Overview

Truly a Victorian Tea Experience. The tea room opened Mother's Day Weekend 2010.

The R. L. Wilson House is located in the Historic District of Noblesville, Indiana just south of S.R.32. Noblesville was nominated as one of the "Best Small Towns" in America. This town is full of charm and historic buildings especially on the Town Square.

It has taken 3 years to renovate this wonderful home to what we have today. The interior of the home is beautifully decorated with antiques and period furniture. Each room has its own uniqueness and its own name. The grounds have over 700 plants bushes and bulbs in a pink palette scheduled to bloom through the spring, summer and fall seasons. The R.L. Wilson House was built in 1864 and is on the National Registry of Historic Houses. We received the "Community Pride Award" from the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce in May of 2010.

Specially Themed Teas will be offered throughout the year. We pair loose-leaf or pyramid bagged teas with the themed teas. Individual infused bags are also available such as Egyptian Mint, Earl Grey, green and many more. I personally like herb, and roolibos teas. Each table will have its own table-scape with various bone china, crystal, silver and eclectic accessories. Beverages are served in Silver Tea Pots or cold servers. Desserts are served on tiered trays.

Parties can be scheduled anytime for groups of 12 or more. For smaller groups we are also open on Fridays from 11:00-2:00 by reservation. Soups, salads, and light entrees as well as; Cream Tea, Dessert Tea, Lite Tea, and Full Tea are also available during these times. Please give us at least 24 hour notice for tea. Lunch can be reserved the same day, but advance notice is highly appreciated. Food is prepared based on anticipated guests and we do not want to turn anyone away or disappoint them. Our phone number is: 317-770-9399 We pride ourselves in serving fresh, made from scratch, and seasonal food. We grow our own herbs for use in our recipes. Heavenly Sweets owns and operates the R. L. Wilson house and has been voted "Best Fancy Cakes" by Indianapolis Monthly and has won numerous awards for their desserts. Along with wonderful cakes we have all butter scones, moist banana bread, homemade preserves, devon cream, lemon curd, strawberry soup, dressings, etc.

We also have a gift shop with antiques, Haviland and other fine china, tea cups, tea pots, linens and tea to purchase.

The next big high tea will be on September 11th. So whether you are a group of 2 or 60, we have accommodations to serve you. As an added Bonus, the R. L. Wilson House and is right next door to Heavenly Sweets bakery and you can walk-in for cupcakes, cookie dough and sweets treats.

I attended the Mother's Day tea and didn't know what to expect....it was my first tea. It was and is one of the most memorable experiences I've had. The decor is Vicorian with soft colors and unique accents and beautifully decorated. The atmospher was warm, inviting, charming and welcoming. The tea pairings was exceptional! A different tea was served each course. They ranged from light and fruity to bold and full flavored to mildly sweet and spicy.

Each tea accompanied different dishes from soup, to the most delisious home made salad dressing I've ever tasted to a wide assortment (five to be exact) of finger sandwiches to an extronary array of heavenly sweets.

I have and will continue to recommend the R. L. Wilson house to rave about my experience to everyone I know.

Charlotte: Thank you for bringing your friends and granddaughter to our Mothers Day Tea. We had so much fun planning the menu and tea pairings for that tea. Mothers Day Teas will be an annual event and hope you will be able to come to more. The goal is always to please and surpass expectations for every event. I think we did on this one. Thank you so much for your comments and review. God Bless, Tanya

Fantastic cozy and cheerful environment. Attention to detail (tea, china, table, hats, decor, service) from start to finish. Enjoyed meeting several out of state visitors at our table. Also really appreciated staff accomodating last minute addition of 4 year old little one due to a family hospitalization. Tea at R L Wilson will be my new secret weapon to treat myself.

Melissa: Thank you so much for all the compliments. We thoroughly enjoyed having all of you. Please do come often. Remember you can order tea for lunch!!! God Bless, Tanya

We had a wonderful girls day at the R.L. Wilson House. Everything was prepared great and more than satisfied a picky eaters appetite! Not only was the food amazing but the atmosphere and the service was excellent. This was a great time for all the ages we had at our table and I can not wait to attend another tea at which point I will wear another big hat : )

'What are these wonderful spices in the food?' 'Why does this taste so much better than I can make at home?' 'How can they prepare this much delicious food for ALL these people?' 'I bet they do not own a can opener.' All these things were heard being said at our 'friendship' table. Which is exactly what it became. We were placed at a table with several other different groups and before we left we all knew each other as if we had been friends our entire lives. The tea room was packed full of what I believe were all 'friends' before they left. Laughter and joyous conversation radiated throughout the rooms. How does it get any better than good food, good friends, and good conversation? I will tell you. Great service! Our day started with being greeted at the door and escorted to our seats. ... (more)

Loved this place. We will be returning. Bright and cheery, elegantly decorated, soothing music, delectable food, china, glassware, fresh garnishes, attentive service with a smile. The list is neverending. This place is the next best thing to going home for Mother's cooking. Sure to become a local favorite. I plan to try something new each time I visit.

