5 stars all around for this cozy, polished tearoom. Angel was very knowledgeable regarding the tea selection and helped us make great choices. We received perfectly brewed teas in small plain pots which we then enjoyed drinking from a fantastic variety of cups that the owner has collected over many years ~ beautiful presentation. My cold strawberry soup was outstanding. The finger foods allowed us to taste a variety of textures and flavors that were chosen carefully so that each morsel complements another ~ well balanced. Almost all of the food is prepared fresh, on premises. I highly recommend Serenity.

We loved the selection of teas and the quality of food and drink. The pastries were particularly nice. Service left something to desire. It took a long time to get tea to our table. I think it's the individual pots. I would rather share a large pot (or two) at the table than have to wait so long for all the individual pots. I was also a little put-off by the litany of reasons for potential fees that my credit card risked if any of my friends decided not to show or changed their mind about what they wanted for tea. (You have to make your menu selection in advance.) Although it's probably personal preference, I didn't like the idea of 'seating' times. Having to arrive at a certain hour, receiving slow service and then being rushed out (albeit nicely...with to go cups) took away from the experience. Overall, this was a very nice tea house with superior food/tea quality. With a few tweaks in the service concept it would be a nearly perfect experience.

I brought a group of 10 for the first time to Serenity Tearoom. What a wonderful experience we all had. There was a wide variety of loose leaf teas to choose from. We all had something different and everyone enjoyed the kind they had chosen. The food was fresh, flavorful, and plenty. The setting was quaint and lovely. Ms. Blanche was a wonderful hostess to us. We all had such a good time that I'm sure we will return

We love Serenity Tearoom! Blanche, Angel and the other staff at Serenity Tearoom are always pleasant, courteous and very friendly. We recently held my daughter's Bridal Shower at Serenity Tearoom and it was a wonderful experience. All the Shower guests raved about the food, not only was it delicious but the presentation was beautiful. Angel is so talented, she decorated the chocolate covered strawberries in the colors of the Wedding (a bride) for my daughter and tuxedos (in browns & blues) for the rest of the guests. They were adorable! My daughter has been to tearooms all over the world and she says she isn't exaggerating that Serenity Tearoom is 'The Best!' We highly recommend Blanche and the staff at Serenity Tearoom for a leisurely afternoon tea or having them host an afternoon social event. We attend all of the special event teas that Serenity Tearoom offers, we highly recommend them, you won't be disappointed!

Love love love this tearoom! My favorite place to have tea and I've been to many! Blanche is a wonderful hostess and puts her heart and soul into this tearoom. Wonderful scones, delicious sandwiches and desserts, many choices for toppings and an extensive selection of great teas! I've been telling all my friends about this place. Blanche and her staff were warm and welcoming and had prepared beautiful foods. There were so many teas on the menu (65), it was tough to pick one. Fortunately, you don't have to stop at one - our party of 4 each had 2 kinds and we shared them so we had a lot of variety. What a delightful experience; I'll certainly go back.

The variety of sandwiches, scones and desserts was excellent, and there was more food than I could eat! The whole leaf tea selection was extensive and varied; I think there were close to 70 teas; the teas were also for sale in the gift shop. The atmosphere was quiet in what was likely the living room of an old brownstone.

'Excellent' expresses it all and describes my third experience at Serenity Tearoom in Frederick MD. Our hostess, the owner, was warm, welcoming and gracious. She was so in touch with each of our needs, which included 8 guests and one with special dietary needs. The menu was beautifully developed, described, prepared and served. Of note are the butternut squash soup, the cranberry orange scones with Key Lime curd, and the selection of tea sandwiches. Oops, don't forget the beautifully presented tea desserts! If you seek a beautifully delivered afternoon tea in the Frederick MD area, please consider Serenity Tearoom.

I took my friend to Serenity Tea Room as a Christmas present and we had a delightful time. I'm a vegetarian and they checked with me when I made the reservation, so they would be prepared. The food was delicious. The one soup was not to my tastes and I politely passed on it. The proprietor was extremely kind and took it off of my bill. Lovely experience.

I just got home from having a birthday tea at Serenity Tearoom with 7 friends. It was PHENOMENAL. Blanch, the owner, is charming and personable and really takes the time to explain the food and tea selections to you. My party and I had the traditional high tea, which was $37.00 per person. This price included tax and gratuity.

The food was to die for! I had the butternut squash soup and I've never had better. Creamy and seasoned perfectly. The hubby had the white chicken chili and is still talking about how good it was. Each of the tea sandwiches were perfectly presented and had an astonishing amount of filling, considering they are finger sandwiches. The star of the show, however, were the scones. Like most of the food served at Serenity, they are made from scratch everyday. I h... (more)

A friend took me to the tearoom on Saturday. We just wanted to have tea and scones. Unfortunately, their dining room was full but they prepared and packaged everything for us to go. The owners are fabulous and the service was terrific. We took our delightful bundles down by the creek and enjoyed our treats. My husband and 4-year old daughter took me to Serenity Tearoom for my birthday. Serenity Tearoom is simple and very friendly. It does not have that stuffiness or pretentiousness sometimes found at other tearooms. Serenity Tearoom offers a wide selection of teas. My husband, who is not an avid tea drinker like me, loved the hazelnut vanilla tea. The food is homemade and delicious - really enjoyed the butternut squash soup. The owner, Blanch Henry, served us and she was very personable. She was so accommodating to our daughter. She was an absolutely lovely lady. If you get the chance, you have to meet her. It was superb service - including the added artistic birthday treat at the end. The only negatives I have is that the dining room can be a little noisy and the sight of paper napkins can be a little off-putting; but the overall experience was lovely - very comparable to british tearooms, such as Auntie's Tea Shop in Cambridge (visited in 1996).

It was a very good experience; however, there should be more savory offerings a fewer sweets. In a normal meal, the ratio is not 50-50. I would have preferred 70% savory and 30% sweet.

I am from New York and have also spent much time in Ireland and England, The Serenity Tearoom would easily become a popular gathering place in any of these areas. The selection, and high quality, of the tea served is wonderful, plus it is prepared in the proper manner which is so important in ensuring a pure taste. The tea sandwiches, the scones, and the sweets were all sheer delights. This is a tearoom that is not to be missed! The Links Divas, from Gettysburg, PA, all had a serene, and sublime, experience.

I visited Serenity Tearoom for the first time on Saturday. The service was great. The owner/server made you feel really welcome. There were so many teas to choose from. The food was good and the cost of the tea was a great place. I have paid $50 plus dollars for teas and paid half the price this time with the same amount of food. The best part is being able to change you tea without being charged I would recommend this place for tea. Very quaint atomsphere.

The first tea place I ever went to was a Jane Austen tea room in England, so America had a lot to live up to after that. The Serenity Tea Room would have lived up to Austen's expectations. Dozens and dozens and dozens of tea options. You are not given many options to choose from with pastries and sandwiches, but what we got was still delicious and entirely homemade, so I cannot complain. :)

This experience was fabulous. My mom and I visit tea rooms as often as our schedules allow, and this tea room was by far our favorite. My grandmother joined us, and we were celebrating birthdays and our wonderful mothers for Mother's Day. I can't imagine a better way to spend such a special time of year.

The soups were cold-- I had cucumber, my mom had mixed fruit and my nana had strawberry. We sampled each and loved them ALL. The tea variety was extensive, and the smaller pots allowed you to sample other teas.
