Serendipity Tea Room and Cafe'

My mother and I recently visited Serendipity for a Mother's Day lite tea. We had never been there before, but heard so many great things (all of which were true). Our server was friendly, quick, and fun (she even took our picture at the table). The food was delicious from the scones to the sandwiches. Piper was an excellent host and made us feel so welcome. The decor was beautiful and vintage, there were so many details to appreciate. We had such a lovely time and plan on coming back for lunch very soon.

We visited this lovely venue for a special lunch. The high tea was delicious and beautifully served. The owner visted our table and Kate treated us like royalty. It is so nice to find a charming spot in the Mon Valley. We will be coming back.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! We visited while everything was 'green' for St. Pat's Day and just had lunch at the aqua table all decorated for Easter! The food and service were wonderful as usual. We have been telling everyone about Serendipity and even 'liked' you on facebook!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

We have enjoyed this tearoom during each season of the year. It is decorated beautifully, the staff is very accommodating and friendly, and the homemade tea sandwiches, scones, salad and dessert served with the light tea are always excellent.

My friends and I are fortunate to have found this treasure. The delicious, home-made food, beautiful atmosphere, and superb service by the owner and her staff make this quite an enjoyable experience. Each and every visit ensures delicious and beautifully-presented food, a relaxing time with friends, and pleasant conversation with Piper and her staff. The 'light' tea includes four delicious courses, and an extensive variety of tea.

Enjoyed our first visit to Serendipity over the Christmas holiday. To say were were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The food was wonderful and the staff friendly and prompt. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I look forward to returning.

We visited Serendipity over the Christmas holiday. When we arrived, the music was playing and it was so calming and inviting. The table settings were lovely. I particularly loved the mismatched china. The food was homemade, plentiful, and delicious. The service was friendly. It was such a happy place I didn't want to leave. I highly recommend the experience to everyone.

From the friendly owners and staff, our entire high tea experience was delightful. The food was delicious and plentiful and the atmosphere was beautiful yet relaxed. We loved everything so much we purchased gift certificates for our family and plan to visit again soon!

Christmas at Serendipity was wonderful. The holiday decor and yummy food was the best. We attended the Halloween Witch's Tea in October and enjoyed Medium, Debra with her spot-on readings. We loved it and can't wait to come back again!

Can you give someone more than 5 stars?! This is the sweetest place and I love spending time there. There are very few places you can go to sip great tea, enjoy wonderful homemade food, and great conversation with the owner and staff. God Bless Serendipity ~ my new favorite place.

I came to this tearoom for the first time and absolutely loved it. The tea and food offered were simply delightful. The service was wonderful and extremely friendly. The afternoon spent at Serendipity was a treat. I have been telling everyone about this wonderful little place.

I took my Mom and sister to Serendipity and couldn't have picked a better time. The holiday decor was beautiful. They even lit the beautiful candelabra during our lunch. The food was amazing (we took chicken salad and scones home), the service spot on, and the attention to detail was perfect down to the floral decorated sugar cubes. We enjoyed our lovely afternoon and will visit again for sure.

I had the pleasure of spending a December afternoon at Serendipity Tea Room with my Best Friend. I was an adorable place with lovely decor and exceptional service (hats too!). I would recommend it to everyone.

We had full tea with salad, soup, sandwiches and dessert. Being vegetarian they did a nice job of meeting my needs, the soup and dessert were my favs but above all the tea was lovely.

I can't wait to return!

I visited Serendipity for high tea with my best friend as a pre-Christmas treat. We had such an amazing time. The ambiance is just perfect - clean and cute. The food and tea was wonderful. I highly recommend the Apricot tea, which was on special that day. It was so good I ended up buying some to bring home.

I think the best part of my experience (besides the food which was really yummy) was the service. Everyone was happy and knowledgeable, willing to go out of their way without hovering or being overbearing. I never felt rushed, which was great because I could have stayed all day! Can't wait to go back again!

