Variety: My daughter and I have gone for lunch two times, and have enjoyed ourselves immensely each time we've gone. Stephanie, my daughter, was looking for a venue to host an upcoming event and we both fell in love with Sugarplums. It's so rare to find a group of people who are as friendly and inviting as the staff at Sugarplums. The food was fantastic and the teas are just wonderful. It's hard to decide what I want, the menu for tea is so extensive. The whole house is just delightful and relaxing. We live in Kennesaw and it's a bit of a drive, but it's worth every second of the trip to leave as happy and relaxed as we do. The post below reeks of grudges and is extremely suspicious, I don't trust it for a second. I'm happily looking forward to going back again next week to try breakfast. |

Variety: I don't even know where to start. My mom and I went to Sugarplums a couple weeks ago and I was blown away. The venue itself is a house that was built in 1849 and as we drove up I absolutely fell in love. I went to find a venue to plan an event at and I had a list of a couple places to try out before making a decision. Before I'd been there for an hour I had already booked the date and decided I didn't need to visit the other rooms on my list. The staff are friendly, obliging, and just as helpful and sweet as can be. Their food (I had the ultimate grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup) was just heavenly. I'm forever ruined on grilled cheese with tomato soup - nothing but sugarplums will ever do again. Mom and I shared a pot of their blackberry tea and it's honestly some of the absolute best tea I've ever had. I've been back once already since and mom and I have decided to go back regularly every two weeks. I highly reccomend this place for any tea lover, or anyone who just enjoys good company and good food. |

Variety: My friends and I have been to many tea roms and Sugarplums is one of our favorites. We plan to go back for tea to celebrate Christmas this year. I don't know of ANYONE who hasn't loved the food, tea and atmosphere at Sugarplums. The negative review below seems suspect to me . . . |

Variety: Wow! Difficult to see that someone would post such a ranking wirhout speaking to the owner about the issues during her visit. I too am a tea shop owner and in fact own the Crabapple Tea Room... We never have a problem to recommend Sugar Plums to our guests for another tea room to try and also visit there ourselves (myself and staff included) when we ever take a day off. Yhe food has always been very good as well as the service. While any of us can have an 'off' day, I hope that customers will give us the opportunity to correct any issues by first making us aware of a problem. It is our passion to serve great food in a lovely environment and the mom/daughter team & staff do a terrific job of this at Sugar Plums. Emily Mathews |

Variety: I came here for lunch recently with several friends. I had a chicken salad sandwhich that was terrific. Loaded with apples, grapes, nuts and chicken. Wonderful!! And, our waitress Jennifer was super sweet and attentive. Great experience! |

Variety: This was the worst tea room that I have ever been to. The worst service and horrible food and the tea was not very good. |

Tearoom Response
As you can see by our ranking and other reviews, we are not accustomed to this type of complaint and take this very seriously. I am surely disappointed that you didn't ask to speak with the owners seeing that you were unhappy with everything possible. We are notorious for customer satisfaction and strive to achieve that each and every day with each and every person. We would definately like for you to contact us directly by phone or in person so that we could discuss this matter further. I look forward to hearing from you and will await your call. Maria Champion (Owner)

Variety: Flew from Pittsburgh to Atlanta on business and had afternoon tea at Sugarplums upon the recommendation of someone who had been there. We were pleased with everything – the place is charming and welcoming, the food was excellent and plentiful, and the owner and her staff extremely hospitable. We enjoyed our tea experience and plan to visit Sugarplums again on our next trip to Atlanta. |

Variety: I was so glad to be back at Sugarplums!!! Presentation of such yummy food was wonderful, choice of well-brewed teas was wonderful, service and fellowship were, too! My whole family had such a good time. Thanks! Can't wait to come again in a couple of months. |

Variety: We went for the full tea and that is how we left, full, we even had to take some some of the delicious sandwiches with us. It was beautiful traditional, without being stuffy, very calm and pleasant. The food was excellent and served beautifully. The tea was unusual, elegent, flavorful, hot, plentiful and delicious. I will recommend Sugarplums to all my friends and family! |

Variety: My tea group went to Sugarplums a month ago and having never been there before were blown away at what we experienced! Amazing location - historical mansion. Great hospitality from Rowanda and her daughter. Amazing food and great tea selection. We were really impressed! A bit of a drive and a little more pricey than some rooms closer to town, but we felt it was more than worth it. We will be back! |

Variety: Wow. I was looking for the perfect tea room to take my mom for her birthday... and Sugarplums exceeded my expectations. It was CERTAINLY worth the hour drive! The setting was perfect for a full service tea. With a huge tea selection, it was hard to choose which to try first! And the food was absolutely perfect. But the icing on the cake was the service; it seems as though everyone who steps foot in this tea room is treated like a celebrity! I would give this team room an A+, hands down! And we will most certainly be back... |