Megan: Thank you for coming to the R. L. Wilson House. I grew up on home cooking so it is all I know. Not sure if you came for lunch or one of our teas, but so glad you came. My daughter and I had the pleasure of dining in the RL. Wilson House for lunch today. There really are not enough kind words to describe our experience. We both enjoyed the quiche. The best quiche I have ever eaten. And I have certainly tried my share of quiche. For dessert I endulged in the 'wedding cake torte'. It was beyond incredible. My daughter went with the strawberry shortcake. Let's just say that if we could have licked the plates without looking immature and ridiculous we certainly would have. Not a speck of food went to waste at our table. The house is stunningly beautiful. The service and hospitality is truly unmatched. I have dined in many quaint restaurants in my time but this particular one will become my new favorite. Thank you to staff and the chef.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your visit today. I'm glad that you had time to spend with your daughter and spent it at my place.
Today was my chefs first day and he made the quiche. We will be mixing things up a bit, but rest assured, we will always have plenty of desserts to choose from. It's my favorite part of the meal! Thanks again for sharing your experience at the R. L. Wilson House with everyone. God Bless, Tanya

Last Saturday's Tea at the beautifully restored Wilson House made summertime memories that will last a lifetime. The warm personal service and the attention to detail made every dish a delight. The charm and beauty of the wonderfully detailed home added so much to the Tea and the presentations. Each table was impeccably set and displayed the passionate elegance of the Victorian era. Exceptional service, wonderful desserts and a delightful selection of teas made last Saturday's Tea an elegant experience.

Ms. Marshall, I will totally agree with ALL the wonderful things said about your establishment. On the same note I will totally disagree with anyone who has anything negative to say about Saturday's tea. The food was fabulous. The amount of time between courses was perfect. A tea is supposed to be for savoring and socializing. Which our party certainly utilized. The time you have spent decorating and the love that has gone in to this beautiful house is apparent. What a treasure in the town of Noblesville. We will recommend you to all our friends and family. Thank you for a perfect 'Mid-Summer' afternoon. Blessings.

I was fortunate enough to visit the RL Wilson House for their MidSummer Tea this past weekend. It was one of the most prestigious experiences I have ever endured at a tea house. Every tiny detail was thought of. The food was incredible tasting and certainly plenty of it. The table settings were beautiful. The service was unbelievably attentive. Our glasses never went empty and not a single need went untended. Best of all every server had a smile for us every time they interacted. I sincerely felt welcome in their home. The desserts were some of the best I have ever had in my many years. Thank you to all who made our day so blessed at the MidSummer Tea.

Annie: Thank you for coming to our Mid Summer Tea. All of us here at Heavenly Sweets/The R. L. Wilson House feel like this is home away from home. I know I certainly do. I love quality food myself and feel very slighted when food is only so so. I also have a sweets tooth! We will always strive to bring quality to our facility and try to make you feel like family. My experience at the R.L. Wilson house was great. I enjoyed the sevice, the atmosphere, and everything overall. The ancient building was a good surrounding for a tea house. The soup of the day was mushroom and cream and it was the best soup i have ever had. The strawberry shortcake was homeade and was scrumptious. But, the soup is the motive for my return to the house. Thank you for showing me excellent service and food and thanks for the great visit.

Matthew: Glad you enjoyed the soup! We have different soups each week so just call to see what soup we are serving that week. It was a delight serving you and your family. I also really like Strawberry Shortcake. Reminds me of Mom's that she made when I was a kid. Hope to see you again. God Bless, Tanya

My husband and I enjoyed the Mid Summer Tea at the R. L. Wilson House on Saturday, July 24 as part of our weekend get-away to the area. We have visited many, many tea rooms and can honestly say the quality and quantity of food was outstanding. The attention to detail was obvious and the service wonderful. We enjoyed sharing a table with other guests. I highly recommend tea at the R. L. Wilson House.

