Variety: I visited Serenity with a group of moms and we had a lovely time. Not only was the food delicious, it was BEAUTIFUL! The teas (I had hot cinnamon spice and scottish breakfast) were lovely as well. One of the moms had a valentine tea (with chocolate and floral notes) and it was delicious as well and very unique. I liked that we could choose to have different teas instead of only ordering one kind per person. The homemade jam was delicious and the cashew chicken salad was the most popular sandwich among our group. I am anxious to bring my female family members to afternoon tea. While there were men there as well, this place seems to evoke a truly feminine feel and experience. Definitely a nice place for a ladies day out. My only complaint was that it was ve... (more) |

Variety: I thoroughly enjoyed my recent visit to Serenity Tearoom. There was an excellent selection of teas, the quality of the food was supurb, the service was wonderful, and overall, the ambience was cordial and relaxing. I was extremely pleased and I would not hesistate to dine there again. |

Variety: A co-worker and I drove 140 miles round trip to try this tea room. It was well worth the drive. The house is charming. The decorating scheme is lovely and restful. The background music contributed to the overall peaceful feeling. The hostess was most gracious. The food was delicious and plentiful. The squash soup was particularly notable. I especially enjoy the 'bottomless pot', as part of the experience for me is trying various types and flavors of tea which I have never had before. I have only one suggestion ... such an elegant tea service deserves cloth napkins. Perhaps next time? Susan Harford County |

Variety: This was a great tea experience! The tea room is on a beautiful street in historic downtown Frederick, the dining room was beautifully decorated and relaxing. The homemade food was amazing and the quantities were huge! There were over 50 teas to choose from and once you finish your first pot, you can get a different selection, which I thought was a great touch. The owner was kind and courteous. It was a great afternoon experience and I highly recommend it over any other tea rooms in the area. You won't be disappointed! |

Variety: This was my first time at Serenity Tearoom. I really loved it. The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. I have to be honest and say the tea was too strong for my taste, but the flavor was excellent. Overall I think it is a winner! |

Variety: Treat yourself to High Tea with a cherished friend or family member at the Serenity Tearoom. The wide selection of teas, the freshly made tea sandwiches and pastries and the ambience of a historic room with classical music in the background set the stage for a memorable time. And let's not forget the welcoming attitude and personal attention given by the owner and staff. |

Variety: Since moving to Frederick, Md., one of the most pleasant surprises has been the Serenity Tea Room. Just a terrific place to drop in for great afternoon tea and delicious food. Serenity should be a must for both residents and day-trippers to Frederick. |

Variety: Best tearoom I've been to in YEARS! After our favorite tearoom shut down a few years ago, my mother and I thought we'd never be able to find a place that could live up to our expec'teas'ions. We tried a number of places in around Maryland, may were just snooty and hoity-toity. But after some searching we discovered, in our own backyard (of course), Serenity Tearoom. It was PERFECT. My mother and I plan to take at least one High Tea each month at Serenity Tearoom. What I loved best wasn't the AMAZING tea selection nor the WONDERFUL pastries, tea sandwiches, and other goodies. It was the EXCELENT service and atomosphere. The owner was our server for most of the tea and took the time to explain the tea and help us choose what WE would like not just what everyone else does. If you're ever in the Frederick area, even for the day, you have to go to Serenity Tearoom. You're missing a really unique and wonderful experience if you do not. |

Variety: I brought my mom here for her birthday. We both enjoyed our teas (Indian Spiced Chai and Scottish Breakfast) and soups (Butternut Squash and Chicken Chili). We appreciated that the food was the little bites one would imagine for tea service and fresh. The owner and staff were very attentive and friendly. My mom and I enjoyed are time there. I look forward to visiting again. |

Variety: I took my 6-year old daughter for our first tea together - and we could not have had a better experience. She had peppermint tea - & really enjoyed her first 'hot tea'; I had the jasmine tea - both were perfection. We enjoyed looking at the tea cup collections, & chatting with Blanch. We had to take some lemon curd home with us; the loose leaf teas are the best, I buy them regularly. We will be back for afternoon tea for sure. |

Variety: Yesterday, I attended a birthday party at Serenity Tearoom. I was impressed with the quaint atmosphere and the location was perfect! I liked the wide variety (40+) of teas to choose from. The finger sandwiches were good, the jam and desserts were delicious! It was an fabulously enjoyable tea party on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Afterwards, I gave 'Kudos to Serenity Tearoom' to my fellow Tweeps on Twitter!! When I am in Frederick, MD I will be back for some 'teatime' :-) |