Variety: Sugarplums offers a relaxing, cozy atmosphere that feels like home. My family and I have come to adore SugarPlums and it's staff. The staff are so warm, attentive, and inviting that they feel more like family members hosting a personal visit than strangers serving us lunch and tea. The teas are varied and exquisite; however, for me, it's the food that keeps me coming back for more. In fact, I have always enjoyed the food so much that I have yet to leave enough tummy room to try one of their visually tempting desserts (I hear they are to die for!). This place is like a little slice of Heaven in my chaotic life. It is the 'girls' getaway' for a family of women who carry the world on their shoulders. It is truly a place to break away from it all and get back to connecting with yourself and the other important women of your life. |

Variety: My aunts took me to this wonderful place for a birthday tea. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment! My four year old daughter came with us and she was in heaven! We were treated like royalty and the food was delicious as were the teas we chose! We will be back!!! |

Variety: My grandmother and I have been to Sugarplums every week for the last month. We love it. Rowanda and Jennifer have been absolutely wonderful. We feel we have made great new friends at Sugarplums. I have also taken other family members and my 8 year old niece. They made my niece feel like a princess. They couldn't do enough for her. Also they treat my grandmother wonderfully as well. They make her feel so special and that makes me feel great. They are very sincere and caring people at Sugarplums. And the teas are great. They explain them to you and the food is yummy, yummy, yummy!!! When we go we feel so at home and comfortable. It is very relaxing and we have a great time. So if you want to enjoy yourself get a group and go to Sugarplums. You will make wonderful memories that you can always cherish, and meet people who you will never forget. |

Variety: I too was surprised to see all the great reviews. I am not sure if my friend and I visited Sugarplums on a bad day but our experience was not pleasant. When we arrived at the tea room, there was no-one to greet us. We had to walk through the whole tea room shouting as we went. Finally we had to go into the kitchen to find someone. Then we were told to look around some more before as the owner wanted to talk to us before we were seated. All together it took ten minutes from our arrival to be able to sit down at a table. I have to say that the tea and the service was good but they were the only positive things. The food was bland and tasted store bought. The icing on the cake was when we heard a loud crash from the kitchen followed by a woman's voice saying 'Oh Well, five second rule!'. We should have walked out but by this time we were starving. I am afraid that this place will never get our business or our recommendation again. |

Variety: MY DAUGHTER SURPRISED ME ON MY BIRTHDAY, AND TOOK ME TO THIS WONDERFUL TEAHOUSE.I WAS SOO IMPRESSED. THE FOOD WAS WONDERFUL, THE SERVICE WAS GREAT, AND THE TEAHOUSE WAS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. GOING THERE MAKE'S YOU FEEL SO SPECIAL.I HAVE TRAVELED ALL OVER THE U.S., CANADA, ALASKA, AND IRELAND. I HAVE BEEN HEAD HOSTESS FOR ALONG TIME AT THE WORLD'S FAMOUS CATTLEMEN'S STEAK HOUSE IN DALLAS TEXAS, AND IN FORT WOTH , TEXAS,AND NONE OF THESE RESTAURANT'S THAT I HAVE BEEN IN ARE AS SPECIAL AS SUGARPLUM'S TEA HOUSE. I HOPE TO VISIT THERE AGAIN VERY SOON. |

Variety: I was given a lovely surprise of tea at 'Sugarplums' for my birthday in December. Rowanda is the most gracious hostess I have ever met. During our visit, I made the remark 'I would love to work for you' to Rowanda. Well...guess what?? I now work for Rowanda. I see what goes on behind the scenes. Everything is made fresh daily. She honestly bends over backwards to make certain all her guests are happy. I have visited many teahouses and this is my favorite, by far. |

Variety: What a beautiful tearoom! I visited today with close friends. We found the staff to be friendly and very attentive. They tried to meet our every need. The midsummer blend tea was wonderful. The chicken salad with pecans and grapes was scrumptous. We'll be back. |

Variety: I'm afraid we were just disappointed with our visit last week. Our tea was brewed so strong, it just wasn't good (both pots) and while the server was friendly and attentive early on, we had to ask for water refills each time during our two hour stay. Our food was pretty good, but breads could have been a bit softer. The scones wuld have been nice maybe a bit earlier in the day too. Maybe we justvisited on an off day. There seemed to be a group in another area that was needing quite a bit of attention. I guess after all the great reviews we were just expecting more. May or may not return another day. KB |

Variety: My tea friends and I spent a couple of wonderful hours visiting with each other over some awesome caramel tea, a very fresh salad and sinful dessert. Sugarplums is a beautiful tea room and Ms. Rowanda is so sweet. We felt so welcome. We also went in the new gift shop called HOLLYHOCKS owned by Ms Barbara; it is filled with the most wonderful array of gifts and fits in perfectly with the atmosphere of the property. It is charming and definitely worth the trip. |