Wow, what an amazing tea house. Everything was perfect from the beautiful setting, the multiple tea tastings and the delectable food. The tea sandwiches and the sweet treats were perfection in every bite. The tea room was certainly worth the wait for the wonderful renovation of the R.L. Wilson house. I was so happy to learn that there will be lunch on Fridays. I have already talked to friends about planning our next luncheon there. I can't wait.

First off, it is easy to see how much work has gone into keeping this historic home beautiful. The decor is very tastefully done. Every food item was homemade & truly deserving of a 5-star rating. I enjoyed a mushroom soup that was just to die for. After the meal, I enjoyed every bite of my wedding cake dessert. Heavenly Sweets is such an appropriate name! Super friendly staff & a personal visit from the owner made our visit memorable. Definitely a must see!

A must see , the home is so inviting and the decor is breath taking. The food and desserts were just 'heavenly' scrumptious. The 'BLTA' salad was very colorful, and the homemade ranch dressing - yumm , the lemon mousse cup was light and creamy w/ the right amount of zing .. The staff is very friendly and even in their most hetic times of a busy lunch they did not let the pressure show and always had a smile on their faces - Your missing out on the best tea room in Indiana if you haven't been here ! 7-16-10

I am so excited about the Friday lunch service. I attended the Mother's Day Tea with my daughter & daughter-in-law. We had a fabulous time & the food was delicious! That was no surprise, though, since Heavenly Sweets had made both of their wedding cakes, a baby shower cake for my daughter, & a wedding cake for a vow renewal for my husband & me that they so graciously helped pack for us to take to Florida. Our only complaint was the very small bite of cake on the dessert tray. Although ALL the desserts were wonderful,(especially the lemon bars), nothing surpasses the cakes. Imagine my delight at finding cake on the lunch menu! The house is beautiful & we enjoyed looking in each room at the very different decor. I will definitely be attending more teas & lunches!

- Pat Wahl 07/14/10

Not your typical tea room experience. Most have come to feel commercial and almost desperate. Not here. This is a tea room in the truest sense. As you enter you cannot help but notice the beautiful victorian decor. The harpist playing softly in the background lets you know you are in a place that is calm and inviting. The food served was delicious. Some of the things served were: cucumber sandwiches; homemade soup; a salad that was fresh and pleasing to the palate; banana bread with brie and strawberries; hot scones and marmalade; chocolate covered strawberries; lemon bars; brownies; cake; mousse cups; imported chocolates. We lost count of how many types of the pyramid tea that was served. Several varieties each delightful. Overall I found this particular location to be outstanding. I have and I will continue to recommend to anyone and everyone that they visit the R.L. Wilson tea house. I, myself, will become a regular. I love a place worthy of being on the tea map. No pun and pun intended.

The R.L. Wilson House felt like home from the moment we entered the doors. The decorations within the home are heartfelt and cherished items and the atmosphere is one of contentment, joy, and love. I travel surrounding states visiting tea rooms and this one will stay at the top of my favorites list. The food was stunning in variety, flavor, and assortment. These folks also own a bakery from what I understand and it must be a real moneymaker based on the food served. I enjoyed my every moment spent at the R.L. Wilson House. I hated to see the afternoon come to a close. I plan to return as often as my health and the establishment allows it. If you are a tea lover, a food lover, or have a seldom cured sweet tooth, this is your place. Thank you to the staff for such pleasantries and the owners for going above and beyond. You do not see that much these days and it is very appreciated when you find a place with such impeccable standards.

Love, love, love this place! My friends and I were fortunate enough to attend a Mother's Day Tea and we loved it. Everything all the reviews said were completely true and much more. The decor and the food are unmatchable. And the service was icing on the cake. Speaking of the cake, it was out of this world along with all the other desserts. We are excited to go back. And now that they have lunch on Fridays we may be going back every week. Thank you so much for this adding this treasure to Noblesville.

Wow! No other word quite describes the R.L. Wilson House. I have long heard the outstanding reputation of Heavenly Sweets. Life has kept me in such a tailspin that the Mother's Day Tea was my first opportunity to experience anything that came from Heavenly Sweets. I now know why they have such a fabulous reputation. The food-- unbelievable. We were served an enormous amount of food. Every single bite of that food was incredible. Perfect flavor, taste and even a delightful blend of texture. I could go on about the food for days. But to be fair this review would mean nothing if I did not tell you about the desserts. Each one seemed to melt in your mouth and be even more delightful.
