Variety: Many Tearooms are labors of love created by Entrepreneurs with a passion for all things tea! However, people seem to forget that Tearooms are actually fully functioning Specialty Restaurants. Reservations are a necessity. If you are late, that is your fault. If you don't tell them the true number in your party, how can they make the correct individual amount of food? Have you ever stopped to consider that a typical tea tray consists of approximately 10-15 different petite sized food items per person? Or that it costs more to produce tea trays, then a regular luncheon menu, and that if you expect white glove service, that it will cost for this 'extra' service? Please remember that most Tearooms are small businesses, and the profit margin is only about 20%. Tearooms are unique and should of... (more) |

Variety: What a fabulous birthday treat! I have been to Sugarplums three times previously and have felt simply spoiled! :) For my birthday, I set up a full tea for my husband and myself... and it was PERFECT! The only thing better than the delectable food was the over-the-top service! We felt SO pampered. Thank you, Sugarplums, for the perfect birthday setting! Better than a day at the spa... ;) We will most certainly be back, and we'll bring our friends! |

Variety: I visited on April 10, 2010 and everything was cheery and wonderful. The decor is tacky enough to be adorable and the iced teas were delicious. The chicken salad w/House salad was incredible! |

Variety:
I went to the tea house a few weeks ago with some friends, after hearing rave reviews from some work buddies. Sadly, everything was lacking. |

Variety: I highly reccomend Sugarplums, The food is excellent and plentiful, Scones and Biscuits are served 'HOT and are large, Chicken Salad on Croissant is to die for, The Quiche is a large slice and good, only wish is that they would also make a Crabmeat Quiche, Salads and Salad dressings wonderful,I love it so much, , however I will be retuning and bringing friends to this delightful Tea house ans The owner and wait staff are effecient and so friendly! We had the 'Sugarplum Tea' and it is so wonderful, we drank the whole pot. |

Variety: I was at Sugar Plums for my nieces memorial service. I didn't get to have tea but the first meal I had eaten in 3 days whas the wonderful chicken salad. I am not a big chichen salad eater but this was amazing! My kids also loved the deserts. The owners were wonderful to our family and our situation. I will never forget how great their hospitality was and I look forward to having lunch there very soon with my Mother and Sister. |

Variety: Took my sister for a birthday brunch, what a lovely experience. The chicken salad on homemade wheat bread was wonderful. The homemade sugarplum dressing was tangy and smooth, and the sugarplum tea blend was a must--I drank my entire pot. My sister really enjoyed the sugarplum nectar in her chai tea and along with our desserts, which was lemon bundt cake and chocolate brownie with buttercream choco icing. Also had a sample of the homemade biscut and saw mill gravy--yum. We will absolutly go back. The decor was very elegant and clean. All staff members were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to experiencing the dinner weekend menus to come!!!!! Thank You all... |

Variety: The experience we had here was just wonderful. My husband, daughter and I vowed to return as often as possible to try everything. Rowanda was just charming and our server was considerate and informative. The house is wonderful and it is a step back in time. Walking in the door, the aroma gave us a hint of what was to come and we were not disappointed. We look forward to sharing our experience with friends and family... can't wait for next visit. |

Variety: The ladies that own Sugarplums (MAria and Rowanda) blessed our family more than they will ever know. We had my step-daughters memorial here and was the perfect place. IT was beautiful, the food was wonderful and the entire staff were so good to us. I can tell you that we will be going back again and again. We fell in love with the women and the food. IF you enjoy good food....no make that GREAT food then you need to go here and at least give it a try. I have been to many tea rooms and this one is BY FAR my favorite!!! Thank you ladies for blessing us so much! |

Variety: I don't know what Sugar Plums you complainers went to on Val. day but the one I went to made our night very special. I thought the dimmed lights were very romantic and the food was very good. My waitress was a dear, she kept us entertained and we will be back soon. |

