Variety: While visiting tea rooms around southern ca. this one stood out as a gem. We're light eaters so we chose to split their 5 course tea ceremony. Though their pricing isn't the least expensive of places we've visited & (I wish someone would list a reasonably price tea for 2), the food was delicious. No complaints on the tea. The atmosphere comfortable & the service friendly, & attentive. We left feeling full & content & pleased we visited this location for our monthly tea trip. |

Variety: Was at this tea room with a group of costumers at a cost of $35 per person. Unfortunately, coming from San Diego we arrived late. The server was very disagreeable when we asked for something to eat. She replied 'That is why you should arrive on time, we are not a restaurant'. Finally, out of disgust, she brought 2 dried, hard, unedible biscuits and stated 'This is what I found in the back.' The tea itself is non-mentionable as it was tinted warm water. Out of all my years of attending fashionable, exquisitely presented tea in various tea rooms across the state - this was a first. I will relate this event to any and all for the rest of my days. |

Tearoom Response
I am certain that you are referring to another tea room. The Scarlet Tea Room & Fine Dining is a full service restaurant. We serve lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. We bake our own scones, roughly around 300 per day. Very popular. I am very surprised that you were served a biscuit when we have none to serve. Our scones are much softer than English scones. We have a special water purifier and warmer for our teas, therefore I do not understand you being served warm water. Standard is 195 degrees and we always comply. Please give Scarlet an opportunity to serve you. We have exceptional food & service.Karen Mikaelian owner |

Variety:
I met a friend here for a going-away tea—I quite enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, but was disappointed in the tea. |