Variety: This was my first trip to a tearoom and it was truly a delightful afternoon. I went with my mother, sister, and 9 year old niece. We all have a great time and will probably make this a new family tradition. The food was excellent and we even bought some items to bring home. Atmosphere was very relaxed and peaceful. The choice of over 50 teas was great. We each got a different one and shared. All 4 were delicious. |

Variety: I must say that my afternoon at the Serenity Tearoom with my mother was one of the single most delightful experiences I have ever had in my life. The food was delicious, the variety and quality of the teas (40+ types of whole leaf) superb, and the service was highly attentive and made you feel welcome in every way. The decor was beautiful, the whole atmosphere relaxing and refreshing, and the cost of the event extremely reasonable. It was elegant and welcoming and altogether wonderful. I will most definately come back several times- Serenity Tearoom is our new mother-daughter tradition! |

Variety: For those who've never been to tea before will think this tea room is great! For those like myself who have been to many tea rooms, know this tea room is sub-par. I have been to tea here 6 times. All 6 times the menu has been exactly the same. With all the seasonal ingredients Frederick has to offer, it's very disappointing when you sit down to the same meal each time. The food is good, but I would love to see the menu varied. Once when I was there the owner instead of going to around to each table, announced loudly to the whole room at once the menu for the day, making the tea time experience less than desirable. I would recommend this tea room but only for a one time visit. |

Variety: The cold strawberry soup was amazing. My two year old wanted to eat the whole bowl herself. The scones were as light as air and were so delicious with the homemade jam and American style Devonshire cream. The selections of loose leaf teas made it so hard to choose but the Hazelnut Vanilla was delightful. The sandwiches were excellent I even enjoyed the egg salad sandwich and I usually don't eat egg salad. The desserts were all fabulous as well. The service was wonderful and this was a nice place for my daughter to have tea for the first time. The tearoom was quiet and peaceful. |

Variety: Recently went to tea at Serenity Tearoom. It was excellent. Great, friendly service. Outstanding food. I have been to the Waldolf-Astoria in N.Y. city for high tea and it doesn't compare to Serenity. You will not be disappointed. |

Variety: Five us had tea at Serenity and enjoyed every minute. It was a perfect experience. The service far exceeded excellent. We truly appreciated the Christian atmosphere. God has blessed us with the lovely owner. I just wish I lived in Frederick so I could go there every week. |

Variety: I came all the way from Italy to have tea at the Serenity with my friend Cathy. We both enjoy tea a lot and because we cook and appreciate good quality food, we were really satisfied with our afternoon tea (great sandwiches and chicken cajou tarts, as well as sweets). Blanch is a very good person, devoted to her passion/work and she made me dream of having a place like that myself in Italy. She really deserves a visit and her tea selection is so good you won't be able to go home without buying some. If you are looking for real traditional afternoon tea (muche better than my experience in London) and a lovely cosy place to enjoy it, Serenity is the answer! |

Variety: I was invited to Serenity Tearoom for the first time by my church. I was given a Farewell Tea after serving nine years as Firstlady of this church and what a way to go out. Variety: After having had an excellent experience with my group of Red Hat Ladies there, when the time arose for an outing with some of my church lady friends, the Serenity Tea Room was an easy choice. Once again, the food and service were excellent, and the staff was very friendly. A good time was had by all, with the ladies indicating that they would return. The next day at church they were still talking about it. |

Variety: While visiting family in MD, I wanted to treat them to a tea experience similar to the high teas I attend in FL. I used the teamap website to locate Serenity, made my reservations and hoped that the food and presentation wouldn't dissapoint. I was so very happy with Blanch's personal attention, her delicious food, the presentation and the atmosphere. The food was so good that we ordered extra to take home with us! The high tea was Southern Hospitality personified. I highly recommend Serenity! |

Variety: I visited this lovely tearoom with a friend and we had a wonderful time. The decor was elegant with fresh flowers on the table, with lovely damask tablecloths. The food is beautiful to look at and tastes as wonderful as it looks.Blanche served our food and is a wonderful hostess. She gracefully answered all of our questions regarding her teas, which are varied and extensive..Serenity is what I experienced here and Blanche freely shared her reasons this beautiful place exists. We will go back and take some friends also. |