Variety: Well... I am sorry to say our visit was quite a disappointment last week. The food was just so-so and the tea was over brewed (actually bitter) We had expected more after such great reviews, but there are some better tea rooms. The setting was lovely and maybe we will try again this summer. |

Variety: It was awful! They didn't have any of the items we tried to order, so we had very few things to choose from. The server didn't have a working lighter to light the warmers for our tea pots and seemed completely unprepared for everything. She even stuck her nose into my mothers tea pot to see what tea flavor it was because she couldn't tell which one had Earl Gray and which was Almond. I am still so disgusted by this. I expected a lot of desserts to choose from too since it was Valentines Day and they couldn't even offer a good selection of that. SugarPlums is one of the worst restaurants in Canton Georgia. |

Variety: I was very surprised at all these high ratings--I was very disappointed with our experience at Sugarplums in Canton. I had talked about all the arrangements for my 7 yr olds birthday party with the owner. She assured me it would be so nice for her and we also discussed the foods and desserts and fruit that would be served. Our reservation was 11 am...the children didn't get anything to eat until close to 12 noon and there was no real special attention paid to our party at all. The food was not what we had discussed before and I was basically the server and hostess for the whole time. It was definitely not worth what they charged me in a room charge and the charge per child. Other Tea rooms spend much more time making the experience special. I felt like we were put in a back room and forgotton about |

Variety: Our tea group visited Sugarplums on January 31st. The tea room is beautiful inside and out, and everything is so feminine! We were immediately greeted by the owner and her lovely staff. The service could not have been better! We lacked for nothing. We were instructed to relax and were told that their motto is that no one is allowed to be rushed. They told us to stay just as long as we liked. How refreshing! At the front of the tea room is a lovely gift shop called Holly Hocks. I found some lovely Victorian notecards there, perfect for Valentine's Day coming up! The shop had many wonderful offerings. My only criticism is the food. The food we had was good, but there isn't much variety. There are 4 sandwiches, I believe, and about 4 salads, a couple of ... (more) |

Variety: On January 23rd, I came to town and visited Sugarplums for lunch. I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting 4 of the finest ladies celebrating a birthday. One lady in particular, an 82 year old lady, was kind enough to serenade the group with her beautiful singing. Not only did she light up the place, she made my day. It is a shame that others would have something bad to say about a place that invites such friendship and laughter. And, if memory serves me correctly, the staff came to the outside of the door for only a short time. My food was great, the waitresses where great, and the other customers were great. If you want to go to a place where you can have fun, enjoy good friends and good food, this is the place to be. |

Variety: My daughter and I decided to treat ourselves by trying out this Tea Room that had such fabulous reviews. We made a reservation and we excitedly went and had lunch there. We heard how friendly, Ms. Rowanda was so we were anxious to meet her. Well, there was a huge party of women across from us in another room which were very lively to say the least. I didn't mind all that was going on over there, it sounded like they were having a great time. All the staff at Sugarplums were cloistered in that room with them so that left my daughter and I in a room completely by ourselves. Our server treated us well, but Ms. Rowanda was too busy with her other guests to ever even come and tell us hello. We felt very isolated so it did not turn out to be the experience we had hoped for. |

Variety: My Mother and I went to this Tea Room last Tuesday, and it was very good, we had yummy scones, however someone had spoken for all the lemon curd, but we did have butter, honey and rasberry preserves. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. I would encourage guests to make a reservation at least 24 hours or so in advance to reserve lemon curd and scones they go fast. |

Variety: My husband and I went to Sugarplums yesterday for lunch. The event made our day! The staff and relaxing atmosphere made us feel so special that the rest of the day was romantic! The tea was very tasty...he had hot black currant & I had ice tea...even better than I make at home! The waitress was nicely attentive. The service was superb. She kept our little sample glasses of 'the tea of the day' refilled, as well as attending the entire meal, right down to dressing our salads for us! The salad was fresh & had various vegetables, the way I like it. The chicken salad sandwich was the best with pecans and grapes on homemade bread. My husband had a delicious hot pannini with melted cheese. Yum! We didn't have room for dessert, so I want to try that sometime, as well as their high tea. We love the antebellum house and the way it is decorated. It was such a pleasant experience. I can't wait to go back! My husband enjoyed it very much, too. :-) |

Variety: I had the opportunity to visit your wonderful tea room. It is a perfect blend of excellent food, delicious desserts, 'properly prepared' tea (no bitterness)and genuine 'southern hospitality'. The gracious hostess, Ms. Rowanda is an inspiring lady and a very delightful person. The tea room is beautiful and the atmosphere is quaint, peaceful and relaxing it is a place where you simply want to linger. To me Sugarplums was more than a tea room, it was an uplifting experience! Thanks |

Variety: My friend and I recently celebrated our November Birthdays at Sugarplums Tea Room. What a delightful experience! Not only was it beautfully decorated for Christmas but it is has a very traditional and charming atmosphere. I would recommend it anytime for a quiet, unhurried meal whatever the occasion. |
