A GLUTEN FREE birthday tea was a joy to share at Olivia's Tea room with my 3 granddaughters and their mom. Alice was very willing to arrange for our dietary need which made it possible for us to go to tea together. It was an added treat to bring their dolls and make a bracelet to take home. The celebration was geared well for children but the setting is also suitable for adult tea time enjoyment. I appreciate Alice's flexibility in her menu to meet our dietary restrictions .

Very friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating folks offering a wide variety of teas, sandwiches, appetizers, scones (with clotted cream!) and dessert. Our group of about 9 fit perfectly into the tea room and were able to share servings easily. I would not want to have a larger group - but this was perfect for us.

My cousin and I enjoyed our fourth high tea today at Olivia's and as in all of our former visits today was very enjoyable. The teas, food and staff are all amazing. The teas we were offered were delicious, the food was out of this world! The pumpkin soup tasted just like warm homemade pumpkin pie, the salad was a mix of greens with fresh red strawberries and mandarian oranges with a delicious dressing, the pumpkin scones were amazing served with clotted cream and apple butter, we had three different types of sandwiches that were out of this world, and to top it all off, we were served a big bright red strawberry dipped in a lucious chocolate, a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and a large heart shapped brownie all drizzled in dark chocolate syrup. We enjoyed speaking to Alice and Christine and watchig them interact with the other guests there too. They are so friendly and treat all of their guests like royality! Of course we will be back again, this is a wonderful tea room!

The owner, Alice, opened and served us on a day in which the weather was questionable. We were the only customers that day.I was very appreciative of this. We were celebrating my daughter's 5th birthday and I agree that the tea room caters very well to children. That is exactly what I thought the tea room would be. It's an experience tailored to kids. There was a special menu geared to my little girl. There were thoughtful extras to pamper my daughter, like a tray of beads to string a bracelet in between courses, a balloon, and tasty parting treats. Alice was extremely attentive without being overbearing. Her pumpkin scones were amazing! It was a special, enjoyable time and I would definitely recommend Olivia's Tea room!

This tea room is going to have to make up its mind if it wants to for High Teas for adults or parties for the kiddies. The tables are small with no room in between, you are isolated with only three or four at your table definitely
not for groups.Room is too confining, smaller than average dining room. If your claustrophobic this is the wrong place for you. Owner makes a nuisance of herself, constantly hovering over you. Should pay far more attention to the quality of food being served. Think $25.00 is far too expensive for what your offered. Friends agreed we will never return.

Tearoom Response
Our tearoom has High Teas for Adults and we do welcome childen. We do group parties as well as childen bithday parties. Our table are regular size but as we can drop a leaf we can accomadate groups of different sizes. Sorry you thought we were hovering but we do serve a five course tea. Also our price is the same as most tearooms and we don't think anyone has gone away hungry. A lot of our guest take some of their meal home. We are sorry you did not enjoy our tearoom. Alice

Every year the ladies in my family get together and do a tea in November. This was the first time we tried Olivia's. Alice was very accommodating and wonderful to work with. The food was delicious and so were the teas. I liked that you could buy the teas to enjoy at home. my party had 11 ladies in it, the only downfall was we all couldn't talk with each other. We were paired in tables of 3 and 4. However, we still had a wonderful time. I would definitely come back and recommend this tea room to others.

I arranged a birthday tea for 2 friends. Alice was so accommodating when I made the reservations! I asked her to include chocolate and she served delicious handmade chocolates with her pineapple upside down cake and ice cream!!! Everything was spectacular-from the pumpkin soup, salad, sandwiches and dessert! Alice is friendly and made sure our afternoon was fun and relaxing!

What a wonderful tearoom! The teas were so good!! It was nice to try some new ones. The food was beyond delicious and the scones were the best I ever had. The service, although it was crowded was wonderful and the hostesses were most accommodating. I would highly recommend Olivia's to any who enjoy tearooms.

This is the first tea room I've ever been to (and I've been to MANY) where water wasn't a consideration, and the guests had no option to choose which tea we (collectively or individually) wanted. From the pumpkin soup (which was wonderful) to the great salad, the delicious pumpkin scones and sandwiches, the food was wonderful. The downside? The owner's presentation of herself. Tea rooms are a more 'formal' setting...I kind of expect not to be served by an owner who appeared to be more of a cleaning lady - a bit unkempt; bathroom had no lock, and was a bit dirty. At $25.00 (+) per person, I think there are some improvements that can be made. However, I still had an enjoyable time with my family members.

This was my second tea at Olivia's and I will be back for sure. The food is delicious and wonderfully homemade. The staff is always pleasant and very enjoyable to be around. They accommodate everything requested. Our experience was very relaxing and we did not feel rushed. Wonderful experience.

Olivia's Tea Room was over the top accomodating to us folks of all ages. My sister and I, along with Grandma, my 8 year old daughter and my 2 young nieces enjoyed Olivia's immensley for their birthday surprise. The food was definitely homemade and I haven't been anywhere where the kids would finish everything on their plate. Thanks Olivia's Tea for a wonderful experience! We will definitely be back.

I just read the last review and I had to put in my two cents.. I have visited Olivia's many times
with friends and family and can't say enough about it. The strawberry soup is wonderful and yes it is homemade as is all their food. The scones are to die for!!! You will never go away hungry. The staff is always pleasant and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Yes they have a lot of dolls but mostly in their retail area of the store. The tea room is very cozy and is well decorated. It's funny for they even recommend Camellis's for another choice in tearooms. I know for one we will keep coming back. ( My granddaughther loves it here for they DO treat childen, young and old, like royality} I would hightly recommend Olivia's to everyone!!!

Tearoom Response
Thank you for your nice comments. We love having you.
Variety:     Artistry:     Service:     Food:

This is a fine tea house for small children who will enjoy the dizzying array of dolls present, but as for adults.... steer clear. The soup did not taste homemade at all and the food in general was underwhelming. The amount of dolls and focus on dolls was far too childlike and frankly, a little creepy. Camellia's Sin in Carlisle is a far better local tea house that has a touch of whimsy adults can enjoy without the infantilizing of Olivia's. We will not be returning.

Tearoom Response
We are sorry you did not enjoy your time with us. Yes our chilled cream soups are all homemade. As far as I know you cannot buy them anywhere. Everything we serve is made fresh. That is why we are a reservation only tearoom.
We do have a lot of dolls for along with our tearoom, we have a retail store where you can purchase many things for dolls. We welcome everyone--- adults, childen, and yes 'dolls' to come join us for High Tea. We also enjoy going to tea at Camellias!!
