There were quite a few guests at Sofia's the day we had tea, and many were recurring. Based upon the quality and variety of food, the perfectly prepared cuppa and the warm, attentive and friendly hostess, I will go back again.

My sisters and mother recently visited Sofia's Tea Room and loved the experience. Tea, food and service were all excellent (and very filling). When we called last minute to add our little 5-year-old niece to the party, Sofia graciously made the necessary arrangements. We arrived about 10 minutes later and she had already set a place for her with children's teacup and a special children’s menu including a princess ring as a gift. Watching our niece's face when she received her princess ring made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Thanks Sofia.

We had a great time at Sofia's Tea room, I searched all over and asked several different questions to several tea rooms and Sofia was so wonderful and very accomidating! The tea was excellent! They leave the tea pot on the table, the food was incredible and you could enjoy every bit of the homemade touch. We will be back. Thank you for allowing us to have a great Diva day with you!

I am a tea fanatic, and have gone to many tea houses all over the US and Europe. Sophia's tea room was amazing from beginning to end. I first called and spoke to Sophia, asking about her teas. After she told me they offer a tea of the day, and I wasn't sure if I'd like the tea she mentioned she spent a lot of time on the phone with me searching through her tea collection to find some I would like. She told me she would write down the teas I mentioned that I would like. Then, when I arrived with my friend, we were immediately greeted at the door, as if she was waiting for us!! And, she did remember the teas we talked about on the phone. The ambiance is classy. The food was delicious! The apricot scones-Yum!! The staff was very attentive, stopping by to be sure our tea was hot, and if there... (more) was anything we needed. Even Sophia made a point to stop by and see how everything was, and offerred us a chance to taste another tea. So, for the 2 of us, we had 3 diff. types of tea. I can't say enough good things about this place! I will definitely be returning for another relaxing afternoon! Thank you Sophia for your attentiveness!

Had my best friends bridal shower here and was sooooo pleased. The service was wonderful and the food outstanding. Sofia stopped and chatted with us and was so warm and accommadating. There is no other place I would have rather spent this special occasion.

My friend and I went to Sophia's today. We had a very nice time. the atmosphere is inviting and comforting. We appreciated the fact that Sophia makes all things from scratch and doesn't hide the fact that she DOES NOT make her bread from scratch - she gets it from Publix. We have been to other tearooms that pass all of their items off to be homemade, when the eclairs are still frozen when served. Sophia and her staff are so sweet and take time to explain everything served. If I had one gripe it would be the variety of tea offered. My friend and I like to sample different teas and we were only offered one kind. Other than that, we had a splendid time and will be returning very soon!

I absolutely love Sophia's Tea Room. I've been there for tea 3 or 4 times since I discovered it last summer, and every visit is a treat. I have been to every tea room in Tampa, as well as one in St. Pete, and none of them compare. I like how, at Sophia's, the emphasis is on the quality of the food, which is homemade and impeccable. Her gift shop does not overwhelm the restaurant, as it does at some other local tea shops. The decor has been updated since the photo shown here on TeaMap. And she herself is so personable and friendly, you can't help but want her to succeed. I wish you the best, Sophia!

My Red Hat chapter celebrated our 7th anniversary in this perfect tea room. Sophia is a charming lady and the tea room is just as charming. The scones were the best I have ever had at a tea room. All the food is homemade and so nicely placed on the tea trays. This tea room rates #1 on my many visits to tea rooms. I am looking to go back soon, I just need to find something to celebrate!! If not I will just go back to visit Sophia because she is so lovely. Thanks for a great day!!

My mother and I enjoyed our afternoon tea at Sofia's which turned out to be a pleasant surprise! It is a lovely house tucked away with several rooms nicely decorated for tea. Since they have several rooms you can still enjoy a quiet tea while a shower may be going on in another room. We were very impressed by the quality of sandwiches. Our favorite was the curried egg salad. The homemade desserts were a hit. My mom normally does not like the dessert plate but she polished off mine along with hers! The tea served was Blue Lady. It was something I would not normally order, but it was very good. They were very accommodating and brought me lavender Earl Grey which was also very good. We both had a wonderful afternoon and enjoyed getting to know Sofia. We will be back to this little jewel in Tampa:)

Sofia hosted a wonderful bridal shower for my daughter on Saturday,
March 1, 2008. We had 20 women, but there would have been room for more. The space was beautifully decorated, with a comfortable home-like feeling. There was a beautiful china cabinet, a fireplace, a big bright window, tasteful artwork and many adorable decorations. The china & teapots were all different and very pretty. The table setting, with warming stand for the teapot was attractive and the seats very comfortable. The adjacent foyer with cushioned sofa and the gift shop, displaying many china teapot sets, gave the place an open airy feeling. The food was absolutely delicious: extremely fresh and homemade. Sofia described the menu: Large drop scones with the scrumptious clotted cream and jelly. Excellent fi... (more)nger sandwiches: egg salad, cucumbers, and mini croissants with smoked turkey and arugula. The desserts were equally outstanding:
pecan tarts, chocolate bars and pound cake. All accented by flavored loose black tea. The teapots were kept full and my daughter sat by the fireplace in the big red Queen Anne style chair and opened her numerous gifts. We were all highly satisfied!! Thank you Sofia!!
PS. There was ample parking and several spots close by so that we could load and unload without difficulty.

My friend and I were visiting from out-of-state, and had actually made reservations at another tea room; that owner called us at 10pm the night before to cancel on us! Yes, I understand the reason, but I was to go home the following day. When I called Sofia's, not expecting to get a reservation the same day, I was surprised and thrilled that she could accommedate us. Thank you!! It was relaxing, the food absolutely delicious and the pear honey tea one of the best I have ever had!! Thank you Sofia, for your gracious hospitality and for making this 'snow bird' feel very welcomed!

Sofia's Tea Room is excellent. I was first introduced to a friends Wedding Shower. The food was great. After that I had my daughter Jennifer's Wedding Shower at Sofia's. The food was excellent and the service was just wonderful. The mother daughter tea in December was great. The Butternut Squash soup was excellent so was the food, tea and service. I will be returning soon. This is a great place.

Sofia is truly a gem. Her attention to detail, food and excellent tea selections are fantastic. We have been there a few times, but most recently we attended an evening tea. This is our second visit to Sofia's Tea Room and it won't be our last!!!!It was wonderful. The tea,atmosphere, the service and the food. Both times we have had differnt teas and they were delicious. Lots of flavor, today it was a black tea with strawberry, kiwi and coconut.Delicious! It has been a pleasure every time, so relaxing. Sofia's food is homemade with skill and love. We will keep bringing friends with us to enjoy the experience.

My sister's and I went to Sofia's Tea Room this past Saturday and I tell you what class! The tea was brewed perfectly. The finger sandwiches were delicious as was the desserts, especially the pound cake with the peaches, it is to die for!!! Sofia's Tea Room by far has been the best experience.

It is customary for my friend and I to celebrate our birthdays with a visit to a different tea room each year. Sofia's Tea Room ranks in the top 5% in the Florida Tearooms listing and it definitely belongs there. The Afternoon Tea was absolutely one of the best we've enjoyed over the years. The scones are OUTSTANDING! Rated the best ever by the 3 of us - Sofia makes hers from scratch, no ready mix used here. The touch of apricot with aprciot preserves added to our pleasure and delight. The finger sandwiches were a special treat - one totally different from the usual chicken salad/croissant. The dessert tray was scrumptious. We all recommend an afternoon experience at Sofia's Tea Room for friendly service, pretty table settings and a repast to remember. Extra bonus:I found an attractive purse holder on the gift table. My Christmas shopping begins!