Variety: We have been celebrating birthdays ever since they opened, I we LOVE this place. The food is prepared fresh and they baked their own bread. I just love it. It's not any higher price than other places. So, I like it for everything. |

Variety: I wasted 2 hours of my life going to this god awful tea room on Valentines Day. The place was so quiet because I could see on people's faces that they were very disappointed with their evening. The lighting was too dark and the chairs were uncomfortable. The salad looked like someone sat on it, the soup (lobster bisque) was delightful but im sure it came from a can, the entree was a joke! the chicken didnt taste or look like chicken, and the steak, my dear lord, my dog wouldn't have eaten it! Then the dessert was some kinda peach crap a la mode. McDonalds couldve fed me better. I know this place will go outta business shortly if they don't start to get more creative and lower their prices immediately, otherwise I could care less about this vomit room sugar plum. |

Variety: They are out of there mined! Charged us $45 a person at Valentines Day and we got nothing for it, 1/2 cup portion of the very hard and dry stake and I don't know what else, because I couldn't recognize it. They are a joke, that was a rep of. I am very sorry I took my family to this place and I have thrown our money away for this special 'dinner'!!! |

Variety: Not worth the money, totally ignored by the wait staff. Food was not what we were promised. We had reserved for a full afternoon tea and the only edible thing was the salad. We had brought my nieces and they were not allowed to sit with us. On another visit overheard the owner talking about staff being fired and how they needed to make more money. Went on one occasion to buy tea (loose tea) and was told to come back later because it was not bagged and they were to busy...seriously. I implore all tea rooms Canton needs a new tea room...HELP!!!! |

Variety: I have been to Sugarplums multiple times and the service and quality can really be hit or miss. I have had some excellent experiences with great food, nice hot tea, and left feeling like I had mini retreat to nirvana. I have also had very bad experiences, tea was not hot, tea was overbrewed, food before the tea, quality of food was off, bad service, etc. For the price it's too hit or miss so I won't be returning, which is unfortunate. I think the mean spirited comments to the people who have given honest accounts of their bad experiences are shameful. |

Variety: I fell in love with this place last year. However the service and food have gone downhill. Cream Tea is 8.95 which includes 1-2 scones and a 3 cup pot of tea. You used to be able to get a 5 cup pot of tea and 2-3 scones with this. Wait Staff is clueless and management is to busy socializing to pay attention to customers who are being neglected. I ordered the Chicken Salad Salad $ 9.95, the amount of chicken salad was small, had to wait 15 minutes for dressing after I got the salad. I had asked for a slice of the homemade bread instead of the biscuit that comes with meal and was told I could not do that. Even though I have sine before this waitress worked there. After waiting an hour for my bread, I was brought stale and dry wheat bread from a store. Awesome, I waited over an hour fo... (more) |

Variety: I have been twice, once for lunch in the old location, and for Valentine's dinner in the new location. Both occasions were wonderful. The food, atmosphere, and service were all great! |

Variety: I went to Sugarplums recently with a group of friends, and enjoyed myself immensely. The teas were lovely (on the owner's daughter's recommendation I had an almond tea that was fantastic), the food delightful, the settings absolutely charming. Our initial server was a rather...hmm...testy woman, but the owner and her daughter quickly took over and the service from there was perfect. All in all, I have no complaints! |

Variety: We are a fine group of christian women and we had reservations for our Christmas luncheon and we were ignored because of other big parties in the building so they didn't even bother to see if we were ok and hot teas that were ordered had no warmer under them and always out of desserts. Seems like they are more interested in big showtime parties at night and any other time but our money is as good as theres and if they don't want our service then we can make arrangements quickly. Always want a number in your party and you never know if somebody is gonna be sick or if somebody is gonna die and they get preturb if number is off and sometimes if it is they claim to run out of food!!! |

