Food: I have been to several tea rooms and this is by far the BEST. I have been here for teas, for dinner with my husband, and I have hosted a wedding shower for my girlfriend. Each and every time, the food was delicious, the service was exeptional, the atmosphere is charming, sophisticated, and elegant. I would considered this to be a 5 STAR Tea Room. Sadly, I have seen some of the other reviews, and I have to ask... What is your agenda people???? Karen and her staff only deserve praise and gratitude. I will continue to be a continued customer of the Scarlet Tea Room and often tell collegues and friends to try it when they want to escape into a beautiful world... |

Food: I have been visiting the Scarlet Tea Room since it opened. It is a staple on my place to take my friends when visiting the LA area. ALWAYS AMAZING, staff goes beyond to make it a special experience for everyone. My daughter is always made to feel like a princess (she's still in preschool). Food: I could have gone to the super market and got a better scone. It was just okay. The tea was nice, but not superior quality. The server forgot about us... several times, and the tea room wasn't anywhere near busy. The manager came to talk to us (we wanted to have a party there and thought better of it), she was inaprobriate and and snarky...both to us and then to our server. She thought she was being charming and making the sale. Quite the opposite. I wanted it to be better, I really did. |

Food: 12 friends and I recently visited the Scarlet Tea Room for a celebration. They graciously accommodated our group. The food was very good and the service outstanding. They did not rush us. One person had a food allergy and they worked around that. |

Food: The Scarlet Tea Room truly is Pasadena's best kept secret. I've had tea all over the world and this is in the top 3. The food is beautiful in presentation and everything is so yummy. The service is downright wonderful-you can tell they really care about each and every guest. My tea was steeped perfectly and they always made sure I had plenty of it in my pot. I live in San Francisco but will be sure to stop in on my trips to SoCal. |

Food: I LOVE THIS PLACE!! So elegant yet comfortable-You will find me here on most special occasions. Many of their ingredents are organic, they add a delightfully delicious twist to everything, AND easily accomadate special dietary needs. (great for my book club and allergic children!) Lunch and dinner is also delicious and seriously artistic. I sometimes wake up craving their soups scones!! |

Shame on some people for telling horrible stories. Don't you understand what kind of damage you can do? There are ways of finding out who you are and you can be sued for liable. |

Food: i came here with a friend who i lost touch with and thinking we would indulge in tea and have ourselves a good time was foolish. The stingy server jillian rushed us in ordering and then walked away and ordered for us the most $$$ meal. Then when i complained this server said she would spit in our sandwiches if we did i was appalled and upset. I really wanted my friend and i to have a good time and we didnt. beware that server jillian should be fired for her rude comments and maybe they need to hire people who actually know what good customer service i mean seriously how hard is it to have decent moreals and ethics. |

Food: We've been to this place twice. The first visit was 'okay,' but the second visit was extremely disappointing. Our order was incorrect and the server was over the top pretentious. The food is good, albeit over priced, and the tea selection is minimal. One nice thing they offer on Sundays is live piano. |

Food: What an incredable restaurant. Scarlet, you bring afternoon tea to another level. I was a bit scetical about having tea at a new place. What a surprise to find food like this in Pasadena. West is truly coming to East. Reading other revews I agree that a person has to have culenary refinment to find tahini chicken exciting. How can people call this food average. Tea tier was better than Harrods.I will try the dinner soon. Scarlet is a gem in Pasadena. |

I have had much better at other tea rooms. There was creativity missing with the foods so everything seemed ordinary. A very awkward experience was having to walk through a large private wedding shower party to get to the ladies room. That set up was poor thinking! |

Food: I took my mother here today for a delayed Mother's Day tea. The atmosphere is lovely: comfortable yet stylish, and elegant but not old-fashioned. I had the Mademoiselle Grey tea, which was outstanding, and my mother really enjoyed the Darjeeling. The food was delivered promptly. The sandwiches were terrific, and the scones were delicious. The desserts were a bit lacking: they were either not flavorful or too sweet (although the chocolate cake-like dessert was amazing). The service was outstanding: we were always seen to, and taken care of immediately. Our server Louis was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We really enjoyed our afternoon here! |

Food: A group of us have been enjoying the ritual of Afternoon Tea for many years. We went to the Scarlet Tea Room for the first time, and it was a great choice! The atmosphere was elegant and friendly. The food was delicious, but more importantly, the tea was heavenly. I suggest sampling the Mademoiselle Gray (organic) and Figi (green tea). Truly a place to indulge the senses, and treat yourself to a moment of respite and refinement. |

Food: My girlfriend and I went to celebrate her birthday. The Prosciuto appetizer was excellent. The smoked salmon and egg salad sandwiches came with a small green salad and potato slices. Both were excellent. We tried the strawberry hibiscus tea which is also very good. Scarlet Tea Room is a very elegant place. I always think of it when I want to celebrate a special occasion. |

My initial impression when entering the Scarlett Tearoom was noticing how lovely the decor was. I was ready for a great tea experience. Well, Inspite of certain aspects that displeased me, I still enjoyed myself. I ordered a nice black tea that was steeped perfectly. I ordered a variety of tea sandwiches that tasted pretty good. The scones was a little dry and cold. Had it been heated it might have been better. The champagne was very sweet and tasted inexpensive. That's fine if you like sweet. Friendly Service and tasty sandwiches and desserts is what you should expect from this place. Love this place and am planing on taking my mother there this Mother's Day. Food: I am making it a point to write a review for all of the tea houses I have visited in So Cal...starting with my FAVORITE!! I just love this place! It is so-o chic and sophisticated. The staff is professional and the menu is reasonably priced. I usually order a sandwich meal and the mini tea. I've been here 5-6 times and I have never had a poor experience... I find it really hard to believe that the people who wrote these negative reviews actually stepped foot in this tea house. Everything they are saying sounds completely out of character for this restaurant.... I'm kind of glad they won't be coming back though so I won't have to see grumpy people in my favorite tea escape. |

Food: The food, pastries and scones were supermarket quality, way too expensive for such ordinary food. The service was POOR! The waitress was RUDE! Only allowed us to add water to the tea pot Twice and wanted us to order more food when we were full. She even rush us to leave when the restaurant was closing in 1 hour. Food: Karen has raised the bar on tea rooms. Scarlet Tea Room is to tea what Cirque du Soleil is to the circus. She is a class act and her eatery shows it.
