I feel that your experience was so unusual given the high standards of freshness and friendliness we pride ourselves on, I would like to send you a coupon for a FREE LUNCH so that you and your daughter can return to enjoy some of the freshest food around served by our friendly and knowledgable staff.

This was my first visit to Mulberry Tea House since the new owners have run it, and I was very pleasantly surprised. They have taken a good thing and made it better. I immediately noticed that the dining rooms are less cluttered, especially with the front door open. I had the Queen Tea, which was as wonderful as I remember it. Our server, John, was attentive and very nice. Obviously well trained, he stopped by the table several times to ensure all was well.
I give the new owners a lot of credit for keeping this lovely tea room alive and thriving. The website is well designed, as is the menu. I am impressed that some of the staff is certified by the Specialty Tea Institute; however, I am further impressed with how fairly the owners have responded to the few who wrote less-than-fav... (more)orable reviews at teamap.com. This fairness and the desire to please the customer go a long way in my book. Incidentally, the overwhelming majority of teamap.com reviews for Mulberry Tea House have been favorable.
I look forward to many more afternoon tea outings here. Keep up the good work, and thanks for a wonderful afternoon!

Visisted your tearoom on Sat. and was quite disappointed. Tea and soup were both lukewarm, sandwiches just so so, no quiche although we were supposed to have it with the Full Monty, one variety of scones, and the blueberry meringue with raspberry was falling apart and most unattractive to look at and to eat. The waiter was very sweet but the waitstaff was certainly poorly dressed for a proper tea. We were very disappointed.

I am sorry to hear that your visit to the Mulberry Tea House this past Saturday was dissapointing.
We had 2 morning childrens birthday parties and an afternoon bridal shower on Saturday. Our servers were allowed to wear more casual attire than they normally would that day. Our Blueberry/Raspberry meringue was made with fresh fruit delivered early Saturday morning and had not had time to fully congeal. It may not have appeared the way it would had it sat overnight but it was sold out within hours of coming out of the oven.
If your soup, tea or pie were not to your liking, hopefully you asked your server to bring you a new cup, bowl and/or plate of pie. From time to time we run out of certain items like the mini quiche as we did on Saturday. We had 30 + mini quiche orders for the bridal shower later that day and they too were made fresh early Saturday morning.
Our policy is that no one should ever leave our teahouse feeling less than satisfied with their visit.
I would like the opportunity to have you and your guests back for another visit. Please send me your e-mail address or other contact information and I will send you a certificate for a Free Lunch for your party on your next visit.
I would simply ask that you let me know about your exeperience after you visit.
We look forward to exceeding your expectations on your next visit and seeing you and your guests soon.

This tearoom has the best quiche! The tea is well prepared, but it is never hot enough. I've been there three times, and on each occasion, the water was tepid or warm at best. But I bet you can avoid this by specifying HOT tea when you order. Otherwise, I highly recommend this tearoom, and love the cozy old-world ambiance.

My husband and stopped in for lunch while shopping on Main Street this Saturday. We were both very surprised at the extensive menu and tea selection. My husband enjoyed the crab and tomato quiche and my chicken apricot salad was also quite good. When we arrived a large party was finishing up and the restaurant was very crowded. The owner told us there would be a short wait while they cleared the table. She provided us with 2 complimentary cups of tea and scones while we were waiting for our table to be set up.
We were both very impressed with the Mulberry Tea House. It is clear that everyone on their staff really appears to enjoy what they do and they do it well. When we finished we also purchased some tea and scone mix to take home. What a charming restaurant in a great little town.

I am terribly sorry to hear about your experience at the teahouse this afternoon.
From your comments I would have to assume there were some specific concerns about your visit. In order for us to make improvements to our business I would like to know some of the areas you felt we could imrove upon; service, food quality, atmosphere, restaurant cleanliness, etc.

There is no reason for any customer to ever leave our teahouse feeling less than satisfied with their visit.
Mulberry Tea House has been successful because we strive to provide fresh food served by knowlegable and friendly servers everyday. This site in addition to the in store surveys that are presented to our customers serve as a means to measure the quality of service we provide on a daily basis. Fortunately most of our reviews have been favorable, however from time to time they are not. I appreciate you letting me know about the dissatisfaction of your visit and would like you to contact me directly so I can find out what we could have done to make your visit to the Mulberry Tea House more enjoyable and to provide you with a full refund of your check.

I have been here at least a few times now since it's changed hands w/new ownership.I must first say that the service has always been friendly, the wait not too long & the food good. But, if the owner would be a little more warmer and friendly so would the atmosphere. I was denied reservations, once, because of a full house. Never an apology or a recomendation for another time slot. Also, my friend ordered a sandwich which was not made according to how it was described on the menu. The owner never said 'sorry'.She in fact becomes defensive and colder.Good food, nice waiters or not there's still other tea rooms around which may get my business now instead.

Deb,
After some checking I was informed your egg salad tea sandwich did not have chives.
Leah (our chef) informed me that the chives delivered that morning were not to her liking so she sent them back. As a purist she was reluctant to add powdered chives to the egg salad.
Like many restaurants we have our busy times during the day, however on certain days we are busy all day.
I would suggest making your reservation on line at our website www.mulberryteahouse.com at least 24 hours in advance or by calling the restaurant (609) 714-0640.

The Mulberry Tea House is a great place to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. I recently made a reservation with friends for a 'Queens Tea' with a very lovely, young woman I believed was named Lisa. We had a fantastic time talking with one another and remembering shared memories. Diana,
Thanks for the feedback about your recent visit to the Mulberry Tea House.
Let me first express my sincere apologies for the way your visit went and what we plan to do to make it right.
After looking into what happened during your visit I found that our kitchen staff was preparing a Half Monty which is a childrens dish. Typically we do not offer fresh fruit with the Half Monty but rather a cookie and chips. Our kitchen staff prepared the dish accordingly with a maraschino cherry to add some color to what they thought was a childs plate. Our server should have notified the kitchen that this was not for a child.
All of our produce is delivered fresh 3 times a week from a local purveyor right here in South Jersey. We beleive in only serving the finest freshest products available. When we discovered that this recent delivery did not meet our high standards we sent it back. This left us a bit short with fresh produce until our next delivery later in the week.
We would like the opportunity to have you back. Please send me your personal e mail address so I can send to you our coupon offer for your next visit.
I thank you again for posting your review as it will help us to take steps to prevent an experience like the one you had from happening again.