Variety: Funny Queen Butterfly you really do sound like the 'Red Haters' instead of the Red Hatters - as you surely intended! Either way, our party had a wonderful experience - with great food & service. Would recommend as a place to try out for all those looking for something special. |

Variety:
I came to a tea party at Sugarplums on December 5th. My work used to bring me to this area, and every time I passed this beautiful house I would think what a perfect tea house it would make. Imagine my delight to find out it now is one! And what a perfect job they've done with it. |

Variety: I had my 60th birthday get together at Sugarplums on Dec. 5th and I could not have chosen a better place! The decor was beautiful and tasteful, the service was wonderful and the food was excellent. I will be a return customer time and time again. Thanks to the wonderful staff for a special birthday. |

Variety:
I, too, recently visited this tea room and fell in love with not only the superior, loose leaf teas, the presentation, the excellent food and aesthetic appeal, but the people were absolutely delightful. I specifically enjoyed their scones and melted at the taste of their buttermilk pie bars! Everyone at Sugar Plums goes out of their way to make the event, whether small or large, to your pleasure. Thank you ladies! |

I attended a birthday party today at Sugarplums. We had a great time. I loved the Christmas decorations, the staff was friendly, and the food was wonderful. The gift shop was full of beautiful, handmade items. Great place for lunch or party!!! |

Variety: My Red Hat group had a wonderful experience today at Sugarplums. The owners are delightful ladies, whose hospitality is most gracious. The entire house is beautifully decorated for Christmas, esp. the entryway. My group is planning to return for another visit. Thanks, Rawanda & daughter. |

Variety: My daughter and I have gone for lunch two times, and have enjoyed ourselves immensely each time we've gone. Stephanie, my daughter, was looking for a venue to host an upcoming event and we both fell in love with Sugarplums. It's so rare to find a group of people who are as friendly and inviting as the staff at Sugarplums. The food was fantastic and the teas are just wonderful. It's hard to decide what I want, the menu for tea is so extensive. The whole house is just delightful and relaxing. We live in Kennesaw and it's a bit of a drive, but it's worth every second of the trip to leave as happy and relaxed as we do. The post below reeks of grudges and is extremely suspicious, I don't trust it for a second. I'm happily looking forward to going back again next week to try breakfast. |

Variety: I don't even know where to start. My mom and I went to Sugarplums a couple weeks ago and I was blown away. The venue itself is a house that was built in 1849 and as we drove up I absolutely fell in love. I went to find a venue to plan an event at and I had a list of a couple places to try out before making a decision. Before I'd been there for an hour I had already booked the date and decided I didn't need to visit the other rooms on my list. The staff are friendly, obliging, and just as helpful and sweet as can be. Their food (I had the ultimate grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup) was just heavenly. I'm forever ruined on grilled cheese with tomato soup - nothing but sugarplums will ever do again. Mom and I shared a pot of their blackberry tea and it's honestly some of the absolute best tea I've ever had. I've been back once already since and mom and I have decided to go back regularly every two weeks. I highly reccomend this place for any tea lover, or anyone who just enjoys good company and good food. |

Variety: My friends and I have been to many tea roms and Sugarplums is one of our favorites. We plan to go back for tea to celebrate Christmas this year. I don't know of ANYONE who hasn't loved the food, tea and atmosphere at Sugarplums. The negative review below seems suspect to me . . . |

Variety: Wow! Difficult to see that someone would post such a ranking wirhout speaking to the owner about the issues during her visit. I too am a tea shop owner and in fact own the Crabapple Tea Room... We never have a problem to recommend Sugar Plums to our guests for another tea room to try and also visit there ourselves (myself and staff included) when we ever take a day off. Yhe food has always been very good as well as the service. While any of us can have an 'off' day, I hope that customers will give us the opportunity to correct any issues by first making us aware of a problem. It is our passion to serve great food in a lovely environment and the mom/daughter team & staff do a terrific job of this at Sugar Plums. Emily Mathews |