Variety: I had my sister's baby shower at the Serenity Tearoom just last weekend and truly enjoyed it. The planning of the event was extremely easy, Blanche is a wonderful lady to work with. They even accomodated my mother, who has an extreme gluton allergy, by providing her with a beautiful salad to enjoy. The staff was very accomodating and polite, and made my sister feel very special. The tearoom is right in downtown Frederick, allowing for a wonderful downtown atmosphere. I am very happy with my experience there, and plan on having a future tea with my mother, sister, and her new daughter Catherine that is on the way! |

Variety: What a wonderful little place in the heart of Frederick. Blanch Henry's Serenity Tearoom is cosy and inviting. My husband and I enjoyed our afternoon tea there (and he's not big on tea rooms!). The service was warm and inviting and the food was fantastic. We really loved the egg salad sandwiches and the golden raisin scones were out of this world. I give Serenity my highest recommendation to anyone who wants a nice lunch or a pleasant afternoon tea. |

Variety: Truely this is Maryland's best tearoom. All the food was excellent, particularly the sandwiches. We really liked having two each to enjoy. They were very fresh and savory tasting. The sweets were just right in number and size. The scones were perfectly prepared and went well with the strawberry/blueberry jam, clotted cream, and lemon curd. The atmosphere and service were excellent, inviting, and warm. All the personnel working at the Serenity Tearoom were very friendly and nice. The owner introduced herself and stopped long enough to chat with us, which we enjoyed and made us feel welcomed. Of course, the tea was wonderful and there was a huge selection of these loose lead teas. We liked the fact we could purchase some to take home. |

Variety: My friend took me to the Serenity tea room for my birthday today. We had a lovely time sitting by the parlor window watching a school of five year old girls hold hand in hand as they walked down the street and we sipped our tea. I got the peach and ginger tea and was thrilled with the refined taste. I also had lunch which consisted of a unique chicken and cashew salad sandwich and pasta salad. For desert we each had one small carmel pecan tea cookie which was just enough to end a wonderful girl time meal with a friend. The people there are very friendly, but also knew when to let you sit and enjoy the time alone with a friend. I highly reccommend this lunch date with a good friend. |

Variety: Serenity Tearoom is my husband and my favorite place to go for a relaxing and enjoyable time. It is always the place I ask to be taken on my birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. There is a large variety of loose tea to choose from. My husband and I both have favorites in the food category and I'll usually trade something with him because he almost always is too full to eat the scone, which is one of my favorite parts of the meal. For the past year Blanche has offered a choice of home made soups with tea, cold in the summer and hot in the winter, which has made the meal even more special. I find Blanche and her family and employees to be so warm and inviting, our day is really special when we go to tea. I always find everyone there very accommodating which I ask for someth... (more) |

Variety: Blanche & her staff are a delight and they served an authentic 'English' style tea. One of the first I have had in the US. Most places pretend to serve an 'English' tea but don't I wish they would be honest and say 'American' Blanche is honest even to the point of informing you that the cream is not English Clotted, ok in my book cause she's honest. You guessed it I am English and Betty's in the UK is the 'Teashop' I set the standards by. Blanche comes pretty close to perfection and her choice of teas is remarkable. Her soups really are home made and are out of this world. She's the tops in my book andI'd take anyone there for tea. |

Variety: I have been fortunate enough to visit Serenity Tea Room a number of times over the past two years. I have taken many friends to celebrate special occasions and have NEVER been disappointed. My recent visit was a treat for my Birthday by my best friend, and we both enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing afternoon. Not only is there a very wide variety of fine teas offered, BUT, ALL the staff are familiar with each and every variety of tea and can make a recommendation based on your specific taste. We always leave feeling relaxed and pampered, not to mention, pleasantly full from the excellent, homemade food that is served so beautifully. Blanche, her family and staff, are always very pleasant, warm, and accomodating. I love that she addresees us by first name, making us feel like old friends who... (more) |

