Serendipity Tea Room and Cafe'

Visited during the fall months and the owners invited us back to see everything decorated for Christmas. Definitely worth the trip. Like stepping back in time when you walk through the door. Such a quaint and inviting little place. The menu assortment was homemade, fresh, and delicious. Definitely our new favorite place. Keep up the good work Piper and Don and we will see you in the spring!

My friends and I visited the tea room for lunch over the holidays and the Serendipity Tea Room exceeded our expectations! Not only were the decorations beautiful, the food and the servers were amazing. Our lunches were more than enough food for one person, but how could anyone deny homemade cheesecake?! Everything was excellent and I cannot wait to go back!

The saying, 'good things come in small packages' is an understatement when referring to Serendipity Tea Room. We enjoyed a candlelight tea during the Christmas season and it surpassed any we have experienced in the city. Take an afternoon and savor the delicious foods and atmosphere. You will be glad you did! Thank you Serendipity for a wonderful evening to remember.

Just wanted to thank you Serendity for an amazing lunch last week! My mom doesnt get out too often so bringing her here was an added joy for me! We always spent afternoons sipping tea in my childhood, making me feel grown up. Now as an middle aged adult, Im repaying my mom for those special moments! This close to the holidays you managed to come through with such welcoming and honest service. We couldve spent hours looking around your shop at all the amazing collections you have. As well as being able to actually cross off a few from my xmas list with your available gift arrangements! We LOVED the selection of teas! And being able to actually unwind with conversation and very well prepared food brought back old memories!

I've seen Serendipity decorated for each of the holidays, but my Mom and I enjoyed lunch yesterday and the Christmas decor is by far my favorite! It's like stepping back in time! We had our usual chicken salad and scones! Loved the new Christmas cookie coffee! If you have an hour to spare this Christmas season, stop in an enjoy lunch! You will be glad you did!

Yesterday my friends and family had our Candlelight Christmas tea at Serendipity! What can I say...Piper and her staff were amazing! There were 26 of us at the tea in this beautiful tearoom! Piper added so many beautiful touches for our tea including a beautiful candlelight setting! The food was wonderful... amazing scones, out of this world cheesecake and wonderful tortellini soup!!!! Thank you piper for a wonderful evening! Cannot wait to see you for our Valentines Day tea!!!!

My sister Camile and I felt like we stepped into a fairytale when we visited for lunch this past weekend. My salad was as beautiful as it was delicious and I couldn't help but try my sister's bacon tomato basin sandwich! Although we were full, we managed to make room for Piper's to die for cheesecake! My husband made me take a piece home for him too :) Thank you Piper for making us feel so at home. We will definitely be sure to visit soon. I can't wait to see your holiday decor!

Lite tea? I think not!!! It was wonderful! I could have stopped after the scone! Such a sweet place; it's a hidden treasure. We will be back in December - can't wait. Keep up the great work!

WOW! My mother and I attended 'Lite Tea' with 4 courses this past Saturday. The entire experience was amazing... 1st, White Chocolate Scone. 2nd, Homemade Creamy Chicken and Dumpling Soup. 3rd, Homemade Chicken Salad Sandwich with Homemade Cranberry Relish and Tomato Bacon Basil Grilled Cheese. 4th, Cranberry Cookie, A Peanut Butter Truffle and Homemade Cheesecake. We enjoyed every last crumb of the meal. They have an amazing amount of tea to choose from, including decaf. The decaf 'House Tea' Apricot was delish! We look forward to going back in December 'just because'. Wonderfully decorated. Pleasant and cheerful staff.

My friend and I just happened to find Serendipity on the internet... We are so glad we did! The atmosphere was very warm and inviting. There was a huge variety of teas including decaffeinated ones. I personally had the decaf Apricot tea. I ordered the special of the day which was 1 chicken salad sandwich, a raspberry salad topped with feta cheese and walnuts, and a scoop of ice cream for dessert! In addition to that, both my friend and I ordered the homemade Raspberry Cheesecake... It was WONDERFUL!!! We are definitely spreading the word to our friends and family. It was truly a great experience!

Wonderful experience. Atmosphere charming,relaxing. China cups, tea pots and dishes accessorized with linens and candles made it especially inviting. The variety of teas(bags) to choose from was extensive. Apricot and Ginger- Peach (Ashby) brand were delicious. We had high tea and taste and presentation left you satisfied and excited for the next course. The chicken salad sandwich with the cranberry relish on the side was scrumptous! Yummmm...so good. The 'grilled cheese' sandwich with balsamic spread was absolutely wonderful too.(Served hot). Beef vegetable soup with noodles was delicious. Great pairing if you choose to do lunch instead of high tea. Can't wait to go back for either. Our server was pleasant and very attentative. Courses kept on coming. Always attentative to our tea pot and... (more) water always hot and full. Had to get the dessert course to go. Full. She packed up a high tea to go. My sister said' you brought everything'; went straight for the scone.Thought the apricot tea was great. She enjoyed it as well, but unfortunately we couldn't take the ambiance to her. Plan to return for lunch or high tea for her birthday celebration in Dec. Well worth the one hour and 15 minute drive. Enjoyed Serendipity. Would recommend you take your best friends for a treat. Shopping in quaint little block too.

