Variety: My husband and I had a wonderful experience at our little tea house. We really need to be patient with todays small businesses because of cut-backs. We were just delighted by the service and the wonderful heart to heart we had with the cook. Well-done!We'll be back. |

Variety: Where to begin is difficult? As we have enjoyed tea in many places in the world this was one of the most enjoyable.Lovely setting not over done, beautiful presentation and excellentfood and service.Taste certainly lived up to its reputation. How lucky for Virginias to have a tea of this level. Thank you ladies for a tea to be remembered. |

Variety: Wonderful all-around experience. Three of us drank Darjeeling, Peach & Ginger, and Palm Court tea all beautifully served in clear glass pots with diffusers that allowed us to regulate strength of tea. Would have liked cozies to keep tea warm but would have detracted from visual design of teapots. Food excellent, BEST scone EVER. Easily accomodated our one vegetarian guest. Variety of tea sandwiches marvelous, at least 8 different savory bites. Delicious sweets including creme brulee, spice cake, cream puff. Delicious homemade lemon curd. Very friendly staff. Other enthusiastic guests swapping stories of wonderful tearoom discoveries. Highly recommend. Bergen County, NJ |

Variety: This tearoom is so special that my husband and I make sure we include it in our plans every time we visit Virginia (about once a year). We are from New Jersey and have been to many tearooms in our tri-state area, but none compare to our tea experience at Taste! We always order the Royal Tea so that we can enjoy their wonderful soup du jour which is beautifully presented and garnished. The tea is perfectly brewed and served in glass teapots and teacups that allow you to appreciate it's lovely amber color. The scones are the best I've had for taste and texture served warm with real clotted cream. I'm always delighted by the variety of gourmet savories and love that creme brulee is a part of the sweets course! I would recommend this tearoom to anyone who wants to enjoy tea in a lovely setting with delicious food and impeccable service. |

Variety: As usual, I was not disapppointed with what I have come to expect when I go to Taste. Everything was just lovely as it always is. I have lost count now as far as how many times I have been to Taste now. I tell EVERYONE that I know who enjoys tea about this shop. The tea room is soothing and bright with all the things that you might want to add to your love of tea at home. The food and the tea are exceptional. The staff are friendly and prompt without being intrusive. My sister, and the rest of my friends intend to visit Taste again soon to get the special boost to our day that we all deserve. Taste is the place for that. |

Variety: My heart is saddened as I just had my last tea at Taste. For the past 6 years my friends and I have enjoyed coming to this very special tea room for a lovely time of tea. It is not just going to lunch with the girls, the experience at Taste is one of tranquility and rejuvination. As you relax to the wond, erful calming colors of the shop mixed with their beautifully displayed gifts with piano music floating around you can't help but let life's worries seep away. Diana, Cheri and their staff are wonderful, nothing is hurried and everything is worth the wait. I am going to miss them and their wonderful tea room very much, they have a set a standard that any new tea room in my new state is going to find hard to live up to. |

Variety: This was a wonderful place to visit!!!! My husband and I were visiting Colonial Williamsburg for a few days and wanted to pamper ourselves with a full tea. We called up one other place and found them to be very unhelpful, so we decided to call Taste, and I was so pleased with the help we recieved over the telephone. The hospitality continued as we called for directions because we were lost! As soon as we arrived we were pleasantly greated and brought to our table that was beautifully set. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing with the sound of classical music softly playing in the background and the the room was full of fun and differnt tea items along with other things. The tea was steeped to perfection and the food was exquisitely arranged and delicious. My husband is a bit of a picky ea... (more) |

Variety: My daughter invited to me to go to High Tea at Taste Tea Salon. We came from Richmond and were able to easily find it, nestled in a quaint village of unique shops. We visited several shops while waiting for our reservation, and everyone at the shops told us we would have a wonderful time at Taste Tea. They were right. We entered the beautiful and unique tea salon and were greeted by soft music and a very friendly host who told us we could pick out our own table. We browsed through their extentsive gift selection, and my daughter picked out several gifts (which she researched later on line and found the prices to be BELOW the prices you could get direct on line!) We were delighted by a mryiad of delicious treats and the best tea we ever had. The staff was so kind and friendly and made our visit extremly pleasant. This was a wonderful experiance and I would definately recommend it anyone who wants a unique and delicious time. |

Variety: There is no place between Virginia Beach and Washington, DC, any lovlier to have lunch or an afternoon tea than Taste Tea Salon. Because what you are served is SO SPECIAL, it requires reservations to prepare the labor-intensive made-from-scratch, high-quality homemade goodies, which are lovingly served on colorful dishes atop beautifully decorated tables covered with cloth tablecloths and napkins. The creative owners and staff insist on making your visit an old-fashioned, take-your-time-and-enjoy-it type experience with scrumptious tea sandwiches, scones, soups, and desserts that taste just like Grandma use to make. My 94-year-old uncle, who had never been to a tea until he was invited to my mother's 80th birthday party held on the premises said, 'You know, food just tastes better when it'... (more) |

Variety: We were visiting the shops at Kingsmill today and since it was such a cold day we thought perhaps it would be nice to have some hot tea and scones. We were unaware that reservation were necessary, out greeter went to the back to see if we could have tea and she came back and seated us. We looked at the list of teas and had finally made our decisions of tea and was told that we could not have tea and scones. She said that they didn;t have enough scones. So we left the shop. I can't believe a tea shop would run out of scones.since this was around noon, there should have been ample scones on hand. We have been to other tea shop's in our area and we were always welcomed in for tea and scones . Our greeter was not very friendly. After leaving the shop we stopped at another shop or two and were promptly told that the staff in the shop was not very friendly and they were snoody. We will not be coming back to your shop when we visit Williamsburg again. |

Tearoom Response
We are sorry that you were upset and wish that you had ask to speak with the owner. We do require reservations for our teas since we have only seven tables. Many tearooms have seatings we do not. Guests having our teas are encouraged to linger and relax. Scones are baked each morning acording to the number of reservations for that day. We do offer scones and tea after two thirty if space allows. Our staff is extremely friendly and I am certain whoever seated you thought you were interested in our full afternoon tea that begins at 12 o'clock. If we served scones and tea all day we would not stay open very long.As to other shops saying we are snobs I find that interesting since we all suport each other. I hope that you and others would read all of our reviews. In over six years we have never had a negative review. We would question the rating you gave us since you did not experience our food. Please feel free to contact us directly and please identify yourself since you left no name.Regards Diana & Cherri Owners |

Variety: I visited Taste in Oct. The food was all delicious & the service was exceptional! You explanations about the various teas were a nice lesson for beginners like me. I was so inspired that I hosted my first tea, yesterday. Thank you, Diane, for your recent consultation in selecting the three teas & your encouragement. I'll be back & am sending many of my friends (from Kilmarnock & Newport News) your way! You have the gift of 'hospitality'!! |

Variety: I have visited several tea houses in Virginia - none compare to this lovely tea house. The scones are second to none and the service wonderful. Do not visit Williamsburg without stopping here. The feeling you will leave with is wonderful and a day well spent. |