Variety: My husband found out about this tearoom from teamaps. He called and reserved a table for valentines day and took me there to SURPRISE ME. We live in Maryland and drove a hour and a half to reach the Serenity Tearoom. I went in first while my husband parked the car. I was just looking about their little shop seeingif maybe there was an item I'd like to purchase. A lady (the owner?) asked me if I was the Tim and Linda party and I said yes. I had already told another person we had arrived. The next words from this ladies mouth just totally aleinated me. I knew nothing except I was being surprised for Valentines day. I was my husbands guest. The lady decided I needed to be set right on her businesses RULES of practice. I got lectured. BUT being so generious a person she would still ... (more) |

Variety: I was at the Serenity Tearoom yesterday for a family friend's bridal shower. The shower included 15 guests, comprising 7 women in their 50s and 60s and 8 women in their mid/late-20s. Everyone had a fantasic, enjoyable time. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and a great way for us to remove ourselves from our everyday grind of DC and NYC metropolitan lifestyles. The was a large variety of tea to meet anyone's palate - both hot and cold teas. And the food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. I definitely recommend the Serenity Tearoom. |

Variety: My visit to Serenity Tearoom fully lived up to my expectations. A wide variety of loose leaf teas were offered which were specially brewed to individual taste. My favorites were the Valentines and Vanilla teas. The food was delicious and well presented. Not to be missed was the butternut squash soup. The owner managed to create a very welcoming atmosphere, going the extra mile of addressing each guest by name. Overall this was a great tea experience, and I cannot wait until my next visit! |

Variety: What a wonderful experience at Serenity Tearoom! After trying to get there for quite a while, it was worth the wait. The tea (loose leaf, you choose the variety and brewed just for you) was delicious. There was just enough food, it was delicious and presented in a pleasing way. Service is excellent as well. The gift shop has a nice array of teas, teapots and other goodies. A delightful experience and one that we will repeat! We're looking forward to returning when the weather will allow us to enjoy the outdoor setting. |

Variety: Each year I give my friend, Linda, a gift certificate for a traditional tea at Serenity Tearoom for her birthday. This year's celebration was on January 14. The extensive selection of teas, the variety of sandwiches and sweets, as well as the courteous service made our visit a wonderful way to leisurely spend a winter's afternoon! |

Variety: This was my first visit to Serenity but it will definitely not be my last. I brought a dear friend from Florida and we enjoyed two calming hours just for ourselves. We enjoyed three teas which included Golden Monkey, Mango and the Holiday blend, soup and a variety of sandwiches, scones and desserts. Everything was wonderful. We were visited personally by owner, Blanche, who is delightful. I am already looking forward to my next visit. |

Variety: My husband and I spent a lovely afternoon at the Serenity Tearoom. We enjoyed everything - an outstanding listing of teas to choose from, the wonderful homemade food that was prepared and the elegance of Serenity (a comfortable and most relaxing setting where we could have stayed for the rest of the day). We were treated like royalty from the time we entered until we left. I look forward to returning soon. Yvette |

Variety: My mother, sister and I recently visited Serenity for a rememberance tea for my grandmother who had passed. The owner made us feel at ease and went out of her way to make it a special first visit, even taking time to talk to us about our loved one. The food was wonderful and the tea selection is enormous. We left feeling full not only in our stomachs but in our hearts too. We all look forward to coming in the summer to partake of the iced tea selections!!! |

Variety: I visited the Serenity Tea Room for the first time 12/6/08. The atmosphere was very lively, yet it felt private. I chose a smoky Scottish breakfast tea which was delicious. While the tea sandwiches and tarts were unique and delicious, the scones (which I usually do not like) were heavenly. I chose the cranberry orange and ended up taking a 6pk home. They were moist and very flavorful. YUMMMMMMMMMMM! I'll be back. |

Variety: I have been to many tea rooms and this was one of the best. Everything on the menu was delicious - especially the butternut squash soup (I don't like squash). It was hard to decide which tea to choose. Everyone was welcoming, I felt more like I was visiting with friends than as a customer. The atmosphere was relaxing, welcoming, and serene. It was definitely worth the long drive and I plan to visit again - often. |

Variety: My mother-in-law found Serenity tea room online as a surprise for my 40th birthday. Wow! What a gem! The owner and other workers were absolutely delightful. The shop is asolutely adorable, but quaint, old world and high end all at the same time. The teas were outstanding ( must try the Strawberry iced tea and the Earl Grey hot tea!). I believe the majority of her teas are loose and they sell their teas and other adorable things in their shop. All of the food was outstanding. It was a perfect way to celebrate my bithday and Serenity made it even more perfect. We will be back! |
