My friend and I visited the Pinecone Cottage today. This was my first visit and my friend's second. I loved the cozy, charming quaint atmosphere immediately. The service was excellent, the teas fabulous and scones delicious. We had the 4 course tea and found the salad delicious. I was impressed because I have very discriminating taste and am not easily satisfied. My only desire is the tea sandwich plate offers more tea sandwiches and fewer appetizers. We had 1 tea sandwich and 2 tiny appetizers. I will still return because I really enjoyed it! No complaints, just a suggestion.Great place....

My sister and I hosted my mother's 80th birthday at Pinecone Cottage for 27 close friends. Everyone had such a fantastic time and the 4 course luncheon was so delicious.Your black tea/lemonade/english cucumber tea was the best ice tea I've ever had . The desert buffet was truly amazing, and the coconut cake was the best. Pam, you have 27 new friends who are looking forward to celebrating there own special events with you.Thank you for making Mothers birthday so special.

The Baby Shower my sisters and I gave for my niece was delightful. My many questions before the event were given a prompt response via phone or email. On arrival, Pam poured punch for each guest as we walked around the quaint, garden-like setting enjoying the menagerie of place settings and teapots adorning the tables. Bag teas were available but the special brewed tea of the month was a must. Pam explained each course as it was presented. Fresh spinach salad with vinaigrette, stuffed phyllo wrapped in prosciutto, carrot/cream cheese sandwiches, melt in your mouth scones with unsurpassed cream spread were a few of the offerings. The dessert table displayed incredible chocolate strawberries, lemon cake, cookies, etc. which we nibbled on throughout the gift opening. Tea and coffee were plentiful. So impeccably clean, we decided we could have eaten off the bathroom floor. A wonderful experience that my sisters, friends and I will share again and again. Thank You Pam

Having been to the Pinecone Cottage for other events, I was pleased to hold my niece's bridal shower at this special location. The owner worked with me in regards to seating and a selection for a child who would attend. The guest of honor, her family, and all who attended had nothing but rave reviews for the decor, food and staff. The dessert table was a particular favorite as was the variety of available teas. We were able to take our time and enjoy our afternoon in this charming, quaint setting. I highly recommend the cottage for special events as well as a special afternoon for friends.

My mother In-Law and I threw my sister in-law's bridal shower at pinecone tea cottage this past saturday.
When we first had the idea of choosing pine cone we made reservations the week before christmas to give it a try. AMAZING
the green tea infused devilled eggs, the traditional polish cream of mushroom soup, the scones...it was great and the ambience, perfect!
at the finish of our tea we asked pam to sit with us, we picked a date and signed a contract to hold the shower at pine cone.

After hearing rave reviews of the tea service, we opted to hold one of our book club meetings at the Pinecone Cottage. Reservations were made 5 weeks in advance with amendments made to the number of guests in the days prior to the event. The day of the event we all made special efforts to arrive promptly. Most of our group drove over 30mins to get to the location only to find that no one was there. One of my friends called and a male answered and promptly disconnected the call when we said that we had reservations that were now 15 mins past due. We waited around for another 15 mins and left. We ended up at Dali's Café, around the corner, which was absolutely fabulous. We would all drive out there to eat at Dali’s again but I don’t think I am headed back to Pinecone cottage again.

Serah,
We are EXTREMELY sorry for the miscommunication !
As we discussed, when you called about your book club, we always need a firm count 24 hours in advance, so we may prepare the correct amount of food.
We tried several times the previous week, including up to the day before, to confirm the number of people in your party.
Since none of our calls were returned, and no message was on our voice mail the morning your book club was to come, we were fortunate to receive an oppertunity for a last minute off premises catering event. When we returned, we were very upset to hear that only 1 hour before you were scheduled to arrive, you had finally returned our calls.
Please have your friend check the number she called, as you know, no one was available to answer the phone.
Again, we are extremely sorry for the lack of, OR, miscommunication.
We would appreciate the oppertunity to live up to the rave reviews you mentioned by hosting your next book club gathering, Compliments of Pinecone Cottage Tea House.
Please call us at your earliest convenience.
Best regards,
Paul & Pamela Geralds

We hosted a small bridal shower on the coldest day of the year at Pinecone Tea Cottage, but everything inside was cozy, warm and inviting. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. A good time was had by all and many people went home with business cards and would definately keep them in mind for upcoming events. We stayed later than we had anticipated and they were very accomodating. The Scottish scones were excellent as well as the Cream of Parsnip soup. I would definately reccomend them for a lunch or a private event.

We hosted a baby shower at Pinecone Tea Cottage. We were impressed with everything; their loose tea menu was excellent( I sampled both their Marzipan creme and Hot Bishop Tea), their 3 course tea offerings were excellent (the first course Cream of Parsnip soup was out of this world) and the overall service, hospitality and ambience were outstanding. The shower lasted 30 minutes past their closing time and the owners very graciously insisted it was okay. Their website is up-to-date and we will definitely be attending one of their upcoming special events.

This is the best afternoon tea I've ever had! I am from California and decided to have a birthday party for a relative who lives in the Downers Grove area. The grace and caring with which Pam helped me plan this party was remarkable. And the food was delicious! All of our guests loved the sherry mushroom soup. The warm, cozy atmosphere was exactly what our guests needed after braving the December snow. If you are a tea lover visiting the Chicago area, don't miss this magical tea room where good people will take wonderful care of you. And if you live in Chicagoland be sure to visit - I'm envious you can visit any time you'd like! I have been to many, many tea rooms including posh hotels and small businesses and this is the best! The owners are truely creating something very special. Enjoy!

A first course of creamy and flavorful mushroom soup was soothing and warming. Hot pastries were special as were the peppermint scones. A very relaxing, delicious tea.

What a delight! Former colleagues
gathered for Tea on a Sunday afternoon. It couldn't have been better. A wonderful, extensive 'tea list', delicious food, friendly, helpful and nicely paced service, made the event perfect. Not quite as formal nor expensive as the downtown counterparts. Far more enjoyable. The cozy,Tea Room is right near the train station in Downers Grove, a western suburb of Chicago.Visitors to Chicago, should consider making the trip on the Metra/Burlington Northern RR out of Union Station. Great shopping in Downers Grove as well. Couldn't ask for more.

I couldn't have been more pleased or surprised by the quality and beauty of the tea sandwiches (the salmon and cucmber just disappeared) and sweet treats. My guests were amazed and thrilled to actually be at a tea party with terrific tea food. Pam delivered on everything promised - she was a great consultant as we planned the menu.