From the moment I met Piper and was seated, my experience was glorious. It is a beautiful tea romm and the quality of food and sevice was outstanding. I have already spread the word to all my friends. Will return soon.

Took the I70 exit and just happened upon this quaint place. The owners chatted with us on the porch as we enjoyed a delicious lunch. I guess you could call this 'Serendipity!' We were so impressed with the hospitality, delicious menu, and sweet decor. We left wishing we lived closer! We will be back on our way home. Wonderful!

What a quaint little place! We had a wonderful lunch and the ice cream was absolutely delicious! Definitely a must if you are looking for something out of the ordinary.

I've been to tea several times with my girlfriends, but this time I talked my hubby into going. He admitted he was pleasantly surprised. We loved our lunch and dessert and took a pound of chicken salad home. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and will definitely be back!

Took my little niece for lunch! She was treated like a princess! From the tiny teapot and teacup to the heart shaped grilled cheese, she loved every minute! She especially loved her fancy Nancy hat!!!! Will be back before school starts!!!

For my sister's 60th birthday, I took her, myself, and 2 adult daughters to The Serendipity Tea Room. Now, we have been to 3 other tearooms; however, this is BY FAR #1 on our list. Even though it was a 2 hour ride for us, it was by far so worth it! Decorations - Adorable, Cleanliness - Perfect, Food - To Die For, Hostesses - The Best Part. We will now make this 2 hour trip for special occasions such as Christmas Tea and Mother's Day. All my sister said all day was I had the best birthday ever. Thank you for making her day so special!

Planned a birthday tea for our sister and decided to give Serendipity a try! Usually go to the Johnston House, but have to say we found a new place for our get togethers! The high tea was wonderful and service excellent! Planning a return visit soon and definitely worth the trip!

Found this website and drove from Ohio! Loved, loved, loved this place! It is the perfect place to experience a happy, delicious luncheon experience.

I had plans to meet a friend for lunch. When I opened the door I was greeted with a surprise bridal luncheon tea. My Mom, future mother-in-law, and bridesmaids were sitting at a beautifully decorated table with touches of my selected wedding color! We were served a wonderful lunch (I have been craving the lemon cranberry scone ever since)!!!! What a nice surprise in such a beautiful establishment! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Thank you to Piper and staff for making everything so special!

My girlfriend highly recommended Serendipity. We enjoyed a light tea as the owner suggested for our first visit! What a wonderful variety of delicious foods presented beautifully. By the time we left we had scheduled our next visit and were thinking of friends that we want to share this wonderful place with. We traveled from Upper Saint Clair and it was worth the trip!

Hidden wonder! My mom and I accidentily found this wonderful tea room. We came to see my fathers family in Allenport and drove by this area twice before we turned in. The place is an oasis away from the hustle/bustle of life. When you enter you are greeted by a delightful young lady (who will be going to college this fall). Guys, she is beautiful inside and out - a rare quality in our young girls of today. The food was delicious and presented in a beautiful manner. The atmosphere was so peaceful we felt at home as we love these types of resturants. The owner was delightful and came out of the back to visit with her patrons. One of the ladies coveted an item and we all teased the owner to frisk her before she leaves. Next thing we know, she is bringing out the item in a bag to give... (more). That is great business and a big heart. As we left, she gave us a wonderful portion of chicken salad, rolls, and cranberry sauce for mom and I to take to the hotel for a late night snack (delicious).
If I lived closer this would be the place I bring my friends and family or a place for me to run away to. You are doing a great job; good luck to the daughter in all her endeavors. God Bless.

Attended a princess tea party held in honor of my 5 year old granddaughter's birthday. The attention to detail was amazing. The owner and staff entertained the children while the adults enjoyed a buffet luncheon. Everything was so organized and adorable! My granddaughter is still talking about the beautiful princess that came to her party!!!! Thank you Serendipity for making her 'dream come true!'

How cute is this place!!!! We enjoyed a fresh raspberry salad on the side porch and for an hour it felt as though we were on vacation! Take an hour out of your day and enjoy! We found a little gem in the Mon Valley!!!!