I visited Serendipity for the first time in December. I honestly felt like I was in a Dickens Village scene. The victorian decor was beautiful, the food was wonderful (I can't stop thinking about the chicken salad and carrot cake ice cream), and the staff (Nancy) was so sweet. I recommend this little place to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary.

My sister, a good friend & myself visited the Serendipity Tea Room & to say it was a great experience would be an understatement. The staff was attentive, the atmosphere was relaxing & the Victorian decor was absolutely beautiful. The place was packed & for a good reason....the food & tea is delicious. We LOVED it & look forward to our next visit.

This was my second time to the tea room and I have to say the food was much better this time, I don't know if it's because there was only two of us and the last time there was six. The scones were much better this time and the mushroom tortellini soup was out of this world and I really need to go back for some more.

I have been to Serendipity multiple times for teas and private parties and Piper and her are always welcoming and attentive. They know their customers well. Her scones are awesome!

Our Girlfriend Getaway was delightful....the victorian atmosphere, the staff and the food was wonderful.....we wore fancy hats while enjoying lite-tea...the atmosphere is relaxing,friendly,and oh-so quaint.......we plan on going back very soon....this is a 'gem'...thanks to everyone.

My family and I are always greeted warmly and we truly feel like a part of their family! I had my sister's bridal shower here and the staff made this day so beautiful, enjoyable, and memorable!!

This sweet little tea room is packed with Victorian charm and accents. Beautifully coordinated china, napkins, decorations. I hosted a surprise birthday tea for a friend and couldn't have been any happier with the results. The food, as always, was fresh and delicious. The staff is so very friendly and pleasant. Piper, the owner, was so very helpful and gave attention to all the details I requested - china colors, decorations, napkins, tweaks to the menu - all part of my plan. The guest of honor even had a rose-decorated happy-birthday cup. My lucky guests all took home a half-pound of Serendipity's wonderful chicken salad. A perfectly lovely day!

I had the good luck to find this enchanting tea room while visiting the area. My friend and I stopped for lunch and were treated to the most fabulous chicken salad plate I've ever experienced! We even splurged on dessert which was scrumptious!! The food was excellent as well as the atmosphere and presentation. Our server couldn't have been more delightful! I would recommend treating yourself to a visit to Serendipity! You'll be glad you did!

Stopped in after a wonderful visit to the Westmoreland Museum of Art with my sister and husband. It was almost closing time at the tea room...we were peering in the windows...sad that it was so late..but the owners invited us in...what a wonderful treat!!! Memories...thank you.

We celebrated my daughters 6th birthday at Serendipity Tea Room and throughly enjoyed the experience. The wait staff were friendly and very helpful. The Princess party consisted of a special Pink Lemohenade in their own teapots that they served in their own Saucer and cups. They had grilled cheese sandwiches shaped like hearts and strawberries. The dessert was strawberry ice cream with real strawberries in it. The experience was really enjoyable and we hope to do it again.

I went here with my family for a mother day/birthday tea. Tea here was fantastic involved several courses - soup, salad, sandwiches, dessert, in addition to the varieties of tea. Also included in the group was an almost 5 year old girl. Not only did they handle my mom, and my sister's mother-in-law's mother's day tea/meals, but also they prepared a special Princess tea for my niece which consisted of a grilled cheese sandwich in the shape of a heart, strawberries, and marshmallow treats (and of course her very own little tea pot) as well as a set of stickers to play with. The two men in my group (dad and brother) were also very pleased at the variety of the tea and courses.

The location is also along a river and in a quiet overall area with quaint shops.

It was a fun time for all. We were very pleased. I had 9 adults and 1 child in my group.

Received a Serendipity gift certificate from a dear friend. I had no idea this place existed. Haven't stopped talking about our lunch since we were there. The food was wonderful and the service pleasant. Would recommend taking time to visit. It was definitely worth it. Loved the entire exerience.
