Satori Tea Company

This is my favorite place for tea in San Jose, and one of my favorite tea places in the Bay Area! Victoria, the owner, knows her tea and knows how to run a good tea room. Satori Tea Bar opened just over a year ago in San Pedro Square, and is tucked behind Theatre on San Pedro and Peggy Sue's sandwich shop. The only downside is the fact that the tea shop can't be seen from the street (S. San Pedro St.) so it can be hard to find. They specialize in organic and Fair Trade loose teas that are consistently high in quality. The prices are on the high side, but still reasonable. More than 100 teas, both flavored and unflavored, as well as herb... (more)als, rooibos, honeybush, and yerba mate are available for purchase in loose leaf as well as hot or iced. Both hot and iced tea is made to your specifications on the spot.

Afternoon tea menus, as well as a variety of savories and sweets are available a la carte. During the summer she also offers non-alcoholic mixed tea drinks, like the 'Mo-Tea-To' (iced tea with lime, mint and sweetener).

Locally-made art pieces, and tea accessories (teapots, strainers, cups, etc.) are also for sale at Satori Tea Bar, and the owner hosts local musicians regularly for evening tea parties. If you're in the area, you should go down to Satori Tea Bar!