My Mother and I just happened upon this quaint little place on Saturday after having lunch at a local restaurant. We split a wonderful lemon cranberry scone and the owner offered a sample of the most delicious ice cream. Can't wait to visit again soon - this time for lunch and of course dessert!!! What a delightful experience my friends and I had this Saturday. Piper and her daughter made us feel like family welcomed and making sure we had what we needed. The high tea was wonderful from the homemade scone,cold peach soup and the dessert trio was over the top.We meet a daughter and mother who were visiting the area and next thing you know we where all talking and enjoying tea and the lovely atmosphere-makes you feel like a 'little girl' again. My friends and I are planning a return visit soon.

Recently took my 3 granddaughters for a princess tea party! The food and service were outstanding. The table was set with tiny teacups and teapots, princess linen napkins, and a cute craft to keep the girls busy while we waited for our lunch to be served! We decided to make this an annual event! What an enjoyable afternoon!

My cousin and I recently celebrated our birthdays at Serendipity. What a delightful surprise to experience not only the beautiful atmosphere, but the high tea menu selections were fantastic! The peach soup was delicious! The staff was so personable and took the time to explain each course as it was served. Looking forward to our next visit.

My daughter-in-law and I started a very special 'girl's weekend' at Serendipity on 6/18/11. We selected Serendipity from 3 choices in the area based on their friendly conversation when I called for reservations. We loved the beautiful decor, the vast selection of teas, the continual good service in keeping us supplied with fresh hot water, the delicious food included in our high tea, and the excellent service we received by the entire staff. We had a chance to meet the owner who stopped at our table to make sure we were pleased. It is obvious that she takes pride in her establishment. We can highly reccomend Serendipity!!!

Just visited Serendipity for the third time. We decided to order from the menu rather than our usual lite tea. Absolutely loved the raspberry salad with scoop of chicken salad. Add Serendipity to your list of 'must visits' this summer. We will be back!

I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone with all the good reviews. Was very disappointed.

We love the Serendipity Tea Room! Whenever we are in PA, the ladies in our family plan a 'tea party' at Serendipity! We LOVE the food and the atmosphere. It is such a special place and holds many memories for our family (4 generations of ladies). WE all love the wonderful service as well. From the oldest (89) to the youngest (8), we LOVE Serendipity! You will too!

My friend, Maddy, introduced me to this delightful tea room recently to celebrate our birthdays. What a beautiful afternoon! We had high tea with each course being an amazing gift to unwrap and devour with pleasure. I was very impressed with every aspect of the tea from the awesome service (thank you Bridgette), the tranquil atmosphere that took me back to another time and, of course, the beautifully presented and absolutely scrumptous food. The only thing that caught me off guard was the fact that I was too full to finish my dessert??? That never happens! The Serendipity is the best kept secret in the Mon Valley. . .but no longer to me. . .I will return.

I recently hosted a belated Mothers Day Tea at Serendipity for 18 people. As always our tea was outstanding!I have been to tea here on many occations in a large group or just with a special friend. The service is ALWAYS outstanding, the food is wonderful and Piper and the girls are the best! Thank you for always making us feel welcome and at home. My daughter recently took me for tea as a delayed Mother's Day gift. A wonderful experience again. Delicious and nice variety of teas. Food was delicious. I love the Victorian decor.The owner is so personable.Looking forward for a return visit!

I had lunch at the Serendipity with my 7 year old daughter. The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was fantastic!
They made my daughter feel like a little princess and she is still talking about it! Piper and the girls are top notch and I would recommend anyone to visit and enjoy the experience!

This tea house is teh sweetest little place. The owner/operators are friendly and inviting. They are local people and they know their clients. If they didn't before you got there, they will when you leave. The light salads and sandwiches are delightfully displayed. Really a picture. Great quality. Great taste. wonderful setting. You must visit!

Stopped for lunch and enjoyed a fresh raspberry salad topped with chicken salad. We then experienced a scone like no other -coconut cherry topped with homemade devonshire cream - absolutely delicious! What a pleasant surprise Serendipity was! Highly recommend!

Stumbled across this little gem just recently. What an adorable little place. So beautifully decorated and so warm and welcoming! Feels as though you are having lunch in your Grandmother's home! The food was absolutely delicious! Our waitress assisted us with the tea selections and the owner came out to chat. Thank you Piper and Jenn for making our first visit so nice. Will be back soon!!!

I came there for lunch last week and absolutely loved it!! There was a great variety of tea and the chicken salad on a croiassant was the best i've ever had. i got a LB. of it to go! the place was so beautifully decorated and i loved the hats you could wear. The service was so friendly and welcoming. I'll be coming back soon.

We celebrated my moms birthday this week everything was excellent.The chicken salad was the best.Our server was great,very friendly.We loved the whole experience it makes you feel like a kid at a tea party again from the fancy tea cups to the big floppy hats they have for you to wear.We will be back!
